Crab-Stuffed Gulf Grouper
Jumbo Crab, Basil Garlic Beurre Blanc, Herbed Risotto
Marinated Gulf Shrimp, Snow Peas and Carrots
My fiancé was served cold shrimp risotto which we brought to the servers attention, he said to amend the situation he’d let the chef know... no solution to our Cold meal, but hey at least the next group of suckers eating here won’t have to worry about cold meals. So in summary first impression of the old rust bucket pelican, is you have the opportunity to eat Cold Rice and shrimp you could get at publix.
Anniversary Dinner. We were married at the Rusty Pelican 13 years ago. We go back every year and we love it. The food was great and they always treat us to cream brûlée at the end of the night! The views are gorgeous.
The food and the service were great. Prices are a bit indulgent, but it’s worth it for a special occasion
Carmen was awesome server! Food was terrific! View of course spectacular. Thanks! (A broader wine selection would be goo!) :-)
Ruined our birthday dinner. Felt like dining on cheap diner restaurant. The food I wanted was sold out so ordered seafood tower, I had to ask for oyster pick, wet napkins, horseradish, and on top of that the lobsters and oysters are not de-shelled. The server awkwardly singing while she was serving at the table, friendly yet she forgets and I had to ask for the service that made me think her smile and words weren’t sincere. Wrong information on bottled water, risotto had hard core like texture, grouper and sea bass were sauced/seasoned in strange combination it didn’t bring out the goodness of those precious fish, fillet mignon had strong liver like scent. At the end, the server left payment tablet without paper installed, she realized it was out of paper and asked me if I needed receipt after I made payment without no receipt option. Everything was not right at the night of visit, I went back there because had nice time in previous visit but I think I won’t go back there again. I just feel the price, service and food does not match up. Oh, the view is spectacular if you ask for window seat, that’s the only thing I liked about this restaurant.
Wrote on the reservation that we wanted a window seat. We were taken to a non window seat.
no big deal we had to wait 10 min for a window seat to open. other than that.
Service was great, Carmen was very good at her job!!
The service was top notch from the hostess to my server. My server was Javier and he was very attentive and friendly. The food quality was up to my standards. Keep up the good work!
We went for Mother’s Day brunch. The view was nice. The servers were very friendly. The prices were a little high for the quality of food and portion size. I’d like to go back and eat from the regular menu. Maybe that will change my mind.
First and foremost the restaurant is beautiful. I was a bit disappointed in the bar (actually a lot disappointed). My server was perfect she was very attentive and as quick as she could be. Food was a little slow but it was excellent. Overall it was good.
2nd time at the Rusty Pelican, truly love coming here! Food is always amazing, and great service.
Food was very tasty..well seasoned. Our server Frank was fun and professional and was very attentive to our needs.
We expected to really be wowed. The view was nice. The restaurant was nice. Our waitress was kind, on top of it and really did her job well.
Crab cake had a large piece of crab shell in it. broccoli side was horrible. Filet mignon was quite flavorless. Fish was rubbery. We wouldn’t recommend. We may return but probably not for a while.
Great service but the food wasn’t what we hoped for.
Great first experience. Highly recommended
Birthday and no acknowledgment 😧after stated he would get something
Great place for an early mother's day brunch. View was amazing. We were a table of 9 and food, service were great.
Room was noisy at times due to other large parties all in the same place. Wish that part was better but all in all a great experience and we will certainly return and recommend to others.
Very nice place booked online requested a window seat the view was amazing food was good will return
Great food, great service and great ambiance, as usual.
I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. The food is simply delicious; the seafood fresh. You have a view of the Bay from just about every seat.
Overall, our group was disappointed. Seems as though we had a new/undertrained server and/or the restaurant was overwhelmed and unable to accommodate diners while hosting 2 weddings. They crammed our group of 11 at a round top suitable for 8 people to eat comfortably. Our food took an astonishing 2+ hours to be served to us and was brought out in pieces so while we waited for everyone to be served, food started to get cold. The kicker was the last dish to be brought out (a filet) was served cold. It also took an unreasonably long time for our sever to clear our table, figure out our checks, distribute checks, fix the checks that were incorrect, collect payment and return payment. We wound up having an unanticipated nearly 4 hour less than delightful experience that impacted our plans that followed dinner. The food itself (that was eaten fresh and warm) was overall very delicious and was priced appropriately. That was truly the only positive aspect of our experience and as we were celebrating two birthdays it left us incredibly disappointed. My recommendation is to plan appropriately and if hosting two weddings and a full restaurant of patrons puts too much pressure on the kitchen and staff, then simply don’t do it.
