   Our waiter was new and a little hard to understand, seemed not to know too much about the menu and didn’t tell us about the special they had with crab, which at least two of us would’ve had. When the food did come out, it was really good and everybody seemed to enjoy their meal. I would certainly go back there again.

   Delicious food, great ambiance and wonderful service. A great way to spend Mother’s Day. Will be back.

   We need to visit more often. A true gem in Calgary. Though service was a bit slow, everything else, including the attitude of all staff, made up for the slightly long wait. 10/10 night.

   Probably the poorest service I've ever had at River Cafe. Breakfast is normally good here but the dinner is a different story. This was Saturday before Mother's Day. Waited 10 minutes for our server to even greet us. Lovely lady though. Just all over the place. Wait more than 1 hour for our mains to come after finishing our starters. And when it came, it looked like it had been sitting on the heat lamp for a while. A sad sad presentation for 2 not so cheap meals. Granted the server said there was a large table being served but that's no excuse putting out a terrible plate for your other tables. I worked in a busy kitchen before and this was subpar. Will probably not come here for dinners.

   We were really impressed, the food was really well done. Drinks were solid and the overall vibe of the restaurant was on point. Enjoyed the quiet as we could actually talk and hear ourselves think. Only draw back was the fact the heater on the patio didn’t work. Wouldn’t have sat outside if we were told upfront. I also noted on the reservation that it was a burgundy’s celebration and this wasn’t acknowledged in any way.

   The menu hasn’t changed for at least a year and a relatively lacking in variety. My arctic char was very good but the accompany veg leeks and sunchoke not my fave.

   The experience was wonderful, as usual! Last night we tried the bison steaks and they were delicious. A few bites were a bit too salty but overall, the meal was very well created/cooked! Jared was an excellent server!

   My family and I are foodies. We have been in some of the best restaurants around Europe and North America. River cafe is our favourite one in Calgary. And its location, on Prince Island, is second to none. Hail to River cafe!

   Really wonderful venue for a special dinner occasion. Food was amazing as was the service. We sat outside as it was a warm evening. Server didn’t rush us and we had the 5 course menu and stayed for several hours. Highly recommend !
