Gwen Butcher Shop & Restaurant is the second restaurant from fine dining chef Curtis Stone (of Maude) and the first he’s opened with his brother Luke Stone. Gwen is both a European-style, chef-driven butcher shop and a restaurant that is redefining dining in LA, with a menu that calls on fire-based cooking techniques. Whether you’re picking up house-made charcuterie, prime and rare breed meats from the retail store, enjoying a feast in the dining room or relaxing with a bite and cocktail at the bar, Gwen delivers the highest standards of quality, taste and service.

On Wednesdays-Sundays, we offer Chef's Carte Blanche 5-course tasting menu for $140 per person (limited quantities available). The whole party must enjoy the tasting menu and wine pairings are available for $90 per person. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the restaurant at 323-946-7500.

    Sat at the chef’s counter and thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff was fabulous - loved our server Nick. The food was so amazing! I would highly recommend Gwen, we will be back!

    The food was amazing and we’re still thinking about that rib eye! Unfortunately the service was very slow and underwhelming. Our server wasn’t very knowledgeable when it came to what some of the dishes were and it was nearly impossible to get a drink or find the sommelier. Maybe don’t offer the sommelier recommendation if the sommelier isn’t available or knowledgeable. The experience was not worth the price.

    Waiter hardly came by - we had to flag him down many times. Dinner took 3.5 hours because of it. Food was very expensive for what we got. Pasta was the highlight!

    Great meal. Had the tasting menu. The tasting menu is meant to be a ‘surprise’ taking into account allergies so there’s no menu but they were happy to share what the protein was. I didn’t want to come here and not have some aged beef as part of dinner! Tasting and wine pair were both great food and a great value too all things considered. I might not choose the chefs counter next time. I do prefer a high top but it’s in the back corner of the restaurant in the prep area and adjacent to back kitchen hallway. Will definitely come back because the service is also perfect - attentive but informal.

    For the sticker price and accolades …. I was most disappointed by the fact that the cocktails are not scratch made. The bartenders lacked experience and flexibility in making my a drink I actually want. We needed up getting two cocktails off their menu filled with pre batched drinks and both were subpar. The food was alright … compared to all the fine dining I’ve had the pleasure of eating, this one is at the bottom of the list

    We were coming with kids 9.10. they are so nice to kids and we always live steak from Gwen. Best steak house in LA.
