I have been to The Brave a number of times. Sunday lunches are an absolute must in my opinion. Every time we have been the food has been outstanding - beautifully presented canapés, innovative small plates and utterly delicious large plates, which we have chosen to share and generally to fight over. There are also fabulous cocktails and a comprehensive wine list. The service is attentive and friendly, but never overbearing. The restaurant itself is cosy and unpretentious but it always feels special to be there. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you haven't been go. If you have been go back.

A disappointment compared to the heights of the 12:51 roast (best ever). Here there is more food, but it is more expensive, and the beef was served medium-well rather than rare (why???). There is more shin (yum), and more vegetables (dressed carrots and cabbage/leek) which we appreciated. Potatoes and cauliflower cheese remain perfect.

I had steak and I thought it lacked flavour. The food could have been warmer too.

Food was pretty reasonable, but maybe didn’t live up to the hype. Some things to improve: the team wanted to clean our table before we’d finished our starters because the mains were ready. We were in full view of the kitchen and it wasn’t busy, it could have been more attentive to time our mains until after we’d digested our starter. Lots of other small things could have improved the attentiveness, especially given it wasn’t busy. Thank you to the team nonetheless
