Rio Grande - Denver
The Rio features Fresh Tex-Mex Cuisine created in house everyday. We are known for our legendary margaritas and our festive atmosphere. Located just steps from the free 16th Street mall shuttle and a few blocks from both the Pepsi Center and Coors Field. Cheers from the Rio, hope to see you soon!
This was my first time at a restaurant after the end of the stay at home order. The Rio did an good job of separating people and had safety measures in place. I felt very comfortable. The expectation was that you need not wear a mask at your table but if you walked around a mask was suggested.
Love to eat at the Rio. It's great to be able to sit and eat again.
Overall the experience was good. The only negative was management of the front door, although these days I'm sure a challenge. We went to the trouble of making a reservation. On arrival the front door is mostly blocked with a table with a sign "please wait to be seated". There's a gentleman inside at the front desk, but no one at the table outside. There were probably 30 people waiting outside, several at the table blocking the door. All of us at the front door had no idea what we were supposed to do. A young lady next to me bewildered said she was just waiting to put her name on the list. I finally just went in and told the front desk we had a reservation. We were seated almost immediately. You need to get more direction at the front door.....a person taking names, sorting walk in's from reservations. People are all unsure of what the rules are everywhere they go these days. It's up to establishments to make those clear.
It was a great first lunch back out in town after sheltering at home for so long! Rio Grande was the last place we went before staying at home and the first place we went to once things opened. Service was VERY slow from the bar and pretty slow from the kitchen, but we were happy to be back!
Love the Rio Grande! Our server Andrew rocked it. We enjoy their margaritas so much ☺
Wonderful. Great to dine on Rio opening day
Always a great time and great food!
Very Loud! Food was marginal at best especially for the inflated prices. Drinks were watery and gross. Very un rio margs.
Excellent food; excellent service; excellent margs!
I have been to Rio Grande several times and they have been good experiences. My recent dinner was not up to par. Service was slow, our order got lost, and food was cold. It was a very busy night, but it is always busy on a Saturday. Must have been an off night. I will continue to go to Rio Grande. It is a good place.
Our waitress had great ability to describe the various food items we had questions on and she was exactly right about it!! I tried something I may not have tried without her input and it was delicious!
In town for a concert, we actually booked this restaurant by mistake (meant to book at a Mexican place we had eaten at on our last trip to Denver) but decided to give it a try and we're glad we did. The chile rellenos lived up to the hype in other reviews, the guacamole was fresh and delicious and a VERY generous serving, and the margaritas were really good. We love hot salsa and the Atomica did the trick! Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the large portions. It was cold outside but we had a window table and the patio looked very inviting - we'll remember that if we return to Denver in a warmer season.
Food was great, their famous Margs sneak up on you. Server forgot we were there for the last 20-30 minutes.
Great food and margaritas.
We made a reservation because and got seated right away during the busiest hour. Water, salsa and chips were brought immediately and our cup/bowl never ran dry. The noise level was so extreme we could barely communicate our order to the waiter. I typically think it’s weird for a couple to sit on the same side of a booth but this was the first time I understood the need for it, if we wanted to have any conversation at all. The house margarita on the rocks is one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had, we drank two and ate quickly. The steak and portobello fajitas were fantastic, but a little light on the veg. Chili con queso w/chorizo was thick and creamy, stellar food at a fairly steep, yet worth it price.
Great place to eat. Best Margaritas in town.
We always have a great time and enjoy the food. The margaritas are just icing on the cake
Great service and amazing margs and guac a definite cut above normal Tex mex
Best margaritas in Denver for sure - a Colorado classic in any of their locations
Dinner for a bachelorette party before going out. Yummy margs!
The server was very attentive! Meal prep was outstanding
The staff was so accommodating as my guest was 45 minutes late but I was seating at the time of my reservation and I was able to munch on nachos and sip on a margarita until the guest showed. Great drinks, food, and excellent service.
Fantastic, as always!
Busy night, but we got seated right away because of our OpenTable reservation. We loved the baked chile rellano stuffed with veggies, and also the pork burrito. But I was sorry to see that the menu no longer carries the grilled fish taco plate - it was a nice option for those of us trying to eat healthy.
Great service and excellent food!!
Absolutely nothing special, completely ordinary, everything is ok. Service was very good, food was just typical Tex mex. Nice place to have a drink, and enjoy friends that's all.
Poor service, food came soggy.
Best margaritas I've ever had. Order house version, rocks/salt.
The food was expensive for the portions, the hostess at the front was very rude, the music was extremely loud so you had to basically scream to talk to someone at your table.
Good food. You don’t get a lot for how expensive it is. We waited a long time for our food. Music was too loud. Food was really good
The young hostess was very rude. I asked for a table for 7 but thought maybe 5 and she said” is it 5 or 7(?)“ and made the table with a huge attitude. No reason for it. Service was slow but waitress was very nice.
It was meh
The server was great and food were good. The restaurant gave away our 7:15 reservation because my party of 5 arrived at 7:22. We sat at 7:45 at a cramped 4 top bar table
Excellent service and the food is everything you’d expect from a quality restaurant like Sushi Den.
I loved the food! Yum! Also I appreciated that you can order a mini margarita. Our server was so friendly and attentive. I’m so glad I went and look forward to going again sometime.
The margaritas are the best around town. Food is okay. Service was excellent.
It was amazing
The chili rellanos are terrific here. Sitting outside is a lot quieter on a night that the Pepsi Center is having an event.
Great place to meet up with friends. Great food, service, and drinks. A little high on the price for Mexican food but, it was all tasty. My wife and I met up with our friends after walking for Uptown which was an easy walk (down hill from Capital Hill). We all enjoyed our dinners. Service was great and not pushy to get us out for the next group of people.
Gran lugar para reunirse con amigos. Buena comida, servicio y bebidas.
It was a fun spot- a bit expensive for what it was...
