New Year's Eve Special Menus & Offers
3-Course Dinner with Champagne Toast for $65/guest on our heated & covered rooftop terrace.
Just out for a friend for a casual dinner.
Our waitress was really fantastic. She had great suggestions and when my drink was too sweet, she replaced it and we never saw it on the bill.
Amazing food, bottomless brunch is a great deal!
Food was great. Top quality complared to the chain restaurant's in the area. Would go again multiple times.
We were expecting exceptional food, it was okay, nothing exceptional. The guacamole was lacking flavor, the ceviche was okay, the churros were not thoroughly cooked inside. The lamb tacos and the steak fajitas were good, their drinks and salsa are outstanding.
Excellent Mexican food. Everything from the appetizers (guacamole) to the main course was excellent!
Good variety of plates; Margarita's were great. Serve was excellent.
My plate was unfortunately served cold. I asked for part of it to be heated back up (did not want to send my steak back because it was cold, but cooked very nicely and I didn’t want it over cooked). The part of the entrée took 25 minutes to come back to the table and it was still only warm! Our waitress was sweet and apologetic but manager never came to the table and they did not comp or discount our check. They offered free dessert but we were uninterested. Will not go running back
Went for a birthday and it was great! The drinks are better than the food IMHO but maybe it was what I ordered. I’ll be trying the fajitas next time!
Started out well with drinks and went downhill fast when the (very expensive) food arrived. Caritas were not twice cooked and were so dry and tasteless. The chile relleno was crunchy, not cooked adequately hard pieces hurt my teeth & I sent the rice back. The shrimp was tasty & delicious, but not filling. The waitress took the rice off the bill & gave us free drink cards due to the overall experience (that we couldn't use since we were flying home early the next morning). Overall very disappointed, overpriced and left hungry.
The chili rellano was disappointing. Bring back the shrimp, calamari and scallop filling.
My colleagues and I ventured here during a business trip in the area and decided to try out Tamayo for dinner. We were able to get outside seating - bonus! We started with the queso and chips - cheesy and delicious. We decided to try all the tacos and share among the table - the carne asade was the group favorite, followed closely by the mahi mahi. The food was fresh and flavorful. We all tried margaritas as well, as we should have and the marigold was light and delicious! A must visit!
Our service was great but we ordered the lamb and steak tacos. The steak was over cooked and tough. The lamb could use some help but it wasn’t as bad as the steak. The Margarita, chips, salsa and guacamole were perfect.
Food was well received. Leah and staff were excellent. Extremely noisy. Could barely hear others at table of 5. Pricey because of location.
Consistently good! Service, location and food are very good.
Having enjoyed this restaurant 6-8 times over the years, it was an obvious choice to celebrate my 76th birthday. Once again the food was spectacular, tasty and remarkable. With the street being closed out front, there was live music for the whole block and we enjoyed sitting outside since the upstairs patio was not yet open because of COVID. Our server was great and the hostess was especially warm, and welcoming. A perfect evening.
We ate the Saturday brunch & it was so, so good! Emma was our server & she was outstanding. She provided great recommendations & was very attentive. We ate outside & it was so nice. The brunch offered a variety of options & everything was good. It is not cheap but well worth the price for an all you can eat brunch. We will definitely return here the next time we are in town.
The food was pretty rough overall, with the exception of the bacon and potatoes. Some of the food I couldn’t even eat because it was so bland or the flavors were just wrong. This is my 2nd time trying Tamayo because I wanted to give them another change, but it was not good. The waitresses were great though!!
Good food. Great service. We ordered the veggie enchiladas, yummy. The Sopes starter was unique and tasty. But it should be possible to serve 4 so either a couple gets two each or the foursome group can share easily. Our companions found the Carnitas somewhat dry. Would visit again.
Not a good experience. Service was catastrophic. Food very average. I've never said this before.. but the food was horribly overpriced.
Food had gluten and I have celiac!
