Smuggler's Inn abrió sus puertas en 1967 y ha servido filete de costilla de Alberta a varias generaciones.         Food was delectable and they were super accommodating to us and our toddler! Even had a kids menu, service was wonderful and we will most definitely go back next time we’re in Calgary!

        Born and raised in Calgary, heard Smugglers Inn was really good. Figured I'll take my mom for her 75th birthday. Our reservations were at 5:00pm, so first table to be seated for dinner. Both mine and my mom's meals were like warm. Paying $60/dinner it should be hot. Server ordered the wrong steak for my son, so he had to wait longer for his food. At least his was hot when it came. Dessert came but just for my mom, no biggie. My mom ate hers while we waited for the other 2 desserts. They ask if there's a special occasion for tonight, but they don't do anything special for those occasions so not sure why they bother asking. It's my first and last time I'll be there. I'll stick to Hy's or The Keg.

        I had order baked potato and it came mashed. Did bring me a baked, but it want hot and had little taste. Serve slow but was friendly. Too a long time for the bill to arrive. I won’t be returning.

        See the full Google review for Smugglers which was a 1 star review. If I was ever there it would have been a long time ago so for my birthday, I thought I would try somewhere different from the Keg down the road as the salad bar on their website is why I chose the Smugglers. It wasn't even close. So even if the waiter said it was under new ownership, why was the website not changed? Who was giving me BS?? I just won't EVER bother going back and will never recommend them.

        It seems they may have been short staffed in both the kitchen and restaurant. It took a long time to get our meals. The chicken dinner was very salty. Our server was very nice.

        The salad bar is back but not as good as it once was. They changed the recipe for the Portuguese Bean Soup and it is not as good as it once was. The Bar service was great. The Prime rib was well prepared. The worst part of the night was when the fire alarm went off.

        We visited Smugglers on a Friday night at 7:00 pm The place was crowded which might explain why we waited 75 minutes for our order. The salad bar was running low or was out of several toppings (like pumpkin seeds) The sign said Iceberg Lettuce but it was clearly Romaine. They used to have a bernaise sauce as an add-on to Prime Rib, but that was removed from the menu for reasons unknown. We ordered several soft-drinks which were served in the smallest glasses they could find and it too our waitress several minutes (between 10 to 15) to bring us a refill which because of the small glasses, she had to do multiple times. Bad planning on so many levels.
