Ristorante Lo Stella
At " Lo Stella" Ristorante you will find the original recipes from previous generations like Pesto sauce, Bolognese sauce, marinara, fish ravioli, vegetable ravioli, pappardelle, tagliatelle, pizza and a lot of Colorado meat and fish products cooked in our "ligurian" style.
Lo Stella Ristorante has also had 25 years of great success in Tokyo, Japan until 2013 when Alessandro decided to move to Denver to open this authentic Italian Restaurant.
We had been to Lo Stella once before and our recollection is it was much more quaint and quiet and the food was terrific. Which is why we chose to bring my elderly parents there. This time it was extremely loud and the food was only satisfactory. Disappointing as we thought we had found a real diamond in the haystack in terms of quaint Italian restaurants in Denver. Maybe better off on a Mon, Tues or Wed night instead of Sat night. Fortunately our server was very good. And there was a very cute baby next to us that my mother adored.
This was our first visit and we were hoping to find a really excellent Italian place. Our hopes were exceeded by a wide margin. We can heartily recommend Lo Stella and we will visit again whenever we are in or near Denver.
We’ve eaten Italian food in many countries including Italy and this place is simply excellent!!
Felt like we were eating in Portofino. Food, service, ambiance, wine was exceptional. Will be bringing my family next !
We loved the authentic Italian food and atmosphere. Glad they've opened up this sister restaurant in Denver!
Lo Stella NEVER disappoints...I will always recommend. The food, the people, the entire experience
This restaurant had been highly recommended by a friend who is well versed in Italian food. The service was a bit slow, but good when we did have it. I had the bolognese, but was disappointed when it came out luke warm and even cold in some spots. The other diner had the fish ravioli and it was hot and good. The restaurant was very hot and stuffy on a cold night.
I love the food, atmosphere, and the owners and staff. They serve amazing and authentic Italian and really care about their customers. Highly recommend.
The best most authentic Italian restaurant outside of Italy. Fantastic home made from scratch old world cuesine. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem.
Food was excellent. I had the bolognese and it was prefect. Moderate portion, very flavorful. Sauce was meaty and the pasta had the perfect texture. Exactly what I was looking for on a chilly night. Cozy, authentic atmosphere and attentive and friendly service.
We were served by the owner, and you could tell how much he cared about good restaurant and the experience everyone had - even those tables he did not serve.
I love LoStella. It's my new favorite restaurant. The food is delish and the staff are interesting, kind and welcoming.
Love this place!!! The service is as outstanding as the food. Tradition Portofino food cooked to perfection.
We have been there many times & always had good food & a good experience but Sat. It didn’t seem to be the same restaurant at all. I was very embarrassed that I took guests there.
Lo Stella is as close to Italy as one can get without going there. Terrific food and fun atmosphere. Our waiter, Fabrezio, is so joyful about his work you can’t help smiling.....
We enjoyed a beautiful, romantic, and delicious anniversary dinner at Lo Stella. They have the best pasta in Denver.
Everytime I go, I love this place more. Truly exceptional.
I love this place. The food and service are excellent. The parking is a breeze in the evening. Love the ambiance and over all feel
We have been going to Lo Stella since they opened. Love their food, service and atmosphere.
Never disappoints! Always good! Service great! Food excellent!! Overall excellent!
The food at Lo Stella’s is wonderful and beautifully presented, but the noise level is overwhelming. The wait staff are very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful, but I think they may have been short staffed the night we were there. Definitely go for the food but avoid Friday nights when the place is packed.
Reminded me of dining in Positano. Highly recommend! Our new favorite place!!!
Oh my goodness! What a gem! Homemade everything and fresh. Service was perfect, friendly and fun. If you stay at the Art Hotel, like we did, or just looking for a fabulous Italian restaurant near the Denver Art Museum... this is the place!
Second time at Stella. Very enjoyable dinner with friends. Waitstaff knows menu and made great recommendations. Food was served in a timely but not too quickly fashion. Portions were correctly sized. We like the low-keyed atmosphere.
Food was outstanding, the decor was adorable. The waitstaff was friendly, just wish they were a bit more attentive. The restaurant wasn’t outrageously busy and there were moments where we saw our waiter meander about not really doing anything, and the only time we were helped was to take our order and bring out the food. They were friendly, just did the bare minimum. Regardless, it was still a fantastic experience!
The linguine and fish ravioli were amazing! Virginia treated us like family.
It’s become a staple. My kids love it and it’s a great spot. Definitely recommend.
Delicious tagliatelle bolognese, yummy wine, and Fabrizio always makes us feel at home. Love Lo Stella!
Great service and good food. The mushroom salad was the best!! We were seated at a table for two side by side another table of two and we felt like we were eating dinner with them. They talked and talked AND TALKED, and it was very loud and uncomfortable. This is a classier restaurant than to have the tables placed like that. It was so uncomfortable that we said we wouldn’t go back even though we greatly enjoyed dinner, especially the mushroom salad.
This was our first time trying Lo Stella. We were meeting friends. We had a reservation at 5:45. We ordered drinks and a couple appetizers that came to our table promptly. We gave our waiter our dinner order when he served our appetizers. The restaurant got quite busy. We did not hear back from our waiter until we got his attention to ask where our dinner was? This was about two hours later. We ran out of water. We were not asked if we would like another glass of wine. We were not told what had happened to our dinner. Finally our food was brought to the table and we were told that our meals went to another larger party by mistake. Really?! The food was delicious but we were already frustrated as it had been over two hours since we placed our orders.
They used to serve really good decaf coffee to finish off the meal, but this is no longer available so we will consider other restaurants before we return to Lo Stella.
Pasta dishes were very good. Little disappointed they did not have a Chianti by the glass
One of our 4 dinners was served 2 minutes after the first 3.
Denver had no quality Italian for years - a short list of imitators and pretenders: This is the real deal! Lo Stella's food is simply outstanding and truly genuine Italian in recipe, preparation, service and attention to detail without being pretentious. This was my 5th meal there this year and there will be many more!
This is the Most authentic Italian restaurant in town! Family-run, attention to detail. We have frequented it many times, for many occasions and always had a delightful time! Everything on the menu is wonderful, we've tried them all!
Shayla was great! I loved the filet, which came with green beans in a tomato sauce. Superb!
Waited for a entrée for over an hour Service was the Worst would never go back
Best Italian in denver . Superb food and service . We’ve had dinner here often and they always deliver a great meal and a welcoming authentic Italian ambiance
Overall we enjoyed our meal. The only downfall was the rack of lamb had a little too much fat and not enough meat. Appetizers, drinks and spaghetti Bolognese were very good.
Over- priced, small portions and too noisy to converse in. Nice atmosphere and the food was very tasty!
Love, love this restaurant. What a find! Our second time and certainly won’t be our last.
