The Village Pub continues to re-set the bar for excellence across the board. Yet another splendid meal, service, wine and experience! A wonderful treat.
The Village Pub is a very comfortable facility for dinner. Service is good, ambiance is good, food is mostly good.
Celebrated my and my friend's birthday and we had the best time! Our servers were just so accommodating and really the food was impeccable, delicious. The dessert selection was amazing! And the restaurant is so clean. I am in love with the plate designs as well.
Overall, we all had a great time and would definitely come back again!
We had a wonderful dining experience
Thank you so much for your kind review.
I've been coming to the Village for over 15 years. The food has ALWAYS been excellent, as with the service. Somehow, this last visit left me feeling my meal here isn't that special anymore....which is hard to say because I always felt the Village is an institution of excellence. I realize finding good help if hard to come by these days, though if you want to stay on your game, having the service align with your meal, both need to mirror each other, at least that was what I encountered in the past. Don't get me wrong, the Village Pub was very good on this night, though it could have been much better had the service mirror the meal.
This is one of my favorite spots in the bay area. Quiet, elegant, amazing food and even more amazing service. Highly recommend!!
Dear Katie, Thank you so much for your kind review.
Dining outdoors on their risk-managed patio is like a mini-vacation for us! And the service people were so warm and friendly, and made us few extra special. Wonderful!
Thank you so much for your kind review. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit.
Wonderful meal, unpretentious service. Best food we’ve had in a while!
Dear Kira, Thank you so much for your kind review, We look forward to welcoming you again.
Each course at the Village Pub is meticulous prepared and simply fresh and delicious. With so many extras from the chef (including madelines at the end), we left feeling so satiated and happy.
Best meal in a long time! The service could use a little more polish - very nice, but a bit slow betw courses and took a long time to get our server's attention to pay at the end.
The bread was not fresh and the fish was tasteless. Everything was overpriced for the quality.
Dear Marcia, Thank you for taking your time to give us your feedback which I will share with our culinary team in an effort to improve. I would like to discuss this further my email is firstname.lastname@example.org Please let me know a good time to contact you.
We had a table at the outside seating area for lunch and were totally comfortable. The service was amazing, food well presented and incredibly tasty, and we had an amazing celebration of being together for the first time in a while. The experience was very special.
Dear Steven, Thank you so much for your kind review, we look forward to your next visit.
Wonderful meal and great service.
Thank you so much for your kind review.
Absolutely amazing food and service! Wish I could dine at The Village Pub every week!!
Dear Carie, Thank you so much for your kind review, and we are open seven days a week!
Our dinner was delicious and Mel treated us to cheerful and friendly service as always.
Thank you so much for your kind review, we are lucky to have Melody be part of The Village Pub, We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
The waiter provided a level of service much inferior to the one we have had in many instances in our menu visits to the restaurant. Empty glasses, no special treats after dessert, etc. Other tables with other waiters had them as it happened to us in many other occasions.
Very unfortunate to have ML as our waiter.
We hope it improves.
A wonderful place for a special night out. The food and service was again impeccable. We have been many times and we love that it is always consistently great. The only set back is the price and the inflated cost of the supplements. That leaves a bitter aftertaste as it is just too high for what it is and the guests feels a bit taken advantage off. $40 extra for a filet or $35 extra for a small portion off lobster is just too high when you already pay $89 for three corses. Other than that it is our favorite place for a celebration and we are glad to see that the service stayed so consistent even during Covid. Thank you
Thank you so much for for your kind review, We look forward to your next visit.
With so many positive reviews we were looking forward to a fine holiday dinner date. We decided to try this place out and were glad that the restaurant was opened the daye after Christmas. The host was robotic and not warm with his greeting as we checked in which started off awkward. A prix fixe menu was offered. Everything we had was exceptionally good. The Coq au Vin which had a few pearl onions that were still quite raw and was so pungent, pretty much ruined the dish after I accidentally bit into one thinking it was a radish. The outside dining was a bit dim. We had trouble reading the menu and had to use our phone. It was a bit challenging to see everything on our dishes. The chicken breast in the Coq au Vine came out pretty dry, which was a surprise considering everything else was very good. The foie gras and mushroom soups were excellent. The chocolate souffle was delicious. Our only major disappointment was the lack of service and care by our waitress, Teressa. We often had to signal across the room to get her attention, or we had to request the bread server for assistance. He was probably the best help we had tonight. Our waitress never once asked us how our meal was or if we would like anything else. She showed no interest in serving us, and since the 20% service fee was automatically charged onto our bill, she didn’t give it another thought. It was an unpleasant experience with Teressa that sour our dining experience here at this very promising elegant pub and great menu. One bad apple. We were looking forward to a lovely holiday dinner experience and we feel good service is key to any wonderful restaurant.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize our service did not meet our standards. I will pass your experience to our server in an effort to improve. I would love to discuss this with you further. Please let me know a good time for me to call you. My email is email@example.com…
Great Bruch! The food & service were both excellent, even the kids really enjoyed this meal!
Thank you so much for your kind review.