I had made a reservation weeks in advance as we were coming down to Florida on a weekend vacation. We arrived early and decided to get a drink at the bar. I ordered a "PLC" and it was disgusting. It was in a martini class with a lemon, and not at all how the menu described. In my reservation preferences I requested that we sit at a table next to the windows so that we could have a water view during dinner. As we were being sat by the hostess (about 3 feet before we arrived to our table), she states that she got us as close as she could to the water. Our table was not near the window at all so I asked her if we could sit at another table (pointing to an open table next to a window) to which she replied "that is for another reservation). It was 7pm so we decided to go ahead and sit at the table the hostess provided us. As we were waiting for our dinner we ordered another drink and I went ahead and ordered Prosecco which came in an individual/small bottle. As I was away from the table, our server took the bottle from our table without a) waiting until i returned to see if it was empty or b) asking my guest if i was done with it... which I was not, there was half a bottle left. Lastly, my bill was $50.53 and I paid with a $100 making my change $49.47 however I only received $49 back. Now, I am not pressed for the 0.47 cents, but technically, I should have received all of my change. I guess my suggestions are: don't get your hopes up about your reservation preferences (my fault) don't leave your beverage unattended at your table and don't pay with cash :)
Highly recommend, especially for special occasions! Danielle was a wonderful server. We celebrated our anniversary weekend and we’re so glad we chose Rusty Pelican to help with celebration. Food was great, ambiance was amazing - can’t beat the view! Thanks for making our celebration a special experience!
Excellent restaurant with a beautiful view!
One of the best severs ever!
Beautiful view and atmosphere. Food and service was very good as well.
I feel like the food and the ambiance was over rated.
Food was great, service was great! However, it was SO loud.
In all honesty I love rusty pelican and I am not sure if it has to do with Covid but the food quality has diminished , I was there in February 2020 before Covid and the food was outstanding, but this time the food was lacking a bit, the chipotle hollandaise sauce had no kick to it and several items were lacking salt, the best was the side of bacon and the créme brûlée that was delicious!! The food looks delicious but was lacking the flavor that it used to have!!
Absolutely delicious! The lava cake was beyond amazing.
They put us in a conferee room with a lot of noise from other groups. The other groups overwhelmed our server and we waited over 45 minutes for our main entrees and most were cold. I would suggest eating in main dining room if possible.
Entirely too loud. Food is good but overpriced. Took too long for food to be served. Had to request the check. If you are looking for a quiet dining experience, this is not the place.
I went here for my birthday date with my husband and it was a lovely experience. The staff was nice and attentive. I did a reservation to sit close to the windows and that’s exactly what I got.
Food and drinks were delicious. I would recommend and go again.
Invited friends for my wife’s birthday. The food and the service were excellent. Everything went well, even with a big wedding celebration going on in the next room. I will definitely go back for more special occasions.
The brunch board for two is not to be missed! Excellent service. Beautiful establishment!
This is the definition of the type of restaurant that has the view but everything else about the dining experience was absolutely terrible. We were seated 35 minutes after our reservation time, supervisor blamed the host, took no accountability. Food was mediocre. Poached eggs were hard boiled. Asked for newly poached eggs and they came out overdone again. This is a brunch place, with Benedicts on the menu, how does this happen? Drinks were watered down, obviously batched. Server was nice, Sandy. No acknowledgment from mgmt about our wait time, or food disappointment. This place is a complete junk show, and the F&B leadership should be replaced. I manage James Beard awarded restaurants and this was so awful to experience, I cannot understand how this place is on business. This was our first and obvious last time dining here.
Great make sure you request window seat. Dolphins
Food was tasty. 3 people ordred Bennidicts and all were ice cold when served. I ordered a waffle with bacon. COLD
Very disappointed! 3 hostesses that were not communicating. Reservation at 8:15 pm, but were not seated until 9 pm.. at a table that we took so we could just be seated. Then 5 minutes later a table opened up and we moved to a table by the window...
Waitress and food were bright spot.
We will never go to this restaurant again or recommend it.
Our food took a long time to come out. They said it was because a medium well steak took extra long to cook but can't imagine how that would be the case.
Come on a double date. Arrived before our reservation time and waited about 15minutes after our reservation which was fine because we requested a window table for sunset. We ordered drinks from the bar. The ambiance of the restaurant is awesome! The space is very loud which was fine for us. Service was on the slow side, maybe because they were busy. Fried calamari was very good but the Key West conch fritters were burnt and hard to chew. We then had a lengthy wait until our entrees arrived. The Rusty Pelican board for 2 was okay. Presentation was nice but the food arrived lukewarm which quickly turned cold. The other 2 in our party both ordered the fillet. They said it was good but not the best they've had in the area. In addition to entrees 2 meals added lobster tail. The smallest lobster tail I have ever seen, barely larger than the shrimp in the risotto. Overall, the ambiance made the date night but now that we've experienced it, I don't think we will return.
A great dining experience, lovely venue. The food was fantastic and the view is wonderful. The service was top notch!
