Rusty Pelican - Tampa
Crab-Stuffed Gulf Grouper
Jumbo Crab, Basil Garlic Beurre Blanc, Herbed Risotto
Marinated Gulf Shrimp, Snow Peas and Carrots
Great place with amazing food. A bit on the pricy side, but the food was well worth it. We were surprised at how quickly the food came out once ordered and I would recommend not getting any appetizers and just eating the jalapeño cornbread they bring out it was AMAZING.
We went to the Rusty Pelican to celebrate our 35th anniversary and chose this restaurant because of its wonderful location overlooking Tampa Bay and its food reputation. We have been there a few times prior, though not for the past few years.
The biggest negative is the noise level - it was crowded for a Tuesday night and the tables were crowded together - constant reverberating noise for yes, a happy crowd, but not for a sense of quiet ambience and low key conversation.
Food was high quality, but prices are steep. Service ok, but should have been more attentive. Outside of restaurant once lush and charming, now needs revitalizing. I our view, it's not the place for a special restaurant experience.
Food was good but definitely not worth the price. Drinks were terrible. Service was mediocre.
Very nice atmosphere near the water . I got the request asked for by the window. Waitress was excellent no complaints and my husband absolutely loved the food it was the best Father’s Day gift ever
Amanda was our waitress she couldn’t have been more attentive and friendly.
I love the Rusty Pelican.
We went for the Father's day brunch to Rusty Pelican and it was a prix fixe menu with 3 courses. I had the crab cake benedict which was very underwhelming, the poached eggs were overcooked and it didn't feel like eating a traditional egg benedict. My husband had the salmon which was strictly ok. They had an assortment of desserts as part of the prix fixe menu with a lot of variety but individually all the desserts were low quality. It almost felt like they got the desserts from a grocery store for a bargain price and served it as a gourmet. There was a dulche de leche lava cake as part of the assortment which was supposed to ooze out as informed by the waitress but upon slicing into the cake, all we saw was a dense and dry interior. The food was super pricey at $75/head and we were very disappointed with the quality of the food overall. The view from our table was breathtaking and that was perhaps the only redeeming factor for us.
Everything was amazing !
Great Father’s Day brunch. Beautiful view of the water.
We waited for 30 minutes to be seated even after having a reservation. Food was mediocre and did not live up to the value.
It was so overpriced for mass produced banquet type food. So far from fine dining and unfortunately they charge fine dining prices. Never again
Table clothes and cloth napkins for the price were expected.
Menu choices were by far the smallest selection we have seen.
Bathrooms were disgusting. Otherwise our experience was amazing.
We celebrated Father's Day early and the day was perfect. Our hostess and her team was nothing less than top notch. The food had a great presentation and taste was great. We will definitely be returning.
Perfection all the way, from host to service. Atmosphere outstanding.
Father’s Day brunch was fantastic!!
Great food, environment, good service prices could be better but overall worth it.
Vacation destination…made reservation to enjoy dinner on the water. Wonderful for, atmosphere and our server Shay J was awesome!
Our waitress was Shaw J.; she was absolutely amazing. My wife and I flew down to Tampa, FL from Charleston, WV and took a chance on this particular restaurant and we were not disappointed at all. From the lighting of the room, noise level, the food and the customer service; no complaints.
The food was beyond excellent, it was hot, appearance of the food was flawless.
The waitress; guided us through her personal taste of what to order and it was right on point. Shaw J. could not have been more courteous and professional to us, just as professional and sweet as she could be.
We requested a window seat and was able to get it, the fireplaces were a nice touch as well.
Rustic Pelican is a class act as well as the food and service, it was our 10th Wedding Anniversary and we could not have picked a better place to celebrate it.
Thanks Rustic Pelican for making a memorable occasion; memorable.

Beautiful view and amazing food. The cauliflower appetizer and the sea bass were outstanding
Reservation at 8. Was not seated until 8:15. Took another 10 minutes until a waiter greeted us. Had to send back a cocktail (Old Fashioned) 2x. Third was still not right but no sense trying for a third. Food was tasty but was arrived cold. The Med Rare filet was tender and tasty but too cold. As was the grouper. The complimentary cornbread was served 2 minutes before our meal. Timing was terrible. The setting and ambiance are very nice and hopefully they improve other areas. Will not go back anytime soon
Some of the best food I've ever had. Combined with some of the best service I've ever experienced. The Rusty Pelican was nothing short of outstanding!!
The menu was very limited. The salmon salad and grilled chicken sandwich was dry. For the price we paid, the food wasn't the best quality.
Our expectations for a place this expensive fell short. The food was inconsistent, some was outstanding some was terrible. The wait staff was superb, the manager attempted too make amends but overall the experience fell short. We were a large party (8), there were alot of people and three weddings going on simultaneously. The delays for food may have been because they were so busy. Don't think we will be back.
Food, service and views were fantastic. Parking on the other hand is a nightmare, three weddings were happening and parking was cutthroat at best.
Dined on June 12 for our anniversary. We had the same thing so I can only comment on the Stuffed Grouper with Crab Meat and risotto. It was done to perfection, however it did need a touch of salt. I’d rather it be under salted than salty, so it’s fine. Had the conch fritters and they were good, but too much breading. We both had Creme Brûlée and it was delicious, we’re comped for one of the desserts because of our anniversary. Beautiful water views, great ambience, and highly recommend.
Great food great waiter great view it is nice to see a great old Florida place
The feel of the dining experience was so so.the price if the food was expensive for what you receive.the taste of the food was not as expected. Will most likely not be back.
First time diners and we loved it. Amazing view, food, and service!
Very consistent in terms of quality, service, and overall experience.
Great atmosphere, great food and beautiful view of the bay!
My wife and I felt the pricing was was excessive for average food.
The sound acoustic is very bad in the restaurant. It’s hard to have a conversation. Food is surprising underwhelming . We had the sampling board. The fish was fresh but had no seasoning.
Good food, good people!
Amazing food, service was great we will definitely go back
Food was amazing, waterfront view was awesome, excellent service all around
Great views but noise levels continued to escalate over the course of our meal —- to the point that we weren’t able to hear each other without almost yelling and repeating ourselves. Food and service are very good but not the place to have a discussion while dining.
Our server was awesome and very attentive. Shrimp risotto was great as well as stuff crab grouper. I had New York steak with two halves a very small lobster, the size of shrimp. The New York steak was tough and laced with gristle. I had it prepared medium. But overall the Rusty Pelican was great to enjoy my birthday meal.
