Friday and Saturday nights are legendary in the Ship Tavern. Live music (Joh Kite on piano Friday, and his jazz quartet Saturday) and people singing while everyone enjoys great food and one-of-a-kind historic ambience.

We had a wonderful dinner at Ship Tavern (although I still refer to it as Ship’s Tavern). I enjoyed the chicken schnitzel, and my friend had the fish and chips. My dinner was great! The chicken was moist and tender while the outside was crispy and crunchy. The sauce on the chicken added to the flavor. My friend found her fish perfectly cooked with the crust crispy and the fish tender. The wait staff were attentive without being intrusive.

We were excited to try an historic restaurant with a story . We thought that with history dating to 1932, that Ships Tavern would create a seafood chowder to remember. Oh, we will remember the pastiest , bland flavorless chowder ever. Chicken schnitzel that was not only dry , but repurposed salt as the main ingredient . A crab cake that resembled a mush that could not be replicated at home on your worst night of cooking . Sorry, but this ship has sailed , or worse , sunk . Sad story !

Classy Beer Pub design with superb limited menu American cuisine. Elk Chili with waffle is a great pair.

Food came quickly, but was a bit dry. Also the windows need to be cleaned and the items in the widow sills need to be dusted

We were introduced to Ship’s Tavern on a downtown Denver history walking tour. We returned for lunch to meet a family member and found out it was my aunt and uncle’s favorite place for many years. Love the atmosphere and the nautical decor. The soup and salad were wonderful.

For many years, The Brown Palace has been a Denver icon known for its beautiful ambience, excellent food and service. Then for a while it slipped a little. But I am so pleased that the "Old Brown Palace" is back, due I was told to new management. My family and I had a delightful birthday lunch. I had the Prime Rib which came with both au jus and horseradish sauce. It was cooked perfectly. The onion rings were fantastic! they had a light, flaky batter and came with a delicious dip. The French fries with parmesan and truffle oil are also very, very good. The staff is really out to please and make your dining experience exceptional. I will go back again & again & will take my out-of town visitors there.

The chicken schnitzel was not what was expected. Diner suggested veal instead. Wagyu Burger was a little soggy. The fish and chips were awesome! Also the clam chowder is still fantastic.
