Food took forever to get
We dine out frequently (5+ per week) and used to go to Wash Park often, but it's been a while since we dined here and looked forward to getting back. We had a 5:00 reservation to miss the crowd, but waited more than 15 minutes for water to come, then another 15 minutes for a server to come. Our appetizers came relatively quickly, but 10 minutes later something came that we hadn't ordered. No worries there, we were even willing to keep it and be charged for it. Finished appetizers, plates removed. Then we waited, and waited, and waited...maybe half an hour but probably 40 min. Entrees finally came...well, not my husband's, but I could quickly see he and I could split my dish rather than wait longer. Fine. Good conversation....at this point our server came (first time we'd seen him since taking our order) and my husband asked for a coffee refill and our guest finally got more hot water for his tea. Keep in mind, this was a long time since the first cup had arrived.
Ten minutes after our entree plates were removed, no server, no asking about dessert...then the hostess was cruising by and asked how things were going, we said we just needed our check. When it came, by someone other than our server, the item we hadn't ordered was on it. After waiting another 15+ minutes for our credit card to be taken, we took cash to the hostess, walking past our server and guy who delivered our check, who both turned away after seeing us. Bill paid, we walked out, shrugged our shoulders and remarked that we couldn't suffer through that again. Too bad, used to enjoy Wash Park Grill so much. Hostess great! Food deliverer great, too. Service otherwise, poorer than poor!
Mother’s day brunch
The problem was that the ordinary Sunday brunch is an option of buffet or off the menu. We were not told that there was no choice and buffet was the only option. Members of our party did not want to be forced to the buffet. Management should have made it clear that the buffet was mandatory.
Mothers Day brunch, third year in a row. Great selection and the staff is very pleasant. Looking forward to next year!
After looking at the menu on the website; we made brunch reservations. We were treating our dear friends to brunch and decided on the Washington Park Grille. All four of us were happy with the size and variety of the brunch buffet offerings. Our waitress was very professional, friendly and gracious. The restaurant has a very warm atmosphere and the noise level was low so that we could have conversation without raising our voices. We will definitely recommend and be back!
Restaurant was too warm - turn on the A/C. Food was OK - wonderful neighborhood location, but food is too expensive for the quality and presentation.
My disappointment was with the coffee. First cup cool and bitter. Second cup also seemed also bitter. Another sever offered an Americano pour over. Satisfactory taste. However, what happened to your coffee service?
We had the Sunday buffet and it was truly wonderful. Too much delicious food to eat in one meal. They even had jelly beans for dessert (for the kids?). Can't wait to come back.
Sunday brunch was a hit with our family - the selections will satisfy just about anyone's craving. My kids ate their weight in bacon and waffles and then added some pizza to the mix. The more "adult" selections were well prepared and very satisfying.
Our waitress was fabulous - didn't linger, but was always there when she was needed. The Sunday buffet was huge and everything we sampled was delicious. There was something available for every taste bud. Part of our group opted to order off the menu and then decided the buffet would be the way to go the next time they visited. The only negative was the shrimp bowl - it was slimy shrimp - not firm. It needed to be 86'd but after mentioning it to the staff, it remained on the table - any by the end of our meal, the bowl was just as full-apparently everyone else thought it was a no-go as well. The bottomless mimosas were delish and plentiful! Cannot wait to return.
Food was great, service was friendly but stretched thin on a busy Friday night, timing out of the kitchen struggled - soup took 30 minutes and entrees arrived 3 minutes later, table location was terrible - seemed like an afterthought in the walkway between the main dining room and outdoor patio - it was too small and crammed into a high traffic area. Will definitely return for the food and friendly staff.
Shrimp and crab pasta had NO flavor at all. There were 3 shrimp and one tiny lump of crab. Extremely disappointed.
this has become our "go-to" place for a nice and reasonably priced meal.
To Management: Join the rest of your competitors and offer 1/2 glasses of wine. Better for everyone and not that difficult of a programming issue with your system. Surprised you are not leading here.
