Our first visit since the remodel. Although I like the larger tables, with more space in between tables, I liked the old, more colorful décor better. I also miss the larger menu, though everything we tried was exceptional, as before.

We have been to Zengo's many times. This was our 1st time since their remodeled and the service was less than desirable. It seemed as if our waiter was on a self inflicted high. Yes, high off of something and we were dining with our 10 year old who was very uncomfortable with the twitching and erratic movement of the our waiter. As we were asking questions about the new menu he couldn't keep still and was consistently touching his nose and mouth and shaking. He had multiple band-aids on five of his fingertips that were dirty and it was just sad to experience this with our 10 year old. I excused myself and found someone to assist us in changing our waiter. I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable either and they sent someone over to assist. As the night continued he did come over a couple of times to make sure we were all right and seemed to be coming down off his high. Also, the bathroom wasn't clean and the toilet seat in one of the stalls was detached and just propped on the back of the toilet. This experience is not what you would expect from Richard Sandoval brand and we were very disappointed and will not be going back to Zengos.

Food was really great. Service was pretty terrible. Waitress seemed either new or just a space case, everything took forever. She had to ask multiple times what kind of drink I wanted because it seemed she kept forgetting. Water glasses sat empty most of the night because she didn't notice and when we asked, it took 20 or more minutes for her to come back with a pitcher. As a restaurant manager in the area I try to be understanding of any situation but there was literally nothing going on in the restaurant. Would've been nice to have anyone acknowledge my moms birthday (as I mentioned in the reservation notes). Overall pretty disappointing experience, likely won't be back.

We had really bad service. I don't think we had a server assigned to us and then when someone finally helped us he didn't write anything down and we got random parts of our order throughout the night. It was frustrating for my group and it was a going away party so the bad service distracted from the event. I waited tables in college and if you have a larger group write things down you will forget. I would not recommend based on my experience. Also happy hour is only at the bar FYI.

I used to love this place. I went there for the happy hour all the time, but since they've remodeled the happy hour menu has changed and doesn't have many options for food and the prices have increased. I was disappointed in our service when we were in the dining area as well. It really was awful. The server was doing the best she could, but clearly had way too many tables. I will not return to Zengo.
