Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro
Great food specials and wine list, my only wish would be to include some local wine options
We live in Santa Fe and when to go to Albuquerque for afternoon theater, we always dine at Zinc. Their brunch is wonderful and reasonable.
Really good food; fresh salmon entree, ahi tuna app, decent wine prices for a glass. We would definitely return😀
Meat was just a bit undercooked. Service was good but could ck more often.
My wife and I had dinner here with friends after a Popejoy show. My wife had their prix fixe tasting menu and I had their fish special. We had a cocktail before dinner and a wine flight with dinner. The food was very good. We really enjoyed their Applewood Chicken Crepes appetizer and chocolate mille-feuille sundae.
Sunday evening fairly quiet, asked for drinks waitress/bartender offered a slight change took her up on it and yes she knows her stuff. Always attentive never hovering. Food was off the tasting menu, outstanding. Fit for foodies, also quiet conversations.
Food and service was good. A little noisy. Quality of food good.
The food was great, as usual, and our server, Lea, was as good as they come - friendly, cheerful, and accommodating. We were seated promptly, and all of the employees and servers were warm and friendly. We are foodies who retired here from Austin - and Zinc has become one of our go-to places to dine out. Caio!
Great food, great service. Prefer booths; not as private as it is set up. Don’t like listening to other people’s conversations having a fine dining experience.
Top notch food, service and overall experience. That's why we dine at Zinc regularly.
Mediocre food : chicken saltimboca just a piece of chicken with a slice of cheese sliding around on top covered with an overly sweet sauce. My husband has to send his fish back twice to have it properly cooked (ie. not raw). However, service was gracious
This was a birthday dinner gone. I mentioned on Open Table it was my wife’s birthday and my wife mentioned it to the server, but to no avail. No gesture from management. No candle, cake or ice cream! 👎🏻 The food was just plain bad. Lobster bisque was bland along with two orders of chicken Paillard. My Steak Frites for a whopping $32 was a 2” x 2” square piece of tough meat with a bucket of fries?? WTF?! My daughter’s beef ravioli was so salty, she could hardly eat it and the creamsicle desserts were bland and tasteless. I wrote to management and they sent a $50 gift certificate on a $190 tab??!! That’s a lot of fuzzy Math! Never again!!
Our server, Leah, was phenomenal! Best service we have had anywhere. Food was delicious and prepared quickly.
Wonderful as usual
We have been to Sunday brunch at Zinc numerous times and usually it's good. But last Sunday they were out of items and we both wound up ordering a chicken omelette Lorraine. Big mistake. The chicken and eggs were very dry, even with Mornay sauce. It was towards the end of their brunch and it tasted like the entree had been under a heat lamp for hours.
Our server was great. We sat at the kitchen exhibition bar. Watching the food prep was really fun! We were able to talk to the chef and that was great! They had a special menu for food week. While my main course was just okay, everything else was exceptional.
Although it gets loud when busy, the service and the food is always excellent. We went for NM Restaurant week and ordered from the Prix Fixe menu. Everything was excellent and the included dessert topped it off beautifully. I Highly recommend Zinc.
Good food and wine, nice prix fixe options. Sensitive to our time needs.
I made reservations for a group of friends. I arrived on time, but the others trickled in over the next hour. I'm sure this was inconvenient for such a busy restaurant, but our server and other restaurant employees remained pleasant and never complained. I ordered the scallops which were perfectly prepared and served with a delicious sauce surrounding a mound of rice pilaf with bits of cranberry and cubes of squash. I enjoyed every bite. I can't speak for the other people at our table, but everyone seemed very pleased with their meals. Service was excellent throughout.
We came for restaurant week and found the food to be delicious and the portions to be quite generous. I asked to have no chile on the appetizer (food allergy) and they brought it with chile. They were very apologetic and told me they'd re-do it and take it off the bill, which they did. That was very nice. I thought the sable fish dish was outstanding. The sauce had a very interesting flavor. Our friend loved her beef ravioli. I thought the lamb tenderloin could have had a more interesting sauce, but the gnochhi and veggies were quite flavorful. Everything was cooked to the correct temperature. The server was very attentive. It's a really attractive space.
