It was SO yummy! They always impress!
Second time here. Food is absolutely fantastic and the service is great. We started out 15 minutes late for our reservation and I gave a quick call to let them know. Absolutely accommodating as we were showing up with a toddler that wasn’t too pleased with being woken up from her nap. We had Hannah as our waitress on our first visit. She remembered us and our daughter immediately an truly makes you feel like family. So much so that when our toddler wasn’t really interested in being at the table she took her to dance for a couple minutes. 100% the best experience I’ve ever had while out to eat and that’s not even counting how good the food is. Oh and Hannah wasn’t even our waitress this trip. She just goes that far beyond what is expected. Cannot recommend this place enough
This is an amazing place to go and enjoy some delicious food!!!
Fifth String is a standout restaurant among an area of full great restaurants. Their service is excellent, their food quality is fantastic and reasonably priced, and it's located in a great part of town. Their ambiance may not be as dramatic as other restaurants in the area, but the food here is what makes it standout.
Amazing food. Service was a little slow between the 1st course and entrees. Space is beautiful. We will be back.
We tried a bit of everything and absolutely loved it all....and we are super picky! Seafood, veggie dishes, chicken wagyu, desserts! Loved it all!
Outstanding service food and drinks. Nice atmosphere as well.
It was phenomenal from start to finish. We were so pleased with every aspect of this meal. Our server and team were unbelievable in their level of attention to detail! Highly recommend!
Fantastic meal. Highly recommend the tallow candle bread.
I randomly chose this restaurant to take my husband out for his birthday, and what a great surprise this meal was! Our waitress was engaging and helpful in suggesting some delicious dishes - I never would have ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms if she hadn’t recommended it, and it was the best thing I had all night! We had some of the most delicious fresh oysters and the tallow candle bread service to start (OMG it was good!), followed by the crispy potatoes rackets (YUM!!) and the hamachi (so light and fresh) for our starters. For dinner I had the gnocchi (that English pea purée is insane!) and my husband had the steak with dumplings - both were outstanding. We weren’t blown away by the desserts, but that’s ok because we were so full and satisfied from our meal! The menu is creative and appealing, the ambiance was cool, the food was amazing, and the service was 5 stars. I highly recommend this place for a truly special date night! Oh, and try the Strawberry Fields Forever cocktail!!
Best we have had in Denver in years.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience! The food was delicious and the ambiance reminded me of a French Bistro. Our server was delightful too. I felt like I was eating a meal served on the show Top Chef. So good!
Excellent and unique food offerings, most unique we’ve had in Denver. Very friendly and professional staff too. Love the decor and ambiance but does get a little noisy when we ate inside. Parking is often a challenge in this area. Highly recommend it and will go back.
What a phenomenal experience, start to finish. Incredible hosting, drinks, food, and particularly excellent service. Welcome to LoHi - we love you!
Great food, service was awesome, never wanted for anything. HANNAH is the best. We will return.
Impeccable experience. The Fifth String delivers a thoughtful approach across both food and drink that consistently produces gorgeous results. Planning to come here again and again.
Food was amazing! Staff was excellent! We will definitely be back!
Amazing new restaurant in LoHi. Everything was top notch and we loved our waitress Hannah.
The service was too-notch, it was a really fun dining experience
There is a prix fixe menu for $60 per person and you can order ala carte but there’s no way to know how much the entrees are when ordered ala carte. Overall it was good though. They have a patio with misters which was nice on a hot evening. The bar is great. The restaurant area is industrial and a bit loud.
Absolutely outstanding. Food, value and service were unbelievable! I could not recommend this place enough
Amazing food and drinks. I really enjoy the laid back environment with really creative food items.
Excellent dinner spot, fantastic food, great service. Good for people with allergies and food intolerances. Great for groups
Best restaurant. W love bold favor food and Amos did a wonderful job here
Excellent food and service. Heather is an excellent server! Both the Halibut and Waygu flank steak were above expectations. Will definitely stop again the next time we visit Denver.
Fabulous food and presentation. Our waiter was great too. Nice patio space, some traffic noise but not bad.
TL;DL This place is great and we'll be back!
This place had been recommended by a couple friends, and I was in once I saw tallow candle, which naturally they were out of haha. Also why I need to go back.
We started with oysters, always delicious. We then got the ceviche and carpaccio. The ceviche melted in the mouth! SO good. The carpaccio was delicious, but the gouda was a bit strong for the delicate dish. I do love aged gouda, but it's a strong flavor. Less is more. This started to taste like a cheeseburger. Not that that's wrong, just not desired with my carpaccio.
We got the halibut and the katsu. I like salt. A lot. These poor dishes were so oversalted, we couldn't even have second bites of the katsu. The halibut was edible only due to the potato puree.
We then got the strawberry pie and triple cream cheese. The strawberry pie will be goals when strawberries are in season. We loved the gelatin - like portion without it being too gelatin-y, if that makes sense. It was amazing. Now the triple cream cheese threw us. It is listed as a third course, and not dessert, but listed with deserts. It did involve blueberries, so imagine our surprise when it was a garlicky, savory situation. Perhaps staff could just let people know it's savory. It would also be a good app option.
Anyway, staff was friendly enough. I feel that maybe there was some drama behind the scenes. So it goes, sadly, these days post pandemic.
Anyway, I had a life changing wine and I need the tallow candle, so I'll be back for sure!
Food was delicious, Jordan was great as our server.
Wonderful food, but felt very rushed. Basically $300 fast food.
The pace was so slow!! 30 minutes before our drinks arrived and at one hour and 45 minutes still had not received our main course. Food was quite good but the service was terrible.
Food was excellent - when it finally arrived. There was a 45-minute lag between the 1st course and second. The waiter was apologetic, saying Fifth String had been open for 2nd weekend since covid limits eased. The kitchen appeared to be working hard while the chef was BSing near the entrance. It was so loud we couldn’t hear the waiter detailing choices to others at our table.
The food was trying too hard to be fancy. Way too many garnishes and the dishes lacked flavor. Our waiter forgot about us and was not at our table for the last 30 minutes of dining. Other waiters had to run our check and clear our plates. The place is also horribly overpriced for what you get.
We celebrated our daughters graduation at the fifth string. It was an unforgettable evening! The service was outstanding and the food was excellent! We could not have asked for anything to make it better. They even decorated the greenhouse, where we ate, with graduation goodies. Wow!!!
Can't say enough good things about Fifth String. We dined here on May 23rd to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. First I have to say that our server Hannah is hands down THE BEST! I have been in Denver for 2 years now and she is the first server that knocked my socks off. Her passion for food and wine and her impeccable service are 2nd to none. I had the scallops ceviche and the english pea risotto and both were fresh and delicious. I also highly recommend the Albarino if you are looking for a nice patio wine to go along with these light summery dishes. My husband had the oysters and the short ribs and loved them both. We will definitely be back again soon!
One of the Best dining experiences in Denver! food was outstanding, staff was beyond amazing! We'll be back again and again
The Fifth String was a great find in the city! Great ambience and very much a foodie spot. Drinks were made with care and crafted well! Expect a wait (definitely a long wait) for the food but know that the plating and flavor profiles are very much worth waiting for!
Delicious prix fix. Everything on the menu was great. Must try the tallow candle bread service!
Love the vibes here and food was bomb
Took my husband here for his birthday dinner. Wow!! Everything on the pre fixe menu was wonderful. We had the beef carpaccio, asparagus, mushroom gnocchi, and halibut. The strawberry pie and chocolate cake were terrific and cocktails were superb. Excellent service, so attentive and you can tell the wait staff works as a team. Love this place and cant wait to go back!!
