The food and service were fabulous. Our waiter asked us about dietary restrictions and helped us put together a wonderful meal. My only complaint was the music. It was too loud.
Wonderful staff… very knowledgeable and attentive. Great wine selection.
The price seemed a little too expensive per item but the ambiance, service and food itself was very good. We enjoyed it very much
Ultreia was a wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent and the food divine. It was a pleasure to experience the tastes of Portugal and Spain with a modern flair. Highly recommend. Will certainly go back.
Great food and service.
Let the chef pick your food. Get the chef plate.
Need more sauces. Most dishes were dry.
Too much cheese on the artichoke salad, makes it salty.
We had not been for a few years. As good or better than we remembered. Glad we went back.
It was amazing! Service is incredible!
Absolutely great. Food was delicious and service was awesome. Will come back if ever in Denver again
Great wine selection. Gotta come back for some paella
Such a romantic and sexy spot with a wonderful server and yummy food. Try the chef’s pick it was excellent. The ribs were the best ever. Definitely try this spot.
We did the $80/2 people "Most Popular" option. The first course was outstanding; the second course was very good, but not as many options. However - I've never had such tender octopus. The drinks were wonderful and our server was lovely.
We also felt very safe - the space outside was lovely and tables were well-spaced. We will be back.
Enjoyed the food and service
I say down and asked our waitress toif there was any information behind the restaurant we should know like the story behind the concept or why it was called Ultreia. She admitted that she didn’t know and did not offer to find the information. I ended up pulling up the website and sharing the information on there with my family.
The concept here is small plates. Our server did not explain this or the menu.
We got the carrots, the croquettes de jambon, and the bacon wrapped dates to start. Most of the food was amazing. We ordered the steak medium, but when it came to the table it was dark red and barely cooked.
We sat upstairs, the noise wasn’t too bad but the smoke from the kitchen was a little annoying.
In all it was a good experience.
Had reservation for 2 at 6:30 on a Sunday. Hostess claimed it would be an hour to be seated outside. So she insisted we sit upstairs. 10 minutes after we sat down, she sat a 3-top outside with two empty 2-tops next to it. Upstairs dining area catches all the kitchen smoke and cooking aerosols. Smelled terrible. Braised ribs were greasy and underspiced. Otherwise the food was good. Server left us at the beginning of the second course (we did the prix fixe) and we didn’t see him again for at least 20 minutes. We skipped dessert and asked for the bill instead. I don’t think we’ll be back.
We were delighted to enjoy a perfect date night! Every dish we had was delicious and artfully presented. We sat outside on the patio. It was lovely. We’ll definitely recommend it and go back!
Food was excellent, drinks were underwhelming. We wanted something off menu and different, server asked us what we liked and ended up ringing in drinks from the menu that we didn’t want to begin with. For the price and the promise, gin drinks were underwhelming to say the least.
Respectfully I will follow up in such a manner in hopes that perhaps they are unaware of the issues we encountered on our weekend visit. Positives: the presentation of the dishes served were attractive. Saving grace- Ultreia sits at a prime spot where with beautiful weather on a Saturday morning, farmer’s market is at our footsteps, as well as very pleasant live music. Past that, it’s a toss up between the poor tasting food or the extremely poor service. Food: the plates came out one at a time with 10 minute increments in between. The food runners dropped off the food and darted away. No, may we get you anything else?, etc. I understand this is a “Gastroteca,” however, I’m not certain if the mad scientist behind the chef’s coat taste their food prior to sending it out, however, the crispy potatoes everyone looks forward to we’re soggy with a bland, no salt, sour tasting sauce to drench them in. The hot sauce requested for the eggs was the unfortunate same sauce that the potatoes were drenched in. The bread that came with the dish, again looked quite inviting, however, void of taste and drenched in what tasted like the old Denny’s liquid “butter” substitute. The bread with chocolate was the unbelievably same way. The chocolate didn’t taste like chocolate, but instead just incredibly sweet, bland, extra oily from the bread and way to salty. The coffee was the unfortunate icing on the cake. Also void of flavor and extremely weak. We saw our waitress once outside of having to wave her or anyone else down to wash all this down with an extra drop of water. Thank you for your consideration to this feedback. We are all always in need of improvement. Whether we are willing to admit it or not.
