Reception and wait service was excellent. Beautiful views! Food beautifully presented. Tasty. Comfortable surroundings.
Excellent food. Excellent view. Wonderful background live pianist playing during dinner.
We made reservations and didn't wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. We had an appetizer of the blacken scallops that we're excellent. I had the special dish of the day grilled swordfish with smashed potatoes. The swordfish was average but generious amount, my wife had the surf and turf which the steak was very tasty and tender along with the lobster. My son it was his 18th birthday we were celebrating got the black grouper with rossitto that he wasn't to impressed with. We had desserts. I had key lime pie and my wife and son had creme brulee that we're all excellent. They gave my son's dessert complimentary for his birthday. Overall it was a nice night little high-priced.
We brought my parents here for a night out while they were in town. They had been here 22 years ago and remembered eating dinner hanging out over the bay. If you want a perfectly cooked seafood dinner, excellent service, and the gorgeous bay for your scenery, this is your place. Bring your guests here, they’ll never forget it!
Absolutely the best place we’ve dined. Great food , service and drinks. We’ve been all over the world and 90% of Florida.
Lovely night !!
Great service by Jade !!
Great atmosphere; a wonderful view of the bay; very good food; and excellent service made for a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.
It was wonderful. The food was fantastic. The blackened scallop appetizer was amazing
Ahmed was an excellent server. Food was delicious and atmosphere was fun
We love Rusty Pelican for that old Florida dinner club vibe and their excellent food and service.
Request a window seat!
Excellent Mother's Day brunch. My wife absolutely loved it.
I was lucky enough to secure a prime time slot on Mother’s Day. We used to dine at the Rusty Pelican in California, but this was our first time here in Florida.
At first, the price seemed a little steep, but once I scanned the menu choices on the app, the price seemed very reasonable.
Our servers (Sandra and Tao) were the best I have ever seen. They accommodated us in every way and seemed to know what we needed before we even asked for it!
The food: this isn’t your standard buffet with lower tier quality stuff . This selection is all “top shelf” quality, both in preparation and presentation. Everything was delicious! From the cheeses to the seared Ahi tuna. Expense was not spared at this establishment.
Bottomless mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar...boom!
All that’s left to say is my wife and I will DEFINITELY be back there. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves seafood and everything in between. (No pictures because I left my phone in the car)
Excellent service and great food! It was a very romantic dinner and Tim, our waiter was awesome!
Great water view from all tables, excellent seafood, presentation and friendly staff.
Amanda Kohler gave us outstanding service. The entire staff was gracious and the food was exquisite!
Overall this was a dissapointing experience. We had a great table with a beautiful view. However, the service was not what you would expect from a restaurant in this price range. The cocktails my husband and I had were downright awful. There were four of us in our party, two of us enjoyed our meals and the other two did not. I was one of the ones that enjoyed my entree but thought the side dish was awful, I kindly asked if I could have it replaced and the waiter said of course, he would replace it. He brought me a different side. When the bill came , there was a charge for two sides. We pointed this out, and he did take one side off. The menu clearly states that a salad or soup with an entree (we all had dinner entrees) was $5.00. It wasnt until I looked at the bill when I got home that I noticed we were charged the a la carte price of $8.00 for each of the two soups we had! If we had not caught the first double charge we would have been overcharged $12.00. Anyhow, $200.00 later....I would not return! Too many other great places to eat in Tampa with quality food and quality service. It is a shame because the views are beautiful and the facility is rustic and charming.
Old world ambience. Great food. Wonderful view. Non-rushed meal.
Took my parents for lunch. Mom liked the setting and the view. Dad really enjoyed looking at the bay. Mom had the grouper and loved it I had the Cioppino and not only was it tasty it was also larger than expected.
Multiple people over-served alcohol on the Sunday before Mother’s Day. Selection was limited, but our service was outstanding.
