This used to be one of the best sushi restaurants in town. How far they have fallen. The fish was unacceptably bad for a place this good and the service was nonexistent. Maybe it was a bad night, but we deserve better.
Great meal, as always here. Great service and fresh fish!
The food is fantastic and I’m never disappointed! Love a stop here when I’m in town. Wish the bathrooms were maintained more regularly.
Love taking our kids to eat at the sushi bar. We are obsessed with the sushi here, it’s our favorite occasion place for sure. Now we have the kiddos hooked with the best friend rice on earth! 😍
Wonderful place. Every time we are in Denver we come to this place. They are very accommodating with smoke kids as well.
It was wonderful. Great sushi and service!
The sushi rolls had such rich flavors that melded beautifully together. I recommend the Strawberry Shortcake roll. A mouthful of joy!!
This place has really good reviews but wasn’t worth the hype for me. I let the restaurant know it was my dad’s birthday when I made the reservation, and there was no acknowledgement at all. The bussers/food runners were more polite and helpful than our waitress. Our waitress was a bit aloof and forgot to take 3/4ths of the table’s orders for long enough that the only person at our table to order was getting food before the others gave their orders. I’ve had better and fresher sushi elsewhere. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t worth the price in my opinion. Just a flat experience.
Sushi Sasa has been a personal favorite for years but I have to say that the recent experience left a lot to be desired. First, we were sat 20-25mins late. The food was just ok. The diablo roll, which we had really liked before was mediocre but the NYC roll was really good. The service was sub-par. Fine at first but then she disappeared for 20 mins and we were just waiting there to ask for the check. I overheard the staff say it was due to staff shortages which is understandable, but then manage your tables appropriately.
Consistently fantastic Sushi that shines above the rest!
As always, the food was phenomenal. The service was underwhelming at best. Took forever to get drinks, and felt ignored between each dish/drink refill. No energy from our server whatsoever. Not sure why service was so slow, as it was a Sunday night and the restaurant was not that busy.
The sushi is absolutely amazing! Favorite sushi restaurant in Denver.
Amazing! We ordered the Omakase ahead of time and the food and service was second to none! We enjoyed everything about the evening! I can’t say enough good things about it. Our server was careful to explain every item, suggest a saki flight to pair with the meal, and when she realized we’d stated a crustacean allergy she was careful to make sure oysters weren’t included in that. So good. If you want a special night out I highly recommend their omakase, and order ahead so the chef has the time to plan you an amazing meal!
Our go to for special occasion sushi. From service to food, everything is perfect. Love this place!
Love Sushi Sasa!!! Always a great experience!!!
Went with another couple to celebrate husbands birthdays.
Service was not great. Took forever to have server come over, she had zero energy… not because she seemed exhausted, just didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. She also was very slow. Drinks took 15 min. Good game a lil faster but because they had runners. But dirty dishes sat at our table when we were clearly finished, getting water was inconsistent. Just kind oh a meh place for one we’ve heard great things about. It definitely did not live up to the reputation.
Service industry is hard right now. I feel for them. But still have to show you care.
AMAZING FOOD…. Since Day 1
A delightful and intimate space with authentic Japanese selections. Creative combinations of flavors and textures. Great presentation and very attentive service. Extensive Saki selection and artfully prepared fresh sushi.
Service was awful
Love this place and has the best sushi, however service is really slow. I would definitely try it if you have some time on your hands.
The atmosphere is great- calm, chic, and relaxing. However, the service was incredibly slow which made it hard to enjoy. The sushi is extremely overpriced for rolls with very little substance.
Wife’s birthday week started off right, thanks Sasa!!
We received a text that our table was ready at 6:20. When we arrived we were told our table would be ready in a few minutes. They finally sat us at 6:50 we we told the hostess we were leaving . They sat another 3 top in front of us who arrived after us. They told us they sat them before us because we were
only two and it was a 4 top even though they sat another couple at 4 top minutes before them. The experience left a bad taste in mouth.
What a great Sushi spot! We went here for our anniversary and had a wonderful meal. The service was great, prompt, and really helpful in their recommendations for fresh nigiri and sashimi. The desert was great and cocktails were better! We were running a bit late for a show on the way out the door, and the server was incredibly fast for bringing our check and ensuring we had a great meal. We had a great anniversary dinner and will surely be back at some point! Thank you Sushi Sasa!!
Such amazing sushi & sashimi! Excellent service. Excellent cuts of fish. I can’t say enough good things about Sushi Sasa!
The food was bland. Service was mediocre. All around nothing special
Food is great. The service was lacking. Not sure what was going on the other night,as we've had good service previously there. This time, though, we had to keep asking for our items we ordered, as well as our CC after paying
Diverse menu for everyone--even if nigiri/sashimi isn't your thing. The service was impeccable and very friendly, the nigiri was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the rolls were gorgeous to look at and even better to eat. I highly recommend the fried cheesecake for dessert.
Food was really good. Service from our waitress was not. It didn't appear to be very busy yet she was very slow. We needed more sauce for our appetizer, she got it to us once were we done. It took a really long time to get drink refills and we had to flag her down a couple times to get her attention.
Fun date. Great service. Good sushi. Enjoyed service excellence.
The best sushi in Denver. Their omakase is the way to go.
We were visiting Denver from San Francisco, and my husband and I were skeptical of Denver's sushi offerings. We wanted somewhere that offered an Omakase, and after eating at Sushi Sasa, I will never doubt Denver again. This was, hands down, one of the best meals I've ever had. The fish was all fresh, delicate and creatively flavored. There was a salmon dish that nearly made me toss down my chopsticks in disbelief. We also did the sake pairing and it complimented the dishes so well. And the dessert!! A wasabi tiramisu that may have changed my life. Our server was so kind, and though she was very busy, stopped to chat with us about the food and even gave us some recommendations for other places to visit before we left town. The next time we're in Denver I will absolutely be eating at Sushi Sasa again.
Our server, Heather i believe was her name, was exceptional. She was slammed and did everything to make sure everyone in her large section was well taken care of. The food was awesome as always is to be expected from this spot.
The food and service were fantastic!
Absolutely incredible. Sushi was fresh and very flavorful. Service was impeccable. Best place in town for sushi. We moved out of state 4 years ago. Came back to visit and couldn't wait to go back to Sushi Sasa for dinner.
Always delicious and outperforms our already-high expectations.
Foods were good but a bit expensive as lunch. The receptionist was not fast enough to bring us to the table even I had a reservation. We had to wait at the entrance fora while.
Absolutely wonderful on all fronts. Really one of the best dining experiences in Denver. I always look forward to visiting Sushi Sasa.
