The view on the roof top was great. Was looking forward to more choices on the bottomless brunch. Also, being able to offer a bottomless drink package by itself would of been great considering I would of purchased another meal besides brunch. I was also especting a medium tier tequila which the bottomless drinks. Overall it was a decent meal with a great view.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We are always looking to improve our experience and appreciate the feedback on our brunch menu. At this time we are at a reduced seating capacity due to COVID-19 and in turn have to reduce our menu offerings to support this new model. We look forward to restrictions being lifted and the opportunity to serve our full menu once again in the near future. Thanks again for supporting Tamayo during this challenging time for the restaurant industry. We hope to welcome you back again.
The food was not very good. There were no bold flavors, none of the food, flavor-wise, seemed to match the description on the menu. We actually ended up only getting one entree after ordering the guacamole because it simply didn’t impress us.
I had not been there in a few years. I will be going more often. Best tortilla soup EVER!!!!!!
Lovely outdoor dining with musicians on the street. Food is fresh and delicious. We had chicken enchiladas and mahi mahi tacos. Great stuff!
We were in town for just 36 hours and went there twice! Brunch was great, as was lunch. CJ, our server, was attentive, nice, fun and personable. Such a great time. Will definitely return when back in Denver!
Let me start by saying, Tamayo’s is my favorite restaurant in Denver. We routinely visit Richard Sandoval restaurants because of his amazing restaurants. We will continue to do so.
We made reservations weeks ahead for my Birthday. When we arrived, they took us upstairs and on the roof for our seating. It was so cold. Even though it was covered, everyone had jackets on while they were eating. We told them we were not interested in sitting on the roof as it was way too cold. They said that was all they had. I asked how it is possible that we made reservations that far ahead and we got stuck on the roof? If that is the case, you should be made aware when you accept the reservations.
We informed them we would prefer to dine somewhere else rather than eat in the cold on the roof. They accommodated us but we were told very clearly that they were making an exception from their Covid precautions. They proceeded to sit us at a table that was at least 10 feet from any other nearby table. Very interesting...
Waiter was great, food was good. Only bad thing which I think was a random flook was a mouse was running around and had to be caught by a staff member. (We sat outside on the patio)
Wonderful service and great food. A value for an exquisite meal.
An out of town friend visited and wanted something he couldn’t easily get in Kansas. He loved it.
Tamayo has impressed me every time I’ve visited.
Food was really great, looked great and tasted great and the Margarita was excellent.
Delicious, interesting Latin food. The bacon guacamole is heavenly, with fresh cilantro, onions and cotilla cheese. Almost a meal in itself! Be sure to try some of their fresh fruit purees to mix with a cocktail. I adore mangoes, but most drinks use an icky syrup that tastes nothing like the real thing. I had a mango margarita and it was extremely good. The menu is small, and I can imagine that during non-COVID times, the place would be a bit on the loud side if filled to capacity. Those are my only critiques...give this place a try for sure!
The hostess was ambivalent when we arrived and didn’t even ask my name for our reservation. The food was lukewarm when it arrived, and
Great service and good food but somewhat overpriced.
Menu selection was limited because of Covid. For lunch, I selected the chicken enchiladas which were stuffed with shredded chicken with no flavor at all. The texture was not tendered and tasted like boiled chicken. Just thanks to the green sauce, I could get some flavor.
Definitely, I was disappointed with my meal selection.
Really tasty food and fun atmosphere. Service was great. Great place for a date night or hang out with friends! The taco boards are to die for.
We went for my bday and they had live jazz outside in the square. Great food never disappoints. The service is always great as well. They even made us alcohol free margaritas and they were amazing!
Food was good
Service could have been a bit friendlier
There drinks where delicious although there food was not high quality. The chips and guacamole was better then the actual main dishes.
The Bottomless Brunch was great. Especially the bacon!
Christian was outstanding! Margaritas were tasty. Food was delicious.
Far too expensive for the amount of food you get. Very small menu selection to choose from.
Eddie, our waiter and his helpers were super attentive and friendly. The sunset views were gorgeous. Another memorable evening at Tamayo!
Enjoyed my time there
Great service as well as food! It was a wonderful place to have a quiet business lunch.
Great salsa - smoky, tomatillo flavor! Tamayo was recommended to us by a long-time Denver resident. We'll also be recommending this restaurant. Carne asada tacos, shrimp enchiladas were both delicious. The margarita was pleasant. The wine pour seemed light, but it wasn't questioned. Prices are a bit high, but so is rent downtown I suppose. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Great place to get some drinks. The enchiladas and tacos were amazing on the brunch menu! The desert was a bit off from the authenticity of the other items on the menu, and the number of times the server told us no when we asked to purchase things outside of the brunch menu was disappointing.
Food was awesome, service was great! Highly recommend!
Great food and atmosphere.
Great little spot and patio on Larimer. Food was overpriced and just decent. their margaritas were pretty sweet as well and weak. Overall just ok.
WOW--we had a fantastic dinner and evening on Larimer St. at Tamayo's restaurant! Food and drinks were fabulous for everyone in our party and the lights and fall feeling were magical on Larimer Street. PLEASE go go go before it gets cold and we are all locked in for awhile.
Was waiting 30 min for snacks, then when snacks came, the main course were brought after 3 min. One of our plate was brought to other table, and we believe we got the same plate which was on the other table. Also server want us to give someone else snack, he said: do you want these beans? other people didn't want.
We put our card to pay and were waiting for server to take it for 15 min, while he was talking with his friends.
First and the last time we went there.
Service was great. Dessert on the house for a birthday. We both enjoyed the food.
Birthday for my bestest grade school friend. One of my first dinners out since Co-Vid. Menu was limited. Guacamole and margs were delish. My friend loved her tacos. My shrimp enchiladas were good but sparse in shrimp. Understandable in these trying times. I originally requested a table outside, but it was kinda cool, so we ended up being seated at a small table way far back in the restaurant. Overall: really authentic- tasting Mexican food.
The supposed filet in the Tampiquena was the toughest meat I have ever had in a restaurant.
The service was minimally satisfactory with the waiter unavailable for significant stretches of time.
The music and ambient noise interfered with our ability to have a conversation.
Excellent location and 2nd floor covered patio to enjoy the views. Ordered @ 4:40 pm from the Happy Hour menu and kept ordering tapas food & drinks to 6:35 pm. All food & beverage charged at full price. Waitress unable to revise charges. No worries, but I'll be more careful to payout after Happy Hour next time. Beware.
Solid modern Mexican in Denver. Enjoyed our meal al fresco!
Great location and ambiance. Pretty pricey for Mexican food. Service was great.
Birthday dinner! CJ was GREAT and super funny! Loved the food!
Tamayo was delicious, ambient, and reasonably priced. Great spot for a date night
