Tired of the loosely French inspired humdrum of restaurants popping up across the city of London? Do you like holidays? Do you like cold drinks and warm service? If you've answered yes to one or more of these then perhaps Tollington's can refresh both your pallet and your mind

The idea came from a mirror in an antiques market and a love for a more informal approach to dining, the result a chippy in North London with church pews bolted to the walls to be leaned on and eaten from. The focus is on fish but the menu transcends just fish, leaving no stone unturned in the never ending quest for flavour

Split between two rooms, the kitchen and bar shared by customers as they perch on bar stools and enjoy dinner and a show. The back room - lower lighting, lower seating, a slight calm compared to the front room. Works of art from friends of the restaurant adorn the walls and floors

I had a high expectation for tollington fish bar after reading lots of great reviews. Food was good/ok. Too much oil in every dishes for my preference. People were friendly and nice but they totally forgot to tell us about specials when we were choosing the menu which I found a bit disappointing. My husband liked little chistra tomato & I enjoyed the monkfish rice. My son liked the chip bravas. The price was not cheap compared to the portion size. Overall it was pleasant experience and enjoyable a Saturday evening.

Incredible food, particularly the lemon dover sole! Service was very quick and the food was so fresh! Definitely reccomend!

Excellent food. Great buzz. Two issues: all the food came at once - much prefer to have it over a period of time, order chosen by the restaurant. Our clothes really did smell after the meal. Wonder if the extractor fans need an upgrade?

My first trip. although my wife had been previously. Thoroughly enjoyable, our group of 4 was able to eat at a table too. A slight disappointment that one fish dish was served cold (although it was taken off the bill, to the Tollington's credit), and that maybe the dishes are less generous in the size to what they might have been (not unusual today, sadly).