Bottomless brunch is way overpriced. We immediately asked for eggs and she brought us plantains and potatoes to fill us up. Meanwhile we asked for eggs again and she wanted to bring tacos. The bottomless brunch is way overpriced. All items on the menu are mostly tortilla chips. Not impressive at all. The drinks at bottomless brunch are good but not worth 42 bucks with how much food you get that is actually edible. Will not be returning for bottomless brunch.
Tamayo's 20th Anniversary menu is full of classic southwestern tastes. Go.
I hadn’t been to Tamayo in 20 years! My meal was so good I cleaned my plate. I don’t go downtown a lot anymore, but I hope to get back to Tamayo! Our waitress was great, as well.
Birthday Dinner was good. The beef dishes are the best. Pork was mediocre. Margaritas were very good.
Service and staff were pleasant and attentive. Good incredible
Amazing Mexican food!
I wrote a long review and when adding photos the review disappeared. Tomayo’s was very good. I will leave it at that.
Brought out of town guests who don’t travel much. They felt it was too pricey, but they don’t get out much 🤷🏻♀️
FABULOUS food! Shrimp fajitas were out of this world! Guacamole was so good and I asked for veggie sticks in place of chips and they were so accommodating. Highly recommend this restaurant
BEST MARGARITA EVER!!!
Was really excited to try this spot because of the reviews + prime location in Larimer Square. It was later on a Thursday evening. Food took over an hour that by the time it came we had kinda lost our appetite. The waiter did not check in with updates. Also had called the restaurant to get a spot on the rooftop and did not find out until showing up that evening that the roof is closed for the season. Why didn't they tell me that on the phone?
I have eaten there in the past actually quite frequently. It had been awhile and I saw the menu for the anniversary and thought a couple items looked fantastic. I had the stuffed chili relleno and was disappointed. Not only was it a little cold, it just didn't have a lot of flavor or depth. My friend had a special as well and also felt the meal was just okay as far as flavors and taste.
Not sure I will visit anytime soon again
The flavours in the food were great! Loved the atmosphere sitting outdoors on Larimer. The service was terrible — our server came around VERY infrequently and we had to ask multiple times to get something we wanted like more water or a coffee refill.
Such a great location, but just miss the mark.
We've been here 4 times, since the location is ideal for us, but there are some real issues here.
1. It's always hot in the restaurant - when I walked by the thermostats on the way to the restrooms, one showed 80 and the other showed 81 degrees. It was 70 degrees outside, but our seat was inside and not sure why it's always so warm.
2. The menu is limited - their anniversary menu was very good, but the rest is basic - tacos, fajitas, etc.
I'm sure we'll go back for appetizers and drinks on the roof or out on the street, but will make a point to avoid indoor dining.
The margaritas were some of the best I have had. Service was awesome and the food was absolutely delicious! I will be back and I strongly recommend this restaurant!
We were sat in a corner that had no ventilation by a window in the back of the restaurant, then ignored for 15 minutes. I say ignored because our server looked at us on two different occasions then finally came over and greeted us with a “oh sorry I didn’t see you here”. Only had one margarita and certainly would have had another but we had to go looking for our server to get the bill(?). The bus boy was the best I’ve had in a while. He kept our water full and cleared our plates. Great food. The worst service. It was our 20th wedding anniversary. Don’t go here for a special occasion! Or any occasion for that matter.
We ate inside and the ambiance was good. This used to be a more impressive restaurant with great and exotic Caribbean or Cent American-style fare. The menu didn't seem that way anymore. I had salmon, which I thought was excellent. My wife had pork belly tacos, which were light on the meat and heavy on the onions. The waiter, though nice and engaging, seemed to be easily confused by the order that we had to repeat and correct several times. I would give this restaurant a 3.5 overall (used to be a 4 or 4.5).
The AC was not on. There were no other cooling devices either.
Our server was awesome and they honored my hubby for his birthday
Great as always.
