Went there for my Engagement dinner and it was one of the best dinning experiences. The filet my Fiancé got was so good and I got the boneless Ribeye , only competition they have food wise is Capitol grill but Mastros atmosphere is hands down the winner on that one . The wait staff was great also very relaxed but professional I will definitely be going back .

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with another couple. Our experience was amazing. The staff waited on us with exceptional customer service. The food was delicious. Our waiter Robert was awesome and the live music was an unexpected plus!!!

My guest and I felt completely sick after eating. And all day the following. Always have a wonderful time when we visit this time service wasn’t up to par. Still love mastros It’s just that my stomach didn’t. 🤒

I brought my wife here for her birthday and a close friend also tagged along. As usual, the food and the experience along with the presentation and ambiance of everything was just perfect :) everyone’s favorite as usual will always be the buttercake! see you next time Mastro’s!!!

For paying nearly $400 for dinner for two people, this experience was very underwhelming. We got a secluded table in what felt like an extension of the bar even when there were plenty of tables in the main dining space. We were here celebrating our anniversary and typically they send butter cake for celebrations, this time we got chocolate cake that tasted stale. Overall, not a great experience.

We had a family birthday celebration at Mastro’s since it’s one of the birthday girls favorite restaurants for special occasions. You can’t beat the ambiance and service. David was outstanding as were the rest of the service team. The food is good but I have to say for the price I have eaten in better. Being from NY we have exceptional steakhouses. Cocktails are very pricey. The best part of the meal is the butter cake, outstanding!!!

I went with my GF about six-eight times in 2019; sometimes she paid and sometimes I did. I'd say I dropped about 2K in here in 2019. My GF is a 'baller' and doesn't bat an eye at ordering a $50 glass of cab. Well I went in to celebrate my daughters 17th B-day and was the only one drinking out of a table of three people. My 75 year old mother was on medication and couldn't drink. Long story short on a night that wasn't very busy (Wednesday 1/29) I spent a little over $300 but felt like the server didn't think we were 'baller' enough and so she rarely ever checked on us. My glass of Oregon sparkling wine was empty for 20 minutes and she didn't notice until our food came out and then asked if I wanted another glass which I declined saying "I have precious cargo to drive." I'm in the wine business and two glasses of bubbles are well within my limit I was just turned off by feeling unimportant because on this visit I wasn't going to be dropping $400 for two people. It was very disappointing.

So we came here to see what true high end dining was like and for the most part the food was amazing minus a few things that kind of brought down the score. We got the prime rib chateau medium with a lobster tail, 12 oz filet medium, duck fat potatoes, wagyu meatballs, as well as the signature butter cake and I believe it was the chocolate sin cake. We also tried a few cocktails: the French kiss, the french open, strawberry bliss, and the YKK. So first up, the food. The free basket of bread they bring to the table is delicious. Theres a sort of soft rosemary bread, tasted great and went well with the tiny tomato soup they brought which was also delicious. Theres a crunchy thin parmesan bread which was like a fancy cheez-it. There was some olive loaf, and lastly our favorite was the jalapeno cheddar pretzel thing that was in there. The wagyu meatballs were very big, came with two, and it they were soft and went great with the crunchy parmesan bread (although it came with it's own bread as well). Then came the main course. The filet was perfect. Best steak ive ever had hands down. By contrast however the prime rib chateau was dry and super chewy. It took as long to eat one bite of this as it did to eat the entire filet. The lobster tail it came with was also burnt and the clarified butter tasted like water. The duck fat potatoes were amazing. Both desserts were tasty but deadly and we saved most of them for leftovers. Lastly, the drinks. The drinks were all great but the YKK could have used something sweet to offset the jalapeno flavor. It tasted like straight vodka with a jalapeno floating in it. The liquor they use is not cheap and it shows in the product you receive. Nothing was weak and it all went down smooth. Overall the things that were done right were great but the bad chateau and lobster knocks off a star for sure. The waiter was nice but a little awkward and inattentive. The cleaning staff was great. Would do this level of dining again but not here.

Reservation was at 7:30, they didn't seat us until almost 8:30 after we went to hostess then Manager several times. They said they couldn't kick people out of their seats even though they had already paid the check. Additionally our waitress didn't bring out our drinks until the appetizers were already finished. She also gave us the wrong salad. Super sloppy, poor service and atmosphere was lacking. Won't go back to the Penthouse. Maybe they need to get their management aligned with the other Mastros.

Mastro’s revamped their penthouse level restaurant. The ambiance is way better, the menu is a bit different and more pricey. They took away the DJ and added live singers. They really classed up the penthouse level restaurant.

Onto the food. Our double cut 40 oz steak was over cooked and while they offered to redo it, they ran out of that cut of steak we had ordered and offered us 2 separate bone in rib eye steaks. They redid all the sides, but our steaks came way under cooked for medium rare. Come on Mastro’s...

Anyways, our waiter was awesome and very attentive. We were there for a birthday and enjoyed the new revamped space. Would try it again, but come on Mastro’s don’t fail us again.

They put is in a crap table on a seen on the floor that was super wobbly :: then they made pass around the food instead of placing it in our table. Sorry we are not industry movie stars but we didn’t deserve to be hidden treated poorly

We celebrated double birthday and we had great time. Food was great, ambiance fun, but one thing that irritated all of us were two things; the waitress was continuously adding champagne to our glasses before we even had a half of glass! We didn’t come for a marathon of drinking there, was just to have a nice and relaxing time. The other thing was that servers constantly were trying to remove our dishes even though some of us were still eating. One would expect from the restaurant priding themselves of the best of everything, to know the table etiquette - YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE PLATES UNTILL EVERYONE IS FINISHED! But then, we do not have professional waiters in most restaurants in California, can’t expect much of actors, and others filling their career gap. Too bad, this restaurant has a great potential, but service is downgrading it to lower level diner. A few doors down, the management can go and learn the service lesson from Spago
