Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own.
At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!
I hadn't been to Root Down in years so figured I'd go back for girls brunch. Our server was great but the food was mehh especially for the price. I really see no need to return there.
A little pricey for the portion sizes but the food was amazing!
We had an enjoyable evening. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He was helpful in making wine and dinner choices. The food was delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and were treated with a yummy dessert.
Great server! Amazing food! Good for a nice date!
This is probably my favorite breakfast place in Denver. Their food is really excellent and they always try to accommodate you. I love their eggs benedict. They often have several versions of it that are worth trying, but sometimes rotate out the seasonal selections. When I take people here, no one ever has a negative experience. If you want an excellent brunch in denver, this is the place to try. I will warn you though that this place books up fast, so make sure to book in advance, especially if you have a large party.
Adult chocolate milk and lamb burger are amazing. Great brunch and date place
Five stars on every metric! The food was excellent. I highly recommend the lamb sliders.
I hadn’t been in a little while - and the food was better than I remembered. Really great flavors and reasonably priced. The manager Andy was both informative and personable. I will definitely be back!
One small downside - the wine selection really seems to have suffered since my last visit both in selection and quality. But the cocktails were great.
Never disappointed with Root Down. This has been one of my favorite Denver locations for years and did not disappoint. The Rockfish Tom kha is to die for. Extremely gluten friendly!
The service here is professional and friendly. A good menu and very accommodating and knowledgeable. After an experience the previous night at another Denver “hipster hell” restaurant, this was a great night out.
Very nice casual atmosphere. Our server was fantastic and food was delicious.
Great place to eat as always! One of the best parts is that the noise level is not deafening and you can actually have a conversation with the other people at your table. The other thing we like is that even the other people are happy and glad to be there which fosters an atmosphere for you to have actual conversations with people at other tables.
If you could not tell, I highly recommend this place!
As always, great food, great service, great vibe!
Best breakfast ever!
First time at Root Down and everything was amazing. Food was great, service was awesome and bonus we can walk to it. Going to become a go to spot.
We had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
We dined at Root Down on a Friday night during Denver restaurant week, so the place was hopping. You wouldn't have known that from our server who was charming and solicitous, making sure that we were well taken care of. I had the Thai curry soup which had just the right amount of kick. My husband had the beet salad which he said was more arugula than beet, but he likes arugula so was satisfied . He had the Moroccan chicken and found it quick tasty. I had the 3 chili pork loin which was supposed to come medium rare, but there was no pink and it was on the dry side. Otherwise, it was a nicely prepared dish. The desserts were well done. The portions were just the right size; that said, I couldn't finish my croissant bread pudding and it was so yummy.
What a great spot! We tried Root Down for the first time during restaurant week and chose to have their prix fix opt-in with paired wine. My husband and I intentionally ordered different items so we could try more items. Everything was superb!. And our server, Amanda, was delightful as well. This place is fit for foodies, and we will mist definitely be coming back.
Tiffany was energetic and very complementary to the whole experience. Delicious, healthy, Celiac friendly meal. Highly recommend.
As new residents to CO, we heard great things about the restaurant...and all expectations were met. The food was excellent! (Loved the flat iron steak & lamb sliders!) And the service was top notch! We will most definitely return!
Unique atmosphere. Food and service were superb. We look forward to returning when the weather is warm enough to sit on your great patios.
Amazing food! Everything was delicious. Our server was incredibly, very relaxed and friendly. Will definitely return.
Yummy at every course. Their beet salad has always been a favorite. Chicken is so tender and moist and such creative use of lentils. Their Croissant bread pudding is now my new favorite bread pudding and I have a lot of experience eating bread pudding! Service is perfect.
Went for restaurant week and it was my first time there. Had the carrot gnocchi for my first course which was really really good. Had the rockfish tom kha for my main which was absolutely amazing. Had the chocolate bombe thing for my dessert which was sooo good. Paige was our server and she was really nice and attentive. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again.
Great service and food was outstanding. Friendly staff. Really positive experience.
Unusual, inventive dishes with unique combination of ingredients. Delicious meal and fabulous personalized service. Special treat for sure!
Excellent service and friendly staff!
Was great. First time at Root Down. Will definitely return.
Very allergy friendly menu and waitstaff. Options for vegan and glutenfree diners. Creative menu, and nice ambiance.
Always great food and service. This place never disappoints.
We had a wonderful experience! We tried their restaurant week menu and it was delightful. Delicious with the wine pairings! It was also our anniversary and they made it so special. Amazing service!
Place rocks badly as anyone Who’s been there knows. Location, bad, drinks, food, all creative an excellent
Deservers every star it has. There are restaurants in the Highlands with confusingly high ratings but this place has earned its spot at the top. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My only suggestions is to eat dessert first, savor the ice cream and take the appetizer salad home.
Great service. Food was okay this time. Always love the ambiance.
Wonderful menu, well-executed for Restaurant Week with great service. Thanks!!!!
Sunday Brunch was awesome Brad P the bartender was amazing with his wealth of knowledge on cocktails
