Bummed we didn't find this place sooner! The fried chicken was amazing, as were the biscuits. But the best part of all was our server, Jamie! We'll be back.
A kitchen fire forced us to evacuate the restaurant.
It was excellent, table was ready for our reservation, great server, best southern food going, just a great meal
Our server was TOTALLY overwhelmed/undertrained. Took at least 15 minutes just to be acknowledged and get water. Courses came out in obscure order- and some not at all until we got mgr.
Even after mgr comped our meals and admitted they had totally botched things NO ONE ever helped us again!
Seems like everyone is short staffed, but poor managing here makes it worse.
I have eaten at the Tupelo Honey in Asheville. This was mediocre in comparison.
To start out our server (the bar manager) was totally wasted and kept taking shots behind the bar during one of their busiest times. Completely forgotten about for over 20 minutes then he kept forgetting our drink and food orders. If he had been sober im sure it would’ve been a pleasant experience given the food and atmosphere were fantastic. Also shout out to the manager Alex he made everything right and we walked out feeling less strange about our odd experience. I would go back and I would recommend to others but the bar manager should not be partying on busy nights. I would expect that from a hole in the wall not an upscale restaurant.
Drinks were great, service was outstanding per usual, however this time the food could have been better. Sat outside in the sun - they need more umbrellas with the summer heat that will be arriving soon.
Delicious elevated southern food. A great brunch place!
The food was very good. The drinks were even, not watered down nor too strong. We liked the fried pickles and chicken thighs best.
Fabulous food, absolutely Southern and definitely comfort.
The food was great as was the value for Restaurant Week, but the service was horrible. The host seemed like he would rather be anywhere else, forgot to give us a menu and silverware and it felt like when we asked for something we were just bothering our sever. Once the food came, they were basically done with us which wasn’t a great experience; especially because it wasn’t cheap.
Originally made reservation for an outside table, but because of the cooler temperatures, the host had moved us inside to stay warm. I call that service above and beyond expectations.
We had a wonderful dining experience.
We went during Denver's restaurant week and ordered from that menu - everything we got was very tasty. The only issue, really, was that there was too much food. We each got a big (terrific) biscuit w/. blueberry jelly, a full-size appetizer, a huge entree, and dessert (all as part of the restaurant week deal). My main course was the meatloaf and it was great - a little spicy, but in a good way. There was nothing on the menu that I wouldn't order again, honestly.
The only downside was I think they were a little understaffed or something. Getting drinks refilled was hit or miss, etc. Our waitress was very nice, but kind of scarce.
Kylie was an awesome server, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Favorites were biscuits, meatloaf, peach slaw, and banana pudding. Can’t wait to go back!
Best waiter we have ever had! Ajidon!!! Amazing chicken and awesome drinks as well!
We went to experience denver restaurant week and they were out of certain items but not willing to substitute other items. Our server was really nice but our service was slow. I feel as if she kept forgetting about us. The food was good but not the best that I have experienced there before. Overall good but not great
Smell coming from the vent was bad and expected more tastier food. Overall service was good, we had fun seeing friends
Amazing amazing amazing!! Our server was phenomenal and everything we ordered was delicious.
The food was amazing! The service and the patio were not great. Our server came around to take our order and bring us the check.. the appetizer came out after the entrees. While we were sitting on the patio someone outside for pepper sprayed and the wind brought it over to us .. yikes! I know that is the not their fault, but I would opt for inside dining next time.
I love this place, top to bottom! My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and had the chef make whatever they felt like for us. Highly recommend!!
To give the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was an unexpected post baseball game crowd or Denver Restaurant Week or the difficulty in hiring staff in this Covid employment relief era, but the service was so slow the servers apologized repeatedly during our dinner. The food was good and reminiscent of the dinner we enjoyed at the flagship restaurant in Asheville a couple of years ago. It may take awhile before we go back, at least until we are confident staffing is up to par with diner's needs.
I miss the blueberry cheesecake that used to be on the menu pre Covid.
Our server was Jaime and probably the best server I’ve had in a while! The food was amazing. I’ll definitely be going again!!
So delicious and very cute restaurant. I loved our server, I wish I could remember his name.
One of my favorite places to go for any meal! Food is always great! The servers are fun and attentive! And the location is easy to get to when driving or walking
Our waiter was horrible and tried to joke to make it better an it just made it worse her timing was off an our app was warm not hot off the grill
Food was great but the service was really poor.
We went here for restaurant week and found an amazing value! We go to RW every year and Tupelo Honey had one of the best values for your money. We really felt like we got to try so much of the menu! Really loved the fried green tomatoes and spicy cauliflower! My husband really enjoyed his meatloaf 😀Service was good as well!
Had the shrimp and grits which was very bland. There was no seasoning on the shrimp at all. Husband liked his catfish, but not his sides. Daughter had the burger which she thought was dry. Service was slow, but it was Saturday night. Liked the ambiance and location, though.
We had an early dinner here. Appetizers were very good. We had already finished our appetizers before our dinner order was even taken. Dinners were both average. Meatloaf and sides were not good. Fried chicken was good but the mac and cheese was not good at all. Waters were never refilled. Waitress seemed off put that we did not order drinks.
The food at Tupelo Honey was very good. We especially enjoyed to the blackened catfish and the wonderful fried green tomatoes appetizer.
Seemed rushed as far as the quality of food. But great location and beautiful interior and patio!
Everything was excellent until the manager came over and in the RUDEST way possible told us to leave based on table times. We get that we stayed past but there was no warning, it was unintentional, and from someone in the industry it was handled the complete wrong way. But our waitress and food were great.
Had a great time! Would definitely come back again.
We really enjoyed the food but the service was terrible. Had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes, then sat at the table for at least 10 minutes and we flagged someone down to see if we had a server. No one seemed to know anything but finally someone took our drink order but got it wrong and delivered the wrong drink. No one came back so we talked to the manager who took great care of us in the end. Not sure if I’ll return.
Food was amazing !
Brunch at Tupelo Honey was wonderful. I had the rainbow bowl and my son the chicken on mac and cheese waffles. - Delicious on both counts. Our server, Michael did a great job, despite working behind the bar and serving clients at tables. He suggested we start with biscuits that were served with butter and blueberry jam - very nice. He never made us feel rushed and made excellent suggestions. Will definitely be back.
I went for Southern food and was highly disappointed.
My mom & I both got sick the next day, after eating here. :( Really, really sick!
Our server was stoned, which I could care less about, as long as you can still do your job. She was super slow. We waited 30 mins after our meal was finished & plates were cleared, for boxes & the check. I had to ask multiple times. Eh, I still tipped her well.
The booth we were seated in resembled that of a Dennys. Ambiance was lacking.
I got the vegetarian breakfast bowl. Super liquidy & lacking in flavor. Barely touched it. The server asked if I wanted a box and I declined. She never asked if there was an issue with the dish.
Fried green tomatoes and fried pickles were super yummy, though! Cocktails were excellent 👌 Other than my dish, everyone really liked their food.
Won't be back or recommend but I'm glad my guests enjoyed, overall.
Get the biscuits. They are really good, particularly the blueberry jam. They are filling so one order is good for two people. The honey dusted fried chicken (dark meat) was dry; really dry and with a bite, so if you don’t like hot spicy, you may not want to order this entree. It didn’t work for me, but the waitress and the chef were accommodating and brought me a different dish, which I appreciated. The Brussels sprouts were crispy but bitter. The Rainbow Avocado Bowl was the winner. If you love roasted beet humus, you will love this dish. Ambience was lively but quiet enough to carry on a conversation (though I am not sure that would be the case once they start serving at full capacity).