Great service, great wine list, very uneven food. Pork belly app was great, crepes were very good and the french onion soup was inedibly salty.
Lamb loin was cooked perfectly, too bad it had no salt. The sauce was fine, but the accompanying vegetables were lackluster and tasted reheated. The bison could barely be cut, let alone chewed. Someone must have been too tired to tenderize it enough. The rest of the plate was fine, tasting very much of pot roast. The Sable fish had to be sent back, it flat out stank. Absolutely unacceptably bad.
Desserts were dry, but huge!
There's potential there, I will try it again when it is not restaurant week.
A group of friends had dinner before a show at Popejoy. Our server, Heather, was sensitive to that and made sure we had our dinner and even time for dessert at a nice pace to enjoy the meal and make the show. It was a wonderful evening and I highly recommend Zinc.
I enjoyed my meal.
Excellent food and service. Worth a visit in a surprising location.
We went to Restaurant Week, and the choices are understandably limited. The appetizers were wonderful. The entrees were spotty and the waiter might have told us how they were. The sablefish was odd-tasting, maybe especially paired with the applebacon appetizer. Anyway - the place deserves another meal. The place is easy to be at. The servers clearly a little stiff and spotty (and perhaps working through school).
Our server was professional and amazing. Restaurant week menu was yummy. Great atmosphere and would definitely go again.
Best brunch in town — wonderful food, great coffee, good value.
Great brunch! We both had the same dish (eggs Bennie over seafood cake, perfect), so can't evaluate the rest of the menu, but what we saw at other tables looked great. Our waitress took excellent care of us seamlessly. We had a lovely time.
But I do wish they had gluten free bakery offerings, a GF muffin, pancake or toast. Pretty please?
Leah was amazing!!! I will forever want to sit in her section. The food was amazing. I went home and nothing at my house even looked good anymore haha!! I can’t wait to go back.
Creative cuisine, nice wine list, reasonable prices and great service all made for a wonderful evening. Relaxing vibe too!
The service is top notch. The wait staff is knowledgeable and gives honest opinions.
The food is excellent. No more to say. Everything was impeccable!
Must eat place in ABQ
We were looking for a nice Sunday brunch to celebrate Gail's birthday. My last experience at Zinc three or four years ago was not very good, but the waitress said the lower level cooks had just come on board...This time we both had the smoked salmon and scallops eggs Benedict, which were incredibly delicious!!! Perfectly cooked and very tasty. The seafood layer had sun dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts, making the dish a new taste sensation for us. The crispy potato ball was also very good. Gail had a free flute of bubbly for her birthday freebee. Tanner was an excellent waiter and was very helpful. Very few people in the room so not too loud and good choice of seating. Sorry we cannot comment on the rest of the menu. Enjoy!!!
This is a special place. The food, the service, the wine selection, the entire experience was exceptional, and not just by Albuquerque standards, it is a special place period.
Always a beautifully executed meal and we love that the chefs and cooking team are preparing our meals right there in the open kitchen. Our favorite thing is to sit at the bar in front of them and watch the cooking. Great service, nice open dining room and one of our favs when we are in Albuquerque.
A wonderful Valentine’s Day Dinner - good food and a warm evening
We are visiting Albuquerque on business and ate at Zinc upon the recommendation of a local colleague. Zinc was a wonderful surprise! Food was outstanding and reasonably priced. Ambiance was the right blend of sophistication and casual. Next time we are back in Albuquerque, we will make sure we return.
It’s my favorite restaurant in the NOB Hill area. Consistently 5 stars in all aspects in this diners culinary opinion!
Love the pre fixe menu! Food and service were excellent! It is a little loud, but tolerable.
A vary delightful experiance! And definetly try the duck eggrolls!
