Solera Restaurant & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Usually love this restraurant, but this time was extremely disappointing. Portion sizes were much smaller. Duck was under cooked. Scallops were salty. Paella was bland. 1 of our 5 entrees was actually good. Dinner took forever and service was ok at best. Very disappointed as this has been one of our staples for years. Won't go back anytime soon!!!
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. The food was exceptional, especially one of the special fish dishes. The service was excellent, and the patio is so pleasant. We look forward to going back.
One note: this restaurant seems to attract people who like to dine on the early side. Our reservation was for 8, which is normal for us, but we ended up really closing the place down and feeling a little bad we stayed so long. No one made us feel bad - everyone was very nice - but next time we'll book a little earlier.
This is one of our favorite spots - especially on warm summer nights. The patio is incredible and the food is amazing. Have never had a bad experience at Solera. And I remember many good Sunday evenings with a nice glass of rose enjoying the fabulous outdoor dining!
We were seated on the patio, which is lovely and much quieter than expected for the location. Rain moved in, and we were quickly and politely shown to a new table inside with zero fuss. The food was superb, and our waiter was very helpful with unfamiliar menu items (particularly cheeses). I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice dinner out.
My wife and have been eating at Solera for several years. We've been impressed with the service, food and wine. Our last two visits were subpar. Food remains great. The service is terrible. It appears the entire wait staff turned over. We could always count on Joe to guide us to great wine pairings. Tonight when my guest asked Alan about a specific wine to pair with her meal, he said any white would due. When asked about specific wines, he could not describe them. We sat down at 7:05. At 7:20 we were asked about drinks. They arrived 30 minutes later. At 8:00, Alan came by to take our order. The rest of the meal continued with the same terrible service. Me. We had a fabulous time at Solera. The Sunday paella special was extremely delicious and affordable. (Includes a bottle of wine, cheese/meat plate, paella entree, AND dessert all for $60/2 people!) The chocolate bread pudding was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Not to mention, the service was fantastic and we had the whole gorgeous patio to ourselves. Will definitely return.
Our first visit and we will definitely be back. We had the Sunday special dinner "paella for two" and were very pleased and found it to be a good value. The menu offers a lot of other enticing items as well, and we're looking forward to returning.
Wayne, our server, was simply outstanding: attentive and a real gentleman. The indoor dining room is comfortable, the ambient music allowing for quiet conversation. The outdoor patio looks ideal for when the weather is fair.
Solera is not inexpensive, but the menu is ambitious and the kitchen impressed us on this first visit.
Solera's food was over priced and really poor quality. My husband and I ordered the 9 oz steak entrée that came with truffle fries and chimmichuri. We ordered the steak rare. When we received the steak, it was not cooked correctly (at least medium rare, probably even more cooked than that). The truffle fries were simply shoe string fries. There was not garlic or parmesan flavor as they were described on the menu. The quality of the steak was quite poor. There was no flavor what so ever. We paid $30 for this entrée and were very upset with the food that we received. We could have made a better meal, ourselves, buying all ingredients from a local grocery store.
There service we received was fantastic though. Our waiter was very kind and very doting. We made sure that he knew how appreciative of his help and time we were.
