Westerns Laundry is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant focusing on seafood & natural wines. The restaurant is located in the Islington/Highbury neighbourhood of North London. It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial laundry in North London. It now boasts a beautiful 60 cover dining room, which opens onto an open 20 cover cobbled courtyard with olive trees as well as an intimate private dining room. Westerns Laundry has won numerous awards for excellence and originality and is a firm favourite on the London dining scene.

The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious. We shared the smoked trout, the sole, and a green salad. The sauces with the fish dishes were perfect - complementary, and not overwhelming. The green salad looked a bit plain was was really fresh, and served with a delicate dressing. The wine is very expensive - I think the cheapest bottle was £50 - but very good (we had the muscadet and the trebbiano). The only tiny complaint is that we would have preferred the three dishes to arrive together, but I guess they would if we'd made a point of asking. The setting is lovely too - we were lucky enough to sit outside on a sunny June evening, and it was like being in the Med!

We’ve eaten here a few times when we visit London, and it’s always consistent. The food was delicious, in a beautiful space, wonderful service and great ambiance.

An absolute delight. Every dishe we had was delicious; lovely combinations of flavours and textures, familiar and new ingredients. Friendly, approachable staff and a really delightful, buzzy atmosphere.

Two of us went for lunch on a Sunday. This was our first visit. We were greeted quickly and taken to our table, which was shared with other diners. No problem with this and I believe it increases the atmosphere. A waiter quickly attended our table and gave a thorough explanation of how the restaurant works and recommended the number of portions to have between the two of us. He was extremely helpful. We requested he served a selection of wines with the food, which he obliged with wines that paired well with the food. The food was delicious and our experience was excellent. I would highly recommend and will return again.
