Food was delicious, service was friendly with great expertise; We asked our server, Jack, to pick all the choices, as we wanted to sample and share small plates and like a great consultant, he ordered for us better than we could have ordered for ourselves. We continuously had our table cleared and new (warmed) plates were substituted. On our Satruday night arrival, we had a slight mix-up with our reservation which the Manager quickly straightened out for us. As I reflect back on the evening, I can't believe the bill was so low....l may have been quietly comped a bottle of wine....If so, thank you very much, and if not, this dinner was a great, great value on top of a splendid evening...

ChoLon was absolutely delicious. My favorite is the Kaya toast, general cho dumplings, and the waygu beef skewers. Everything melted in your mouth and was so good. Our server was very attentive and very sweet. Fantastic ambience and such a good date night spot. The food is to die for. Everything is flavorful and delicious. Worth every penny.

The soup dumplings were not as hot as usual. But they were still delicious as were the octopus fritters and the wide noodles with shrimp and waygu! We'll be back again!

Our server was excellent. We have food allergies and she marked up the menu to help accommodate them. All of the food was delicious and came out super quick. ChoLon had been on my list for ages and I should have gone sooner!

The food is unquestionably super good, but for the price point, I would expect 5-star service, which was not quite the case. I went with a date, and we specified 2 dishes to come as the main course, but they didn't come together, and so we easily finished the first main before the second came. I get timing dishes is hard in restaurants, but for this price point, I would expect it to be more on point. Overall, great food, and ambiance, but given the price, I'd expect outstanding service.

The downtown ChoLon is exceptional! It is one of our go-to restaurants for special occasion dining. The food is interesting and so very delicious. I also had an amazing gin and tonic cocktail that I am still thinking about. But the highlight of our evening was our outstanding server, Samuel. To me, a server can make or break a dining experience, and Samuel took things to the next level. He was so pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. That can be a difficult balance to strike, and he nailed it. We will definitely be back to ChoLon and hope he is our server!

Overall, the food was between decent and good, but overpriced for what you get. We left a little hungry after spending $100 for two people. The Bao buns were good - the shrimp did not taste like shrimp though, which was disappointing. My friend and I couldn’t really place the flavor. The pork bun was good with a nice sauce. The octopus cornbread fritters were good due to the sauce - we didn’t taste any octopus. The Malaysian noodles had good flavor but were very oily - I was expecting to get sick later due to the amount of oil but luckily I didn’t. The best part of the meal were the doughnuts with coffee ice cream for dessert. It was like fair food with yummy caramel and coffee dip. I’d only go back for the doughnuts!

French onion soup dumplings used to be so good. They have become too popular, small and doughy. So sad they have changed. Waygu beef skewers and pork Bao buns were excellent. Still so bummed out about the dumplings. This is the second time they have been small and mediocre.

We hope you shared this feedback with the server so they had an opportunity to address and remake them as they should be the same as you remembered. Hearing they were small gives more reason to believe they were not steamed long enough, as the moisture would have been absorbed more, making them the size your should expect. We enjoyed a fabulous dining experience on Friday. The food was excellent and we really like the new additions/specials to the menu - the chicken egg rolls and Kaya crème brûlée! Our waitress Jen was terrific - so informative, friendly, and attentive. Made it a very fun dinner for us. Both the kitchen and the servers were prompt with the timing and service of our many courses. The general manager Andrew stopped by a couple times to ensure our satisfaction and he impressed us. ChoLon is our favorite restaurant and this time did not disappoint in any way!

Service, food, and ambiance were all great. We got the tofu bao, shrimp bao, salmon roll, fried long beans, and scallion pancakes and enjoyed it all! But the standout was definitely their frozen cocktail. It seriously tasted like you were on a beach somewhere. The only thing we didn’t care for were the French Onion Soup dumplings; they were pretty overwhelming flavor wise, especially since you had to eat it all in one bite. I know they’re an incredibly popular item, so if you do want to try them, I recommend asking for them as an appetizer so you can eat them while you’re still really hungry.

Compared to our last visit years ago the restaurant was dark, enough that it was hard to read menu. NOISY enough to make conversation difficult. Waygu beef was very chewy/tough. Pork dishes better. 6% mandatory surcharge for back kitchen staff. What happened to tip pool? Sadly will not return.

We enjoyed our time, but ultimately we did think that the price was too high for the taste of the food. We also thought the menu was a little bit limited in options Having said that....the bao buns were our favorite thing and if you go, definitely get those. We liked our cocktails too. Waitress was great. Only thing was that the food was good, just not great.

The food at Cholon is always top notch. The soup dumplings, the satay, brussels sprouts, bao buns were awesome. The waitress was ok. I felt like she was checking a box whenever she came to the table. He interrupted our conversation a couple of times and was just kind of "canned" in her approach to us. The restaurant was incredibly loud, which was a bummer because we were trying to visit with a friend we hadn't seen in 20 years. As I said, the food is excellent, just don't go to Cholon for an intimate evening.

Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make suggestions for items that best fit my food restrictions. We shared the French Onion Soup Dumplings, the Autumn Squash Dumplings, the Roasted Beet & Pear Salad, and the Vegetable Rendang Curry. We could have stopped there and been quite satisfied, but we then shared the 5-Spiced Doughnuts dessert. Everything was excellent. Quite an explosion of flavors! The squash dumplings were a bit too sweet, but they nicely balanced the other items. The curry was not overly spicy. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if the coffee ice cream was available as a separate (smaller) dessert.

Good ambience but to expensive for the quality of food (it wasn’t great). I would not come back.

Love love love Cholon! Definitely one of Denver’s BEST! Only gripe is the Euro trash sounding disco music emanating from the kitchen. Second time I’ve observed this disconnect. Hey, Lon, your restaurant is classy and exquisite - get rid of the crap music and play something as classy as the rest of the place!

Service was spot-on, attentive and helpful. Food came quickly, one course after the next perfectly timed. Food was delicious, many unique flavors, textures and pairings of ingredients. The only thing I would change is the noise level of the restaurant, which could be addressed by creating more private spaces vs. rows of tables in one large room. But a wonderful place I would return to!

Just as fantastic as 10 years ago. I can’t even think about the dumplings and Bao buns without a major craving to pop by. Just phenomenal food. The service was absolutely perfect too. The cocktails were a bit sweet but I’d probably just stick to wine next time.
