The dry-aged kingfish cru & yuzu kosha and the hot fried frog legs were excellent appetizers, full of discernible flavors and textures. The Japanese cheesecake was more like a soufflé, light but redolent with delicious tastes. The chocolate bar was a revelation, chock-full of pralines, peanut butter mousse, and a creamy dark chocolate coating. The only disappointment was the Wagyu Hanger Steak and Fries. The steak was veiny, difficult to cut, and chewy, which is not what I would expect from Wagyu steak. On the other hand, the accompanying fries were perfectly crisp. Despite that one disappointment, Angler is still one of my favorite restaurants. I especially enjoy coming in for lunch on a Saturday, where I relax at the bar and enjoy the lobster buns and the bespoke 60s-80s soul music playing lightly in the background.

Another exceptional dining experience at Kali! I enjoyed the "Greatest Hits" menu featuring some of the Kali favorites from the past 9 years. The beetroot tartare was sublime and the famous Rosemary roll with cultured butter was a perfect accompaniment to the rest of the tasting menu. The wine and cocktail program at Kali are thoughtfully curated to complement the cuisine. This dinner reminded me why I've been coming to Kali regularly since they opened nine years ago.

Food is exceptional especially the snacks and smaller bites. For the main course (black cod) if only they cook the fish for an extra 20s would be on point (it was almost gooey texture a bit under cooked). Noise level is really the only drop back- we literally had to yell at each other.

Ordered a beef meat rice bowl. The first bite was pretty great but subsequently all the other pieces of meat were tough. Made me very angry.

Advanced reservations recommended. We had the soufflé, the German pancake, carbonara, and the fried rice. A lot of food for two. But we were not sure when we be back. Plus it was in the late afternoon so we made it more of a brunch then breakfast. It was worth the wait and the food was out of this world. Can not wait to go back and try other items… the Turkish eggs to name one.

One of my favorite pizzas in LA! It was my first time in the patio and I loved it. The noise level was better than being inside. If you go with children definitely seating outside in the summer is a great option!