Excellent as always! Meals are consistently great, old favorites and specials. Love the unique takes on ravioli. Great wine list .
The primary problem was the food: The fish special was to spicey, though the server said it was mild, and the pasta promadoro was orange and green unlike any promadoro i’v ever had. It was very untraditional.
Was a bit disappointed this time. Place wasn't even half full and neither was the bar when we showed up for a noon lunch. Getting drinks took a bit, food was good but when ordering a second round of wine by the glass it took over 20 minutes and by that time food was cold or all gone. Didn't understand what the delay was and it took awhile ro wrap up.
The service was incredibly slow. It wasn’t busy, place was barely half full. Was over ten minutes for server come to take drink order and rarely checked on us during meal. Food was pretty good, would have been better if order was correct. Not sure why this place is a local fave, I was unimpressed. Glad we had all afternoon because that’s how long this lunch felt.
Waiter was a little slow.
The Colorado lamb chops were fabulous! Jordan offered wonderful hospitality.
Special of the Day good. Selection off regular menu fair. Our server lackluster.
Excellent dinner and happy hour.
Brought a friend there for the 1st time as I've always enjoyed this place. Food was good, service was not as good. The waitress brought us a dirty wine glass and when we were leaving we asked for a to go box and she proceeded to place a dirty plate from the table on top of the food we wanted to box up.
We had a good Easter Brunch at the Washington Park Grille. Our reservation was scheduled at 1:15PM, we waited an extra 20 minutes to be seated at our table. No problem we were not in a rush. The food was good (crab legs, oysters and few desserts were very good) . Due to high traffic few items (crab legs and biscuits) went missing quickly. It was also becoming messy with food dripping here and there on the buffet tables. The restaurant set up make you go through the people waiting to be seated with your plate full of food. The hostesses and our waitress have been great. We would go back but probably not for the Easter brunch (too busy).
Great food with wonderful, friendly and attentive wait staff.
Always a good experience! Good food, good service, quiet and homey
Delicious meal, nice wine selection, casual atmosphere. Enjoyed our dining experience. Will definitely eat here again.
We were there on a busy Saturday night, but our server Kelsey was still prompt and attentive. The kale-carrot salad with raspberry vinaigrette was well prepared, as was the mussel appetizer. The french fries are delicious, you might try them as a side dish. Worst part of the night was finding parking.
Why is this a “go to” for so many? The food is bad, the service is horrible and the noise is drum shattering.
WashPark Grille is always a favorite of ours, but this occasion was a bit disappointing given that our app order was not delivered at all, and all the sudden we had our entre'. Had to track app down. The connection between the order and the food deliverer was broken. After we were 1/2 way through the entre', our apps appeared. The class thing to do is at least comp the calamari. Had to take home. Have you had warmed over gourmet calamari? You can do better at your price points.
We had attended Sunday brunch for a birthday celebration & the waitress was less than accommodating. When asking for other bread options due to nut allergies, she said they can’t do anything else or special because it is a buffet (although they did have an order menu to choose from). Seems rather odd to pay those prices yet for those with allergies, there just aren’t any other options... Our waitress clearly showed her annoyance because we asked for other options which was disappointing to us.
Really enjoy this restaurant! Great food, service and atmosphere.
The overall experience was excellent. Food, as in previous visits, was great. We also experienced friendly and efficient service. We'll be back!
As always, the food and service were great. I had an entree salad for my lunch, the salmon and roasted butternut squash - delicious. My companion loved her cobb salad, and we both enjoyed the pre-meal bread with olive oil and veggies. Our waitress never hurried us, but was always available if we needed something.
Go for the delicious food, as each of us were very pleased with our dishes. Sadly, expect to be rushed or ignored if you’re a party of 5 on a Saturday at 6:30pm.
Best reuben sandwich I've had in years. Will definitely go back again.
Great brunch! Many many choices and all delicious!