Delicious happy hour. Tried new items too since it was a little diferente than regular menu. Didn’t disappoint at all.
My mom visiting from Florida requested to come back here.
We sat outside since weather was fantastic.
Usually we get to Spain every other year or so, but with Covid we haven't been able to travel freely to Europe. Dining at Ultreia was a special treat that made us feel as though we had stepped onto the continent. Thank you to everyone who made us experience a memorable evening!
Positives: excellent food, very authentic and well prepared, knowledgeable and efficient service, excellent selection of gins and Amaros
Negatives: extremely poor wine selection- every wine we looked up was poorly rated - we rarely dine out without purchasing a bottle of wine, but did not find one worth drinking. Fortunately, the gin cocktails were delicious.
Fabulous food and great gin and tonic cocktails. Must visit!
Great ambiance, service and food! Definitely a treat!
Great meal - food and drink!
Selections were interesting. Both drink and food portions seemed small for the prices. Staff was kind and charming.
Staff was incredibly professional and informed. Great spot for an afternoon drink and snack.
The food and drinks were phenomenal. I especially enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates.
The service and food couldn’t be better!
I highly recommend it!
Service was great and food was phenomenal. Thank you so much for taking care of us!
Tinned fish...who would have thought?!?!
Ultreia is a great little spot in Denver's Union Station serving Latin inspired fare. We've been here twice and the food has been excellent both times. Three was a small issue in the kitchen this visit which increased the wait time on our brunch but the wait staff was still very attentive, kind, and apologetic when they realized there was an issue. Overall, I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Denverif they're looking for flavorful Latin dishes.
Did not bring out serving utensils for “family style dinning” which is not good. We had to ask twice. However the food was amazing and a very cool location. Got stuck in the corner table but didn’t mind it
We were greeted by a friendly hostess announced our reservation and were escorted to our table on the patio. My wife who works downtown asked for a table change as we were too close to the street. The hostess graciously reseated us…very nice! Eli our waiter who was in training did a great job with everything from our cocktails throughout our dinner and our desserts. The food was excellent and the portions just right.
My friend was moving away from Denver and this was her ‘last supper’. We chose Ultreia because of great experiences in the past. We had booked for four, but ended up with 5. They were really weird about adding a chair to our table. The servers were all really nice, but it took forever for someone to come take our drink and then food orders. The drink order was then forgotten and we had to put it back in again. The food was nice, but not great value for money. Not the fault of the restaurant, but the homeless problem down there was extreme, we were constantly bothered by people either walking through the patio area or coming up for a ‘chat’.
Excellent selection of pinxtos, bocadillas and tapas and an adjective staff - well worth a visit.
Most importantly, the food was excellent. Both the croquettes and the bacon wrapped dates were a must have. The service was adequate, although I suspect our server was new to industry.
The only letdown (and the reason this is not a 5* review) were the drinks. The restaurant hints at specializing in gin and tonics and neither of the G and Ts I ordered were worth it. Whoever is running the bar must believe in spirit forward cocktails, to the exclusion of any of the advertised supporting flavors, and in one case the tonic! Similarly, the sangria as nothing more than a glass of low quality red wine on ice… no fruit flavors period. My recommendation, enjoy the food, order a decent glass of wine and hope they bring the bar program into the 21st century at some point in the future.
great good & great service. definitely recommend if you are looking for a fun tapas experience.
Sat on the patio at Union Station on a warm summer night. Waiter was knowledgeable, personable and always right there when we needed him. We ordered several rounds of small and large plates. Our waiter had given us great recommendations. We had glazed Moorish spiced ribs, artichoke salad bacon wrapped dates, Trio de Jamon, and patatas bravas. All of which was to die for!
We sat outside on a beautiful day. We ordered the Trio of Jamon with two cheeses - Valdeon Blue and Tetilla - with a side of toasted bread. OMG - wonderful combination. Especially with a glass of Albarino. Also, ordered the Arthichok Salad - so flavorful and good portion along with two Olgas. Perfect amount of food for 2. Loved it. We will be back.
