Really subpar food, strange location, way overpriced, too much noise, took too long to get waited on.
Tonight was Solera’s last night. We will miss this neighborhood gem. The food, ambience, experience has been wonderful. And that bartender...love him!!!! Good luck, Goose!
One of my most favorite places to get a cocktail and a bite in Denver. So sad that it is closing as of 3/31/18. I will miss you dearly Solera. Colfax won't be the same without you.
We are so bummed this was the last mussels night as Goose is closing Solera . It has been a favorite for years! Cheers Goose and happy fishing
We wish we had found this restaurant much earlier. Sad to see it is closing tomorrow.
This long established restaurant is closing in a few days. It will be sorely missed.
I had the all you could eat mussels on Tuesday night for $25. They bring out a new plate after you finish each plate. My first plate was brothy and tasty. I wish I had some bread to sop up the goodness. The second plate could have been from a completely different restaurant. The mussels had a stronger fishy odor, were dried, and had no broth. There was more grit and some of the mussels seemed a little suspect (squishy and funny texture). I thought about ordering a 3rd plate to see about the consistency of the mussels but was worried I'd get another plate of the second kind. No kids menu in case anyone was wondering.
Wonderful wait staff! Lovely meal.
We came to dine one last time and say goodbye to one of our favorite restaurants in Denver.
We’ll miss you!
So sad Solera is closing! It has been one of our favorites for years. Go there while you still can!
They’re closing! We had to one last time.
This is my favorite Denver restaurant! I’m so sad it’s closing. Wayne is a great waiter
After 16 years, this restaurant will be closing at the end of March 2018. When it does, a little piece of my heart will go with it. I adore this restaurant and dine here 5-7 times per year, so now I'm embarking on my farewell tour and getting in as many times as I can afford before this true gem and its wonderful chef end a terrific run and embark on some much-needed time off.
Quite simply the quintessential fine-dining restaurant experience in Denver. For the past 16 years, Solera has consistently delivered some of the best food in the city, in a cozy, casual, and fun environment. We’ve eaten at almost every top of the line restaurant in the city, and always find ourselves back at Solera for more. The food is creative, perfectly executed, abundant, and delicious. And the service is impeccable. We are so sad that Goose has sold Solera and will close at the end of March. But we will be back many times over before then. Everyone should. Proprietor owned restaurants of this caliber are a dying breed in Denver.
Delicious and delightful! We had a wonderful date night and will be sad to see this neighborhood gem go. Hope the new place can live up to high expectation!
Disappointing. The charcuterie plate was great. Calamari underwhelming. Caesar Salad was awful. Not dressed at all. For a Valentines Date Night we had scores of other places to choose from. Will not be back, will try somewhere else. However, would recommend others give it a try.
I came to solera with a friend on a Sunday night. We had the Sunday night dinner special where you get a cheese plate, paella, a bottle of wine and dessert for $60. It was such a good deal, but the paella was extremely bland and the rice was over cooked. Everything else was fine, and the service was great, but that paella was very disappointing.
Excellent food, wine, and service. We ordered three different wines by the glass, starters, and we shared paella and two vegetable tapas.
THE best calimari EVER! Fun, friendly servers...quiet, cozy atmosphere...makes you want to linger. The entree’s are so absolutely beautiful and delicious you just want to savor every bite! Like a party in your mouth! The wine was delightful! Solera is not just a restaurant it’s a culinary experience! :DK
Solera was one of my favorite place to eat in Denver. In the late Summer of 2017, my friends and I had two terrible meals at Solera and I expressed my disappointment in a review on Open Table. Fast forward to Jan 2018. My wife and I decided to try Solera again and we are glad we did. The arrival of a new Chef and wait staff has brought Solera back to it's past glory. The new menu is creative, well presented, and very tasty. A shout out to our server Ivan. Ivan made great suggestions and anticipated our needs. Solera is back on my list of great Denver restaurants
Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in. The food was amazing as was the wine. Our server, Ivan, was not only friendly and professional, he helped us with all our food and drink choices and they were impeccable. Thanks, Solera, for a great date night and for a wonderful, warm and romantic table 🥂
A neighborhood gem. Cozy and quiet dining room perfect for date night or couples dinner. Limited menu but everything we tried was superb. Tapas especially. Server sensed when to bring plates and not rush us through our meal. Overall an excellent dining experience and highly recommended. Prices were a good value.
Our favorite restaurant
I was disappointed Solera's menu did not reflect their menu online. I chose Solera because their online menu said they had octopus but it wasn't on the Tapas menu, nor were the Berkshire short ribs. I ended up having two appetizers for my main meal; the meatballs which were tasty and a Pappardelle pasta with pork belly. When received I saw no pork belly. The waiter said the pork belly was more of a broth? I was not pleased. My husband however liked his Paella and his brother enjoyed the fish of the day which was Trout. I found the menu limited. There were only a few fish entrees, an Atlantic salmon, the Paella and the Trout special that night. I think I had my heart set on having the Octopus . My husband and I also shared the Spicy Cucumber cocktail and found it to be lackluster with lots of ice. Desserts were just OK. Solera's online menu is worthy. Now they need to have available what they claim to have on the menu! They do have a nice Farmer's Board of cheeses and salami's/hams. One could nicely make a dinner from their Farmer's Board along with a couple Tapas and have a satisfactory meal.
Another successful dining experience. We met some business colleagues turned friends for a wonderful shared small plate evening. We started with martinis and mules and then transitioned to a Spanish Malbec. The calamari was on-point per usual. The fondue was excellent though a little light on sun choke chips. The gambas were not as flavorful as I would have liked, but other really enjoyed the dish. The highlight was the rib with couscous. It was outstanding and fall apart tender. We will return!
We enjoy Solera on a few occasions during the year. We were there on a Tuesday so I took advantage of all you can eat mussels. They prepare them in 3 different sauces and I tried two of them. The curry one was spicy and very good.
My hubby likes their calamari for a main meal. I ordered fries with mine and the waiter said it was $3 extra but when we got the bill it was showing $6. He did correct it. This is a comfortable place and we will be back.
Excellent food and service. Will go again to try their cheese boards and more small plates.
The food was not as good as my last visit. Still a good place to eat to get away from the craziness of downtown.
The food and wine was fantastic . Great atmosphere for dinner. Very professional staff. I will be back.
Solera has thoughtful, well-executed menu with excellent service.
Went on a Friday night and had a great meal, with great service. We ordered the Thai calamari ( the best I have ever had!!) and the Paella- which was fantastic.
Great food and fantastic service. Server selected my wine based on my likes and was spot on.
The paella was superb, and so was the duck. The ambiance outside was elegant, but casual. Overall a great dining experience.
Usually love this restraurant, but this time was extremely disappointing. Portion sizes were much smaller. Duck was under cooked. Scallops were salty. Paella was bland. 1 of our 5 entrees was actually good. Dinner took forever and service was ok at best. Very disappointed as this has been one of our staples for years. Won't go back anytime soon!!!
An East Colfax gem. We had a great dinner of happy hour/low price appetizers and small plates which my wife and I shared. Each was better than the previous. The gelato selection at the end of the meal was terrific. We'll definitely go again.
We love this restaurant! Fabulous food! If you don't get there- you are really missing out on a great meal!
Excellent food and staff!! Loved it! Went for a birthday and had an amazing dining experience.
Always a lovely evening when we go to Solera! The patio can't be beat and the sangria is delicious! Lots of yummy tapas as well!
Always a pleasure Their outdoor patio is so elegant and comfortable. Really adds to the evening
