The Penthouse at Mastro's, Beverly Hills
Loved it! Food was amazing!
Wonderful experience. The food is absolutely amazing, you have to try this place!! Really good.
Everything was above and beyond our expectations!
The best steak i've ever ate! Live music, cozy atmosphere, delicious food - all in one place. It was really the best choice for our special occasion.
We celebrated double birthday and we had great time. Food was great, ambiance fun, but one thing that irritated all of us were two things; the waitress was continuously adding champagne to our glasses before we even had a half of glass! We didn’t come for a marathon of drinking there, was just to have a nice and relaxing time. The other thing was that servers constantly were trying to remove our dishes even though some of us were still eating. One would expect from the restaurant priding themselves of the best of everything, to know the table etiquette - YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE PLATES UNTILL EVERYONE IS FINISHED! But then, we do not have professional waiters in most restaurants in California, can’t expect much of actors, and others filling their career gap. Too bad, this restaurant has a great potential, but service is downgrading it to lower level diner. A few doors down, the management can go and learn the service lesson from Spago
We came here for our 2 year anniversay. Had nice music and great vibe. The food was good. Loved the strawberry bliss.
Our server and all her team were great as well as the restaurant GM who came by to greet and check on us. I know the pricing will be equal to that area but $25-$40 for a cocktail or glass of wine is way too much. Food was priced as expected. Everything was delicious and the setting is nice. Also presentation of food was great
Amazing. Food was exceptional and service was amazing. Friendly yet professional. Would have liked to be informed of additional charges ie.. truffle butter not as condiments but as extra charge add one. We did not know that the item was a cost of additional $15 and did not even indulge as the ribeye was amazing on its own. Otherwise love the new menu and a friendly upbeat vibe from service rather than the stuffy old time additive of the past. Thank you!!
I’ve been coming every year for Christmas and through-out the year visit Mastro’s across the US and I was very disappointed on Christmas Day also my daughters birthday. The waitress dropped the center light into my martini and didn’t offer me a new one. We asked for bread and we didn’t get our bread until the meal came. I’m surprised she works at such a well known establishment. The food this year was also very poor. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but I was not served the usual amazing food Mastro’s is known for. My daughters birthday will be spent elsewhere next year :(
My nephew and I headed over to the Penthouse at Mastro's BH for Christmas dinner. I've been to Mastro's in BH and Palm Desert many times, but have never dined in the Penthouse. A coworker recommended it. In my reservation, I requested a Hi-top table. We arrived early and hung out at the bar. The Penthouse is very nice, but small. There was a signer and piano player. They had amazing voices. However, we ended up being seated right next to the piano. It was too loud. Next, I brought my own wine...a very expensive 1999 Italian. The server/hostess seated us and disappeared. Came back 10 minutes later and asked if I would like the wine opened...I said yes and asked for it to be decanted. She started to open the bottle and then nervously ran off. Another waitress came over. I asked what happened and she said that she was probably having problems with the cork. Ok...well she just ran off with my $200 bottle of wine. She came back with a decanter filled with wine along with a silver tray with a cork broken in 2. No bottle. Didn't say a word...just walked away and never came back again. This is MASTRO'S....I'm thinking what the heck is going on here. Next, we sat at the table for about 20 minutes with glasses of water and no bread. Finally I see a guy walk by with a huge tray of bread baskets. They all went to the other side of the room. When the guy walked by 10 minutes later, I asked him if we could get bread. He told me that they were running behind and are backed up. They are baking more but they have to go through the 1st and 2nd floors before they can take care of the Penthouse. Again...WTF!
15 minutes later we did get bread. I ordered the 18 ounce bone-in fillet. Their signature steak. I ask why the menu only has a few of the sides. She said that they only have a handful of the sides for the Penthouse. WHAT! After I order the waitress comes back and tells me that they don't serve the 18 oz bone-in fillet in the Penthouse. Again WTF!
An extremely enjoyable holiday dinner was had by all.
Disappointed the menu was so small. Fabulous waiter!
Olivia was a 10, service perfect, not overdo it by helicopter waiter; beautiful inside and out;
knew of new mastro's in san francisco; flawless.
Steak was too salty for me. Also truffle Potrero was salty.. Bread was salty....
Omg love love loved it! Our servers were the nicest and they recommended the best meals on the menu! I’m definitely coming back!
Food was great! Dane was a fantastic waiter and really took great care of us. We would definitely go back. Kansas city steak bone in was delish. i wouldn't get the lamb chops again but the lobster was tasty and the mushrooms were so good. They made my daughters 19th birthday one to remember.
Food was mediocre, rushed and just wasn’t tasty like it normally is,
It was good!
Celebrated a birthday , ordered one of the tomahawks was over cooked , ordered the specialty lobster Mac and it was very bland and basic and the corn was over cooked as well. I have enjoyed several mastros over the years but never this penthouse location. Disappointed on the lack of effort and focus on a meal that was several hundreds of dollars.
