Everything was great! Unfortunately, the kitchen went out our entree with the appetizers and it was cold (steak) when we got to it. Still
Good, but we were a bit disappointed. It was a later reservation and we guess the kitchen was trying to wrap up the evening
Great time, good food, good service.
My friends and I had a lovely experience dining in the moody lighting of this upscale Mexican restaurant! Food was incredible, drinks were good, price point was excellent, and the staff was friendly. I’d advise making a Tamayo reservation to anyone visiting Denver.
Food was delicious and service was great! We will def come back soon!
Very disappointed in the steak fajitas. Tough meat and not very flavorful. Chicken enchiladas were good however. My experiences here have been better in the past.
Food was great. Best part was our server - Lia. She was awesome.
Great tequila menu.
great service, but food was just ok. Pork carnitas was dry, so was the chicken fajitas. Fish tacos were ok. Tortilla soup was outstanding. Nice dinner, but expensive for the quality.
Tamayo was wonderful! My partner and I visited for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. We got the crab guacamole to start and it was really interesting (in a good way!). For our main courses, I got the chicken fajitas and my partner got the chicken tinga enchiladas. Both were delicious. The staff surprised us with churros for dessert given that it was our anniversary, and they were a perfect end to our meal. Highly recommend!
As a Mexican person this was a bad experience. Food was not good. Quite disappointing after reading all the reviews. This is made for people who don't know the flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine.
Delicious mix of dishes and great brunch cocktails - margarita is delicious and if you like spice, the bloody Maria is the place to be.
Food was good and portioned well. The atmosphere of the old building and the seating was comfortable.
A little over priced but will return for the delicious guacamole!
Just out for a friend for a casual dinner.
Our waitress was really fantastic. She had great suggestions and when my drink was too sweet, she replaced it and we never saw it on the bill.
Amazing food, bottomless brunch is a great deal!
Food was great. Top quality complared to the chain restaurant's in the area. Would go again multiple times.
We were expecting exceptional food, it was okay, nothing exceptional. The guacamole was lacking flavor, the ceviche was okay, the churros were not thoroughly cooked inside. The lamb tacos and the steak fajitas were good, their drinks and salsa are outstanding.
Excellent Mexican food. Everything from the appetizers (guacamole) to the main course was excellent!
Good variety of plates; Margarita's were great. Serve was excellent.
My plate was unfortunately served cold. I asked for part of it to be heated back up (did not want to send my steak back because it was cold, but cooked very nicely and I didn’t want it over cooked). The part of the entrée took 25 minutes to come back to the table and it was still only warm! Our waitress was sweet and apologetic but manager never came to the table and they did not comp or discount our check. They offered free dessert but we were uninterested. Will not go running back
Went for a birthday and it was great! The drinks are better than the food IMHO but maybe it was what I ordered. I’ll be trying the fajitas next time!
Started out well with drinks and went downhill fast when the (very expensive) food arrived. Caritas were not twice cooked and were so dry and tasteless. The chile relleno was crunchy, not cooked adequately hard pieces hurt my teeth & I sent the rice back. The shrimp was tasty & delicious, but not filling. The waitress took the rice off the bill & gave us free drink cards due to the overall experience (that we couldn't use since we were flying home early the next morning). Overall very disappointed, overpriced and left hungry.
The chili rellano was disappointing. Bring back the shrimp, calamari and scallop filling.
My colleagues and I ventured here during a business trip in the area and decided to try out Tamayo for dinner. We were able to get outside seating - bonus! We started with the queso and chips - cheesy and delicious. We decided to try all the tacos and share among the table - the carne asade was the group favorite, followed closely by the mahi mahi. The food was fresh and flavorful. We all tried margaritas as well, as we should have and the marigold was light and delicious! A must visit!
Our service was great but we ordered the lamb and steak tacos. The steak was over cooked and tough. The lamb could use some help but it wasn’t as bad as the steak. The Margarita, chips, salsa and guacamole were perfect.
Food was well received. Leah and staff were excellent. Extremely noisy. Could barely hear others at table of 5. Pricey because of location.
Wonderful service, great food and amazing drinks! A must go every time I visit Denver. You can’t go wrong here!
Consistently good! Service, location and food are very good.
Having enjoyed this restaurant 6-8 times over the years, it was an obvious choice to celebrate my 76th birthday. Once again the food was spectacular, tasty and remarkable. With the street being closed out front, there was live music for the whole block and we enjoyed sitting outside since the upstairs patio was not yet open because of COVID. Our server was great and the hostess was especially warm, and welcoming. A perfect evening.
We ate the Saturday brunch & it was so, so good! Emma was our server & she was outstanding. She provided great recommendations & was very attentive. We ate outside & it was so nice. The brunch offered a variety of options & everything was good. It is not cheap but well worth the price for an all you can eat brunch. We will definitely return here the next time we are in town.
The food was pretty rough overall, with the exception of the bacon and potatoes. Some of the food I couldn’t even eat because it was so bland or the flavors were just wrong. This is my 2nd time trying Tamayo because I wanted to give them another change, but it was not good. The waitresses were great though!!
Good food. Great service. We ordered the veggie enchiladas, yummy. The Sopes starter was unique and tasty. But it should be possible to serve 4 so either a couple gets two each or the foursome group can share easily. Our companions found the Carnitas somewhat dry. Would visit again.
Not a good experience. Service was catastrophic. Food very average. I've never said this before.. but the food was horribly overpriced.
Food had gluten and I have celiac!
Bottomless brunch is way overpriced. We immediately asked for eggs and she brought us plantains and potatoes to fill us up. Meanwhile we asked for eggs again and she wanted to bring tacos. The bottomless brunch is way overpriced. All items on the menu are mostly tortilla chips. Not impressive at all. The drinks at bottomless brunch are good but not worth 42 bucks with how much food you get that is actually edible. Will not be returning for bottomless brunch.
Tamayo's 20th Anniversary menu is full of classic southwestern tastes. Go.
I hadn’t been to Tamayo in 20 years! My meal was so good I cleaned my plate. I don’t go downtown a lot anymore, but I hope to get back to Tamayo! Our waitress was great, as well.
Birthday Dinner was good. The beef dishes are the best. Pork was mediocre. Margaritas were very good.
Service and staff were pleasant and attentive. Good incredible
Amazing Mexican food!
