It is always a pleasure to have Dinner at the Palm. Always have great service, food, drink, ambience and wait staff. Try the crab cakes--Maryland style with large lump meat.
Was very disappointed with the service. Arrived at a peak hour time during Valentine’s Day. Upon arrival was great by the hostess who was very nice. My girlfriend and I once seated were not greeted by a wait staff personnel for 20min. 20MIN!! Seriously, that’s just where it begins. Once we were greeted we were notified that the “Valentine’s Day Special” was sold out. Yep, that’s right... SOLD OUT! Ok now I get that v-day is a busy night but that’s the reasons place “like this” takes reservations. This tells me that this restaurant clearly does not have a management staff that can run the restaurant. Wait for it... the V-day special is the specialty of the restaurant, LOBSTER! This was absolutely the worst experience of “Fine Dining” that I have ever experienced.
Well I have to say I’ve never written a restaurant survey before, but I thought I would this time. I’m not even sure if it even matter, but here it goes. You know, when I book the restaurant I thought it would be a special night for Valentine’s Day. But it was a disaster. Tables around me were complaining but I didn’t understand the gravity of their anger until we were sat at a table. It literally took 45 minutes for us to get our food. And when the food came out the steak was cold. It really surprised me. The restaurant took care of us, but the night was pretty much ruined. I really didn’t know to say. I did not want to get mad and make a scene and I really didn’t know what to complain about. And I still left the $30 tip to the server who I believe had no control of what was going on. Supposedly there was a problem in the kitchen. I guess the only thing for me to say is if you have a holiday where a lot of people are expected, you might want to put contingency plans in place to better serve your customers. Again management took care of my order and it wasn’t about the money, it was about tonight which pretty much set the tone for the rest of the evening. This is my first and only review and I hope they learn from it. Thanks.
We have enjoyed The Palm for years and Sunday evening was no exception! The food was delicious, although my daughter was disappointed that the Prime Rib was not available. Rather odd considering our reservation was at 5:00pm and the restaurant was not busy.
The Birthday donuts and staff singing was a nice touch for my husband!
Excellent service and great steak and lobster
Service was great, food was mediocre (for the price, anyway). Steak wasn’t seasoned and bland.
Service was great - attentive and knowledgeable staff. Food - well, the au gratin potatoes were wonderful - cheesy and tasty. Lobster - was tough to extract the meat, not much in the claw and almost without flavor, even for lobster. The "sauce" for the mixed berry dessert was runny and no flavor. I listed it for Special Occasions only because you would not want to go there consistently with the cost involved.
Excellent steak. Had the 12 oz wagyu ribeye. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Will definitely be back.
This restaurant and service was really great, but definitely extremely pricey. i thought the food was good, but it was not good enough to be as expensive as it was. fun evening out for special occasions though!
Visiting Denver, love the Nashville The Palm, I knew this was the place to bring my friends for dinner, after another friend recommended it. Todd the manager here made sure we were taken care of at every turn. His staff is excellent and are all very good at what they do as well as very friendly.
Food was amazing, atmosphere amazing, and cocktails to perfection!
Next visit we’re coming back here again!
Out of lobster which was a downer. Never experienced that at a Palm before. Hopefully next go around they’ll be back to normal.
Great quality food cooked simply. The crab cocktail is fantastic. definitely a place to return to.
Receive the special of the prime rib which was an incredibly huge portion. Not a big fan of a la carte sides. Would rather have a smaller portion of prime rib with a side. The food was good but not one that I would come back time and time again.
We had a wonderful server (thank you Donald) who steered us in the right direction on all choices. Bone-in rib-eye and lamb chops exceptional - done to perfection and excellent flavor. The Wedge salad was excellent - an interesting take on a steak house classic. Loved it. Good cocktails - steak house portions!
We'll be back.
I have eaten At the Palm in Denver many times. I have also eaten at Palm restaurants in several other cities and I may be one of the few who dined there this week, who actually dined regularly at the original Palm upstairs on 1st avenue in New York with my parents more than 50 years ago. Usually the experience is first rate. This time not quite up to expectations. The room is fine and service was excellent if a bit intrusive ( too many how are you enjoying your food.). The food was not up to par. I had a caprese type salad to start that was ok but the tomatoes were tough. The main course I chose is a long term favorite, veal Parmesan with spaghetti. The veal was tough, poorly seasoned and not well prepared. If there was any coating I couldn’t find it. The pasta was over cooked and sodden. I could take you to ten Italian restaurants in Denver where this classic dish would have been much better at half the price. The pasta was just unacceptable. I didn’t eat it. Others had better dishes but none was outstanding. Dessert was key lime pie that just seemed uninspired. Overly sweet and with a heavy crust. A cappuccino was mediocre.
Too bad. Maybe this was an off night. We didn’t order steak or lobster they are famous for, so I can’t tell how they are handling those dishes now. Those are usually great classics for them. But the Italian menu has always been very good at Palm restaurants given their heritage. This time it didn’t fly.
The location is good and the ambiance fine but it was an expensively priced mediocre meal. They need some work.