We had a great time and listening to music while eating was great
I had a wonderful time at the Penthouse. The best food I’ve ever had. Exceptional food and a memorable evening. The chef is exceptional as constantly delivering high quality cuisine.
Mastros is usually very good. The steaks and sides are amazing! The fact that they serve you at the table is also a nice add.
The Ceasar salad we ordered was probably the worst I’ve had. The lettuce used were the dark green parts which made for a super wilty salad which was combined with too much dressing. They mixed in the anchovies with the salad (vs on the side) and it was just not good. Also, the penthouse had way too many people, too many servers - it was way too loud. Going to give BH Mastro’s a break.
All the time we Mack reservation to Mastro’s on open table we gate the worst table and because that we getting also the Wars service
Great food and the manager was super nice and attentive as was my server .
Noisy and did not appreciate the seat away from everyone so still digesting what was the rationale for the seat placement . Hmm
They made my birthday absolutely beyond special THREE FREE desserts and perfectly poured drinks absolutely amazing.
The food was amazing, and the waitress was super friendly!! I love Mastro’s
Great food ... every year food is exceptional staff as well A+++++ always
My husband and I had great time on Thanksgiving! Great service, Olivia was very helpful!
We dined here tonight celebrating our anniversary and hoping to use our $50 reward but when the check arrived, we noticed the $50 reward was not applied and the manager at the restaurant was not able to redeem it even though the reservation was made through the link provided with the $50 reward.
Extremely classy atmosphere, our server was so friendly and helpful. She suggested many different steak options letting us decide what we’d like the most. We went with the Bone in Kansas city. It was good just needed some more juiciness.
Their signature butter cake was delicious.
Definitely going back!
Very disappointed. All of our food came out cold. Manager said he would take care of us but basically comped the food that they had to remake except one steak that my 9 year old was eating cold because he doesn’t know better. I’ve given the penthouse 4 tries in the last 6 months and been disappointed each time. Tired of wasting my money there. Positive note Trish our server tried her best and was very pleasant and can’t fault her. Will stick with second floor or ocean club in Malibu.
I’ve been to Mastro’s Steakhouse plenty of times, but this was my first time in the Penthouse and not on a date, just with the girls. I loved the music, and of course my favorite was the butter cake dessert. The Sugar Plum Fairy drink was delish! My friends had the fillet steak which they liked, I had the Seared Sea Scallops with Squid Ink Pasta and Caviar Buerre Blanc. It was a little too salty for me so I didn’t eat much. I think next time I will try the prawns or branzino since I don’t really eat red meat. Since I wasn’t a fan of the scallops, I made the sides my dinner which was really good. We had the lobster mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, elote sweet corn, sauted mushrooms and creamed spinach. My fave was the elote sweet corn, mushrooms, and creamed spinach. Unfortunately we didn’t get to finish the creamed spinach because some loser patron named Deral walked by and spilled my friend’s water into our spinach and all he said was sorry and kept walking. Who does that??? So now that our yummy creamed spinach turned into a soggy soup thanks to Deral, we had to let our waiter know. Our waiter and the staff were so helpful and offered us another one, but we were stuffed so we didn’t take it but did ask for a butter cake since that’s my fave and I was going to get it anyway. It was on the house and the manager was very apologetic even though it wasn’t her fault or anyone else who worked there. We appreciated that and had a great time catching up on a Friday night.
Ok...i've been coming here for years...but this visit was something else! From the minute we were greeted, the hostess was super friendly and all around just awesome. usually it's someone who's a bit on the serious side, but she was very friendly and engaging as we walked out of the elevator and essentially set the tone for the rest of the evening. After we were seated, our waitress Alison greeted us and she was such a delight. her sense of humor was something else... what topped off the whole night... she walked up to our table after we finished, looked one of my friends dead in the eye and said "i just wanted to let you know tonight we ran out of butter cake" and the look on my buddies face was priceless!" we called the manager over as well. That group they had working on Friday night was super awesome...friendly... and made the whole night such a pleasure!
GREAT SERVICE! GREAT VIBE! ENERGETIC AMBIANCE! LIVE MUSIC! ALL STAFF VERY FRIENDLY WITH GREAT ATTITUDE AND BEAUTIFUL SMILES! LOVED THE BIRTHDAY MENU PRESENTATION AND COMPLIMENTARY DESSERT! AWESOME! WILL DEFINITELY 100% BE BACK!
Bring back the dj.
My server was the best
We had a wonderful family dinner. They were kind to redo my daughter's steak and didn't charge us for it and the dessert. The singer was outstanding. We will be back!
Very good. Excellent food, excellent drinks. We sat on the outside terrace and pretty much everything was perfect except we had to wait a long time to pay our bill. Not certain whether it was an Internet problem or something else.
Delicious food. At par service. Atmosphere was great with live music. Crowd was meh.
The penthouse is the spot to be! The past 2 times I have been there the service has been exceptional and the food is just amazing! Great spot for a special occasion or a nice date. Live music was great addition to the whole evening. Amanda as always never disappoints! Thank you so much again!!
