Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own.
At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!

New Year's Eve Special Menus & Offers
Root Down will be offering a special New Year's Eve menu to ring in the new year! Menu TBD.
This was our 2nd visit. They let us sit outside under a heater and we enjoyed our friends for 3 hours! Service was great. Cocktails are creativ, wine list was good. We were there for Restaurant Week . The menu choices were really great, compared to many other menus I looked at. They had many regular items. We loved everything we had. Beet salad, Devils on Horseback, Curry Soup, Chicken, Rockfish and Pork entrees, and all three desserts. The 4 of us loved it all!
We went to Root Down to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect!!
Amazing, creative dishes, super friendly staff and great atmosphere!
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding! We went for restaurant week right before the ban of indoor dining and we're so happy that we did. It was a great way to enjoy a final meal indoors for who knows how long.
Delicious, we will come back to try other items on the menu!
Always excellent food quality, & presentation... very clean, strong attention to detail regarding safety... ease of reservations & seating... thank you!!!!
Great food and great service! Bummed we were limited to the 1 hr 30 min time limit, but everything else was amazing.
Birthday dinner was all around fabulous. Amazing server, food, mocktail, dessert, etc.
Such amazing dinner and service! Everything reminded me why I used to come here a few years ago! Returning this week. Keep it up.
Great overall dining experience!
* Very innovative and interesting menu selection
* Very attentive staff
* We loved the interior design and ambiance
Fantastic dinner! Loved the carrot & red Thai curry soup and the Moroccan chicken particularly.
Great vegan options and portions. Presentation and flavor of dishes was impressive.
We had a great time here. The outdoor seating was well heated and comfortable. The food was very tasty and the staff were super friendly. We look forward to coming back again!
My husband and I were visiting from out of town and were looking for a delicious, gluten free restaurant. Root Down was highly rated and was listed as a “must do” on so many travel blogs. I can see why. We had wonderful service, delicious food, and an attentive server. Next time we are in the Denver area we will visit again!
We had a very tasty brunch.
an explosion of flavors in your mouth. almost went back again for dinner
Great atmosphere....amazing small plates. The entrée was slow to arrive and not as tasty...a little dry. But otherwise a great joint to eat at.
Rootdown never disappoints. Great food, sat on the patio, delicious drinks and an amazing server who did not lead us astray.
I took my friends visiting from FL for brunch. They absolutely loved it! Such a great place which is so unique and the food was so amazing. Looking forward to going back!
Amazing fried egg sandwich and always a great blood orange margarita. Covid-friendly and feels safe.
Always a great spot. Fun atmosphere and delicious food!
The food and service were amazing. The only complaint we had was that the portions were really small for the price of each dish. You would need to order a small plate and an entree to have a full meal and that would end up costing you about $35-$40 per person. We would potentially go back but only for a very special occasion where we were willing to really go all out and splurge since it is so expensive.
Fantastic dinner with my wife on election night to get away from the madness. Root Down always delivers fantastic vegan options for me which I am really appreciative of and creative cuisine for my wife. Another magical evening, thank you so much!
Sat down and was greeted with water. We said we needed a minute to decide, but then over 20 mins went by without seeing our server. Another server came outside, took another tables order and they received their food before our server even came back. We were completely out of our glass jug of water they gave us by the time she came back. She finally came back and didn’t apologize for anything.
Everything we had was super good, the country fried tofu is some of the best tofu I have had!!
I was in town for my birthday and picked Root Down as my brunch spot. It was the absolute best! Everyone loved their meals and our waitress was so great! I will definitely be back if I’m ever in Denver again!
My favorite restaurant in Denver! I really hope I can go again the next time im in town.
Food was alright, service wasn’t. Won’t be back after dining here several times.
We dined at a spacious patio table around 5:30 and the setting, service and food was all perfect!
While most in our party got the Tom Kai fish- a not too spicy version with loads of cooked in flavors, I enjoyed the vegie sliders.
I loved it. Not a cheap place to eat but actually felt the food was worth it. :)
Root Down rocks! The food and service are consistently great. We sat very comfortably outdoors on the patio. They have overhead heaters to keep the chill away once the sun goes down.
Great food and ambiance.
Great atmosphere for brunch or anytime! Staff is friendly as well and checks on everyone often.
Love Root Down! One of my favorite restaurants in Denver. Fantastic brunch.
Great place for brunch! Will definitely be going back.
The Service and attention to detail was well above the normal. The staff was friendly and provided an experience that is shareable to all my friends and family.
Amazing to have so many vegan options as well as options for meat eaters. This was one of the first times in awhile I have been able to order an appetizer, entree, and dessert that were all vegan while my carnivore boyfriend could eat what he wanted.
My meat-eating boyfriend loved all the veggie dishes we ordered. The food here is top notch! Will definitely be back!
After reading the top 20 places to eat in Denver I booked a table for when I came to visit. The hostess told us that she would need the table back by 9:00. Our reservation was for 7:30. I thought this very strange and just set the evening off a little. Our table was by the back door to the patio seating. It was freezing this weekend and we would get an attic blast every time the door opened. I have to say our waitress was amazing and did a great job at explaining the menu.! The sweet potato fries are amazing. The trout special was ok. My friend and I got the shrimp and avocado ceviche tacos. Very refreshing and crisp. They are served on a jicama taco. My other gf raved about the steak. She was the only one who cleaned her plate! The s’mores dessert was just ok. It was small and had orange peel all over which was not listed in the description. The key lime dessert was amazing! And big enough to share, unlike the s’mores dessert. Overall I left feeling not satisfied. But to be honest I think the hostess set the downer tone. I was watching my watch the whole dinner. And when we left the restaurant was empty with none waiting.
We went here for our anniversary and Root Down did not disappoint. We have been to several Michelin star restaurants in past and the food quality and overall experience at Root Down is on the same level. Specifically the Cauliflower App was so amazing we ordered two! Loved the small plates concept and can't wait to go back for our next special occasion.