A meal here is an investment and in our case - well worth every penny. Fantastic service, incredible food and a dining experience we will treasure and remember for years. Wanted to do something special this year and this fit the bill. Five courses of delicious, slow, lovely pleasure. We came for brunch and frankly skipped dinner as we were all so satiated and still in a state of foodie bliss! Can’t wait to come back!
Thank you so much for your kind review, We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
The food was fabulous and hot. The best meal I have ever had at the Pub. The evening was enhanced by our server Kathryn. who couldn't have been professional. a lovely start to Christmas
We ate here for the prix fixe Christmas Eve dinner ($140), treating ourselves -- and treating ourselves to the wine pairing as well ($75). We ate outside (a good thing), but the wind was blowing (a bad thing). No one ever bothered to light the candle on our table -- or notice it wasn't lighted (Yes, we should have asked...), and at times our very pleasant waitress seemed to disappear. The food was, for the price, a disappointment, most especially the prime rib, which may have been aged but did NOT taste as if it had been. It was beautifully cooked but had little flavor. The wine pairings, on the other hand, were lovely. I have indicated that I "would not recommend the restaurant to a friend" for this particular sort of meal. In years past I have had memorable meals here, but I won't return any time soon. Too big a risk for my pocketbook
Consistent good food and service. Our go to place.
Great for a special occasion! Each dish was delicious.
The food was absolutely incredible, but the experience was quite rushed. We weren’t halfway done with our cocktails when they dropped appetizers and wine pairings. Then the mains came so quickly after the appetizers that we were sitting for what seemed like 10 minutes waiting for the wine pairings to arrive. It felt like they were in a hurry to get us out the door. Also, typically truffles or other sweets are brought at the end and we didn’t receive any. After paying the check and noticing other tables with these I asked and they brought them. We’ve had so many amazing meals at this place and love it so much. This isn’t the normal experience—normally things are paced quite well. Still, it’s disappointing to feel rushed through such an amazing meal.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for not providing our normal service standards and you felt rushed. I will pass your experience to our entire team in an effort to improve.
The Village Pub is more than a pub. Excellent cuisine, attentive service and the perfect spot for a special occasion. The format for dinner is now three courses from an excellent menu, making a leisurely evening.
Service was fantastic but there was an execution problem with parts of the meal. The garnish was the same on every entree and we had all of them. The portions were very large or very small dependent on your entree. Dessert was terrible. The chocolate tart was nice and well executed but the beignets, the apple cake and the soufflé were various degrees of terrible. Over cooked (apple cake), undercooked (soufflé) and cooked in fish oil (beignets). For a 1 star Michelin it’s pretty unacceptable. And there was no discussion from chef or manager when it was brought up. We weren’t expecting a concession but some acknowledgement would have gone a long way.
The restaurant has a comfy feel to it with its red velvet seatings as well as red velvet on the walls.
Our waiter was attentive and discreet.
The four of us agreed that our food was delicious- I ordered the duck breast which had a nice crust and was cooked to perfection.
The chocolate souffle was divine.
We definitely will come back !
Absolutely incredible experience. Could not have celebrated graduation better.
For the first time in a long, long time, our experience was not great. Endive salad (2 of them) had clearly been frozen, perhaps mistakenly, then thawed and served. Leaves of the endive and frisée were translucent (water logged appearance), which is what happens in this case. The salad had clearly not been made to order, but rather previously stored in the fridge (which was likely too cold). I would have sent it back but it would have been a more negative experience overall to do so.
Halibut was great, but monkfish was so tough it had to be sawed with a knife.
This time the upside-down spice cake tasted dry, (several months ago that was not the case) and it would have benefitted from being served warm.
Service was excellent. But a bill of nearly $800 for four people should be better than this.
The food was not bad, but the service and additional costs did not sit well given the overall cost of everything.
It was our special occasion 25th anniversary. Overall good experience but for vegetarian food this was very pricey and not many choices. Expected more based on the reviews but all these reviews were about meat entree. Definitely will not choose if the menu is not updated to include more vegetarian options
Probably my favorite restaurant this year, ambiance, service and food were all top notch.
Thank you so much for your kind review Amy.
The food, wine, service and ambience were all perfect Eugene, our waiter was the best we have ever experienced! His connection with your many offerings in both food and wine - and with us was truly spectacular spectacular. Such a festive experience!! Will come back often - although we live in Marin County.
Thank you so much for your kind review and for visiting us from Marin County. We look forward to welcoming you again.
Top notch experience as usual. One of the best restaurants on the Peninsula.
Awesome food and service. We definitely enjoyed the occasion.
We really enjoyed the birthday night here. Everything is just perfect here. Service was excellent. But I do think the dessert menu might need more highlight and updated. We WILL come back here again for sure.
Perfect place for a birthday brunch! They look after you so well and the food was delicious!
Excellent and delicious brunch choices. Beignets to die for!
Amazing experience, delicious food and service was above and beyond. Complimentary meals by the staff was amazing!
Very attentive staff. Beautiful ambiance. Cozy atmosphere. Loved iit!