The quality of the food was excellent. This was Sunday Brunch and choice was very good. It had the normal breakfast choice, custom omelette, custom taco, beef and ham carvery. There was salad choices, fish choice including Ahi Tuna, fresh salmon, smoked salmon, shrimp cocktails. Also large shrimp, crab legs, muscles and clams. There was a choice of pastry and fruit. You could also order from your sever a selection of small plates. I had short ribs.
The service was very attentive, despite being very busy.
went for sunday brunch the food was fantastic. don't leave without trying the grits. all the seafood was perfect and the prime rib melted in your mouth will definitely be returning here
Food was great and portions made the price reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Our sever was incredible which made our experience that much better!
Beautiful restaurant right on the water, high end seafood and steaks. Nothing particularly creative about the cuisine but well done and high quality. Service was a bit inexperienced but tried very hard. Only complaints are that it took a very long time for the food to come out and long interludes between seeing our servers; also they keep it quite chilly in the restaurant but then have fire places all over (odd for a Florida location in May when 90F outside).
We arrived early for our reservation and there were slot of empty tables but they wouldn’t seat us anyway. So we went back up to the hostess ten minutes before our reservation time and they still wouldn’t seat us until it was exactly 5:45 our reservation time. Absolutely ridiculous there were so many empty tables..It was my sons prom night and I think they took advantage of a couple of teenagers.
While having a warm and scenic ambience, the food just wasn't great, especially for the $$. They put cheese in everything and overbooked the seafood.
We wanted to go someplace on the water since we would only be in Tampa one day on business. It was so lovely. We walked around outside on the grounds and took pictures. When we went in side it was so pretty and the food was delicious.
My second time here and I really like the atmosphere, the stuff is friendly and professional and the food is good, probably the most important aspect is the atmosphere.. it change completely by the sunset.. nice place
First time here and we really enjoyed the Sunday brunch. There were feeatboptions and Tim was an outstanding host!
Was able to get a table by the the big widow overlooking the bay. Great view. A bit pricey but worth it.
What a gem. This restaurant has stood the test of time. The food is delicious, the drinks are fantastic, the ambience is perfect, and the service is exceptional. Go early and watch the sunset from your table.
Our first visit to this restaurant left us unimpressed and probably won't make the journey from Southeast St. Pete to dine again. All went reasonably well -we were seated promptly and our server was very responsive and helpful.....we ordered a dozen oysters and while they were fresh, cold and tasty they had not been separated from the shell so we had to labor and use spoons to remove....not good. Both main courses were delivered in a timely manner and were ok but nothing special.....overall we felt for $140 for two we would have been more impressed - we were not.....
We were a group of 4, went for my sister's birthday and everything was delicious. The grouper and ravioli were wonderful as were the desserts. They have a creme brulee dessert they top with rum and light on fire at the table. And instead of a to go plastic bag they give you reusable shopping bags which is amazing! Definitely recommend!
Everything was great
Great food, great service (except for the grumpy cook at the omelette station - omelette was great though).
Attend Sunday Brunch once a month and NEVER disappointed!!! Food & service consistently provided with excellence. Love Tim our waiter!
Great food. They had a lot of different options, so you are able to try a wide variety of things.
My best friend and her daughter came to visit and we took them for brunch at the Rusty Pelican. Fantastic food and selection. The service was on point, our drinks were never empty. I can’t say enough good about this place. I will definitely bring all my guests there and recommend it to anyone.
Great views of the Bay.
The Rusty Pelican is a great all around experience. From the ambiance, to the view to the food & drinks. It’s more like a $$ to $$ priced menu, but I never leave feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth.
The drinks are well made and the have a good selection of craft beers in bottles. The food, from the appetizers to the desert is delicious!
We were in a party of six, the service was prompt, all our food and drinks were prepared as ordered. Food was hot & incredibly fresh!
Our waitress, Victoria was new, but you’d not have know that with her ability to serve this party. Her attitude was very pleasant & professional. She even know I wanted another beer, but wasn’t sure so she prompted me! Good call Victoria!
When I’m in Tampa and my team deserves to be spoiled for all their hard work, Intake them to the Rusty Pelican!
