Water Grill is family-owned and operated, and offers an elevated, seasonally-driven seafood experience. Located in Denver’s Lower Downtown neighborhood (LODO), their menu features “first-of-season” seafood and a large selection of finfish, shellfish, lobster, crab, and oysters, all sourced directly from their own seafood distribution company King’s Seafood Distribution.

Superb! Excellent seafood beautifully prepared. A good selection of oysters and a great entree of chilean sea bass. Topping it off was the terrific service. All in all, it was a great experience.

Great service, from the hostes to the servers. We never ran out of water, our server was so nice and very helpful. We ordered the new England lobster roll Connecticut style, so delicious. The king crab California roll was also so filling and delicious. 100% recommended.

Got the oyster sampler, of the 6, 3 were great the others were ok. Then got 5 different types of oysters off the menu and they were really great! The apps were good, the clam chowder was amazing. Unfortunately the waitress was inattentive and 20-30 minutes in between courses.. for raw oysters and apps? Very unfortunate. The saving grace was the manager who came by our table to attempt to make it right. I’d recommend this place to friends but I’d tell them to sit at the bar and order oysters that are not on the sampler

The meal and the wait staff were fantastic. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu items. The drinks from the bar were excellent. Overall, we had a great experience. The only sour part was the front of the house. We did not feel welcome and almost left the restaurant despite having a reservation. Other than that initial encounter with the hostess and the gal who brought us to the table, everything was fantastic!

They were out of a lot of dishes, and waitress was not very helpful in providing information on substitutes and was not very attentive. Soup arrived barely warm, halibut special was overcooked. Excellent drinks!

Lovely Mother’s Day experience all around. Food was delicious! The oysters were so good, I had two (I never eat seafood, so this is a compliment!) drinks were a little slow coming up for our first round but besides that the service was excellent. Coming back again!

We had Halibut, Sea Bass, King Crab and Shrimp Louie at our table. All were cooked perfectly with nice presentation. Martinis were also done perfectly. Our server was personable and professional making for a great dining experience.

Voted Westwards Best Fish and Chips for a GOOD reason. Delicious, large piece of cod with as light, crunchy batter that doesn't overwhelm. Also recommend the Lobster Roll. Great place for celebrating, and a nice enough atmosphere for a romantic date.

Our 3rd time to the Water Grill and we lover our first two experiences Tonight the mussels we’re good and the king Crab California roll was very good Our daughter got her drink a little later The halibut was over cooked and dry and not what you would expect from a fish restaurant. The other entree was the composed salmon split and it good . The risotto was a little different on the base of the salmon We were not asked how we wanted it prepared The ambience was loud when we arrived but it quickly calmed down as a lot of people left I left most of the halibut on the plate and our server did not ask if we did not enjoy our dish Thank u

Mothers day supper was a blast, our second time here. Wait staff is always professional and happy. The food was amazing from our raw oysters to the spiny lobster. Love the dining room, vibrant and energetic and nice views out to the street.

The mussels were fishy . The shrimp scampi was super oily. The calamari a little tough. Overall I wouldn’t choose to go back. For the price, there are better restaurants for Seafood.

We got there early on Saturday @ 4:30 and had the gulf shrimp and the pan roasted halibut special (in season). Everything was so incredible. The potatoes, leaks and sauce that surrounded the fish made it so amazing. All this with a bottle of Silver Oak and topped it all off with the caramel bread pudding. It made for an amazing date night. We will be back again.

We have had great meals and great service there in the past, so we were very disappointed last night when we went for my wife’s birthday. The oysters were great, but her lobster was overcooked and chewy, my halibut was also overcooked and dry without much flavor. Then our wine didn’t even come until we were nearly finished with dinner. So the service left a lot to be desired. The manager tried to make it right and did not charge us for the lobster and wine, but still a very disappointing experience.

We were in town visiting for a wedding. We happened upon the Water Grill restaurant, and are so happy we did. I can't remember our servers name, but he was THE BEST server!!! He knew the menu and then some. Do not miss an opportunity to eat at this restuarant if you're in Denver. The food was so fresh and they serve you wonderful homeade sour dough rolls with wipped butter. I will definately return to eat there if I go to Denver in the future.

I give Water Grill a 4.5. It's unusual for everything served in a restaurant ranges from good to excellent. Nothing was just ok. Service has always been and continues to be professional and competent without being too present. Maine lobsters were excellent (if over-cooked by a minute or two). Fried calamari, clam chowder and halibut all excellent. Caesar salad good -- the least impressive dish of the evening. Extensive variety of delicious, well-shucked raw oysters. WG is very, VERY expensive -- unfortunately par for the course in these inflationary times.
