It was a lovely Sunday night but our main water was non existent We had to remind him that he still had to take our order. That has never happened. Support staff was great but to spend 300$ and ha e an ok I do t know if we’ll go back.
Our server was extremely pushy. Upon sitting we ordered a bottle of still water, two double gimlets. When it game time to order we were ordering the $60 lobster spaghetti and a starter, we told him we would start with that and see where we were at, he rudely said we had not "hit the minimum and we needed to order something else right now". We were going to order another round of drinks, probably more food, this was a Monday afternoon with plenty of open tables, not a packed Saturday night where he needed to be that aggressive about flipping tables. The table next to us was so loud, on their phones yelling/talking, the table next to them complained to the another server, he told our server who was their server too, he did nothing. We ended up settling and going elsewhere for more drinks and dessert.
18th Birthday of just daughter
Service was great everyone is nice! Service was fast and food was great.
Really great place to celebrate special occasions... great food and awesome ambiance
Disappointing. We have always enjoyed this spot but the entire experience has changed. I don’t think I will even consider returning.
Overall good experience, but extremely noisy with close spaces.
Reunion with the love of my life. The Ivy was the perfect spot!
All around overrated. The restaurant was running over an hour behind in seating people who had reservations. They did offer free champagne to mediate guest frustration. We ordered the seafood platter and it was bland and disappointing. Drinks were poorly made, we gave up on trying to drink them. The price was high and the quality was not there.
Waited over an hour even with a reservation.
I love the Ivy and have been coming here for 25+ years. But they disasterously overbooked themselves for Valentine's Day dinner. When I checked in on time for my reservation at 8pm they told me the wait would probably be 45 minutes. There were so many people standing around waiting everywhere it was hard to find a place to stand just to be out of the way. The place is just not equipped to have that many people waiting for a table. They offered me a glass of free champagne and when I instead asked for a vodka--offering to pay for it myself--they said no, only champagne was available until we sat down. 45 minutes and no drink? Instead, I waited back in line to talk to the maitre 'd who did in fact arrange to get me a vodka drink (good recovery), and I did get the bill for it. Considering the long wait beyond my reservation time, I thought that was a bit tacky. I will go back, because I do like The Ivy, but they really screwed Valentine's Day up.
Fantastic ambiance and atmosphere. Love the food and drinks but the portion sizes for the protein is so small and I felt violated when I got the check. They also give you one less side than they used to yet they charge more.
The waiter we had was a sales man not a waiter and a hard sell one at that. I didn’t like him or the vibe he threw off. IF I ever go back I would definitely stay away from this guy. I wish I remembered his name He talked my wife into a double and said it was more economical than two single drinks and yet it ended up costing more. A real jerk
If you want to spend a lot of money, get ripped off, go home hungry- but in a nice atmosphere- this is the place to go
BTW- the other server were very nice
Crab cakes- good but small and a bit too much “fried” taste. Also 3 of any item is awkward to split.
Lobster pasta- very good.
NY strip- not good. The steak was cooked med rare as requested but unseasoned, flavorless, and tough. The baked potato it came with was also plain and really unimpressive.
Too crowded, loud, unfriendly. So bummed. We really look forward to this valentine lunch at the Ivy-being from out of town, very disappointing
Waiter was in a hurry, never asked how our food was prepared. Lobster was $90, overcooked (adhered to the shell). Everyone else on staff from the champagne server to the Maitre d’ were outstanding and personable
I drove in from Rancho Mission Viejo to meet a friend and dine with you. Have always loved your restaurant, however, the drive to and from gets more difficult -- UGH
The Ivy has it all, the cost of a meal reflects this but its worth the experience!
You're offered a free glass of champagne when you arrive, and I don't know why but it seems most people decline. Yes, I'll have a glass of champagne, thank you! The menu is pricey, and they impose a minimum of one entree per person, so don't go if you're looking for a deal. But if amazing food, great atmosphere, and 100% guaranteed good vibes is what you're looking for, then the price is worth it! Think of this as a mini vacation. I'm not the first one, but I highly reccomend the banana split, it's big enough to share with 4 people, has lots of fresh fruit with it, four kinds of ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream, so delicious! I had lobster ravioli, (which was very good btw) to keep it light and make room for dessert. I also recommend the cocktails. They're very expensive, but most have lots of fresh fruit in them, and it's just fun! Service is stellar. If you just go to have fun, or forget your week, you will!
The waiter was great. As was the food. I loved it. I really just had a great time. I always wanted to go, and it lived up to what I thought it would be.
Great restaurant with a beautiful ambiance, complimentary champagne is a winner and food was awesome
I forgot my waiters name but very nice and made my birthday memorable.. thank you!
House wine $25
Side avocado 8.75
Total lunch with one breakfast item and one glass wine $165
It's not in Beverly Hills.
Always a lovely lunch but a little surprised at the $8.50 ice tea.
So great. Can’t wait to go back
Had a fabulous time! Simply the best staff, food, and drinks. I’ll be returning. A+++
Annual girls’ weekend Ivy brunch. Prepare to be rushed out of there almost as soon as you are seated. The food is good, the atmosphere is beautiful; there’s chintz everywhere and you’ll be ok with it because it’s the iconic Ivy. Hard pass on the freebie cookies they give you as they hurriedly throw down your check. It’s a nice gesture and a tradition, but they’re basically cement slabs with chocolate chips in them.
We loved everything about our brunch at the Ivy...except the prices. This is not our first visit and we eat at gourmet and upscale restaurants all the time. We never mind high prices if we feel we got good value. Our $500/per person dinner at Quince in SF was worth every penny! But the Ivy is not worth $36 for French toast or $38 for eggs benedict! Service was wonderful, the food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. But even the complimentary champagne, delicious scones and our "goodbye" cookies" were not enough to warrant the exorbitant prices at this restaurant. There are many other outstanding brunch choices at expensive but still more reasonable prices than this place.
Everything was perfect as usual!
This was really an awful experience. They did not have our reservation. They found it about 30 minutes later and we had to wait another 30 minutes for a table. I put in we were celebrating my boyfriend's promotion, and they didn't do anything about it. There were two dogs barking at the table next to us. We asked to speak with the manager and there was "no one on staff". For one of the nicest restaurants in la, this was an awful experience.
Beautiful, charming & excellent service! A perfect place to have brunch with friends. The food, drinks & ambiance are the right combination to visit with friends. So wish they served an afternoon tea!
Had to wait over 30 mins for table even though we had booked. They offer free fizz in the hallway/ reception area but it’s so packed with people and waiters coming through, it’s not a pleasant experience
Service, food, everything was incredible!! They made my daughters birthday so special!! Very pleased! Even though the place is way out of my everyday budget, it was well worth it.
Everything was superb. Our waiter wasn’t that great but still our experience was amazing
It was my first time at the Ivy and I was hosting a table of 6 women on my expense. I was visiting from Dubai. The service was terrible!!! Non existent actually. The waiter allowed us to WAY over order for the table of 6 ladies. Simply for the revenue!!! We didn’t even have enough space on the table to put the plates! And he still thought we should have ordered at least another main dish ??!! ... it was an excessively expensive lunch and complete waste of food. Shame
On your waiter
Awful service. Asked three times for a glass of water. Super noisy inside. Food was garbage and not worth the price. The outdoor patio and praline dessert are the only great things about this place. If you can’t get a table outside, not worth it.
Great service. Superb food. Wonderful food. Well deserved reputation
Delish! Great ambiance, loved the champagne upon entrance. Service was impeccable!
Really nice place for an informal but high quality meal. We went there for brunch and had a great time.
Always fantastic come here every time we visit from Australia
Excellent food and service. Complementary Champagne upon arrival was an unexpected treat! Superb!
