Both the appetizers were lacking salt. And the duck was over smoked. Our server was very nice but the timing of the selections was off

The atmosphere is sorely lacking. The ceiling panels appear to be from the original build-out.

We order 7 different plates. We liked the meatball, beets (we ordered a second plate), radishes, fries and brussel sprouts. We did not like the crispy goat cheese ball-very little cheese or the smokey eggplant baby ghanoush-it lacked any flavor.

They were out of both Tempranillo bottle options. Kind of weird. But we got something else we liked.

Love eating at Prelude and Post before a show. Mira always takes great care of us and the food is consistently delicious and diverse.

It's definitely a Prelude, nothing too big for dinner, lots of small noshes. Probably a good thing, before theater. Our waiter kept forgetting our drinks..had to ask twice. Not "Kevin Taylor" worthy!

Our server was good and the food was good - solid and well executed. My real issue is with the ambiance or the lack thereof. It has the feel of a cafeteria or sandwich joint - especially the lighting. I realize most people are probably there to grab a quick bite before the show and maybe that’s the intent for you to feel uncomfortable so get in and get out. We might go again before a show but if they want to generate business on non-show nights they need to make some changes.

We went for pre-theater dinner. The new design and rebranding was done very well and quite successfully! The food was fantastic...we had the bubbling goat Brie, fried Brussels sprouts, cornbread and Nashville hot chicken. Coursing was spot on, as was the service (Ryan was our server - ask for him), including a very engaging food runner. There was a constant and noticeable manager presence on the floor, insuring a proper pre-show flow as well as engagement with guests. Bravo!

The updated look is pleasing and the food is better than ever. The menu is excellent and everything we had was great. The smoked duck breast was amazing. I love the fact that they always get you out on time to see whatever performance you are going to.

We were a group of four intending to follow the restaurant’s concept of sharing plates. We ordered several appetizers (deviled eggs, corn bread and truffle fries), the meatballs, the trout crudo and the chicken fries. Our waitress warned us against ordering the crudo and when we asked why, she said “because the fish is raw.” When we told her that we thought crudo was always raw and we liked that, she said that most people didn’t know that and wouldn’t like raw fish. It seemed like a strange comment from a waitress and so we ordered it anyway and it was just fine. When asked about how many thighs came with an order we were told 3. We requested 4 but were told that wasn’t possible, so we ordered two orders of thighs. The first thing to arrive was one plate of four thighs. When we asked about the second order we were told it would come later. We were surprised that the first to arrive was the last course on the menu and that two orders of the same fish wouldn’t have come together. The other items came in a seemingly random order with the fries last. Since the second plate of thighs never turned up, we were able to cancel it. The food was mediocre. Having lots of time before our play, we decided to try a dessert and ordered the opera cake. It arrived looking like a well-prepared frozen dessert. We asked our waitress about it and she said it was made in house. As we were paying our check, another waitperson said that he overheard our conversation and wanted us to know that it was not made in-house.

We were looking forward to a much better experience than the Limelight provided and were encouraged by the apparent creativity of the menu. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an amateurishly prepared and served dinner. We won’t be back.

Four of us shared small plates before the symphony. Every dish was delicious - the Brussels sprouts were the table favorite and probably the best I’ve ever had. We also all shared the crime brûlée and homemade donuts were delicious and a healthy portion so good to share. The service was friendly and fast. All-in-all, a huge improvement over Limelight! We will return!

It was very disappointing b/c I had reservations to meet someone who arrived early told the hostess that she was meeting someone with reservations and was early. When I arrived I was seated and not informed my guest was at the bar waiting. It was more than 25 minutes b4 we discovered we’d both been there waiting for each other.

Wait staff service was good but food was slow coming out of the kitchen. One main course came out after the other three diners had finished eating. One of us had the beat salad....not a terribly good taste. Ambiance was fine and obviously most convenient to the theater.

The update in decor and seating really works. It gives the place a new, refreshing and comfortable ambiance. The food is delicious and just the right size for pre-performance dining.
On top of the great food and service, the location amongst the theaters makes it so easy!

Staff friendly and cheery but not very effective (exception: the individual who delivered food from kitchen seemed on top of things)

Requested salmon medium well done, it was rare. Creme brulee appeared to be straight out of freezer storage. Ordered coffee, never received.

My sister and I had a good experience with great food and service. The pace that our food was served to our table was perfect. We had a two hour window for our concert across to the Buell Theatre. The place was once the Limelight which we had frequented before or after our Theatre performance’s. They changed their name and their menu. We’ll be back.

It was 56 degrees in the restaurant, the heat wasn’t working. We ordered an appetizer, hot soups, and main courses. The soups were brought out first, cold. While they were being heated, one entree was brought out (lamb stew). About ten minutes later, we got the soups back, very, very hot. Another 15 minutes and the other entree was brought out. About five ore minutes passed and we finally got out appetizer. This restaurant unfortunately is in a location that can not fail based in the theater traffic. And that’s too bad, because they don’t have to care what their service or food is like. We saved up for this night out to have dinner and see a show, and spent far too much for such poor service, disorganization, and to eat what we could while shivering in the cold.

Start with the Food is always wonderful there. They just did a remake of Limelight and made it Prelude + Post. Was hoping for a more dynamic change other then paint tables and chairs. The menu has not really changed since they rebranded. (Not a bad thing but some variety would be nice).

P&P is a great place to enjoy a meal with friends before you walk across the way for a play at the Theater.

Saw this new place while attending a show last week. I was meeting a friend for a show the following weekend so we decided to give it a try. Luckily I made reservations because they were full and people were being turned away when we arrived. The brunch buffet was the only option for the Sunday matinee. It was $22, which, for being right outside the theatre entrance, I didn't have a problem with. I did, however have a problem with the quality of the buffet. It was no better than a hotel buffet. The food was only meh and tepid. The eggs tasted like they were powdered and the French toast was sad looking. I also never saw the fruit that was on the menu. They ran out of bacon at one point and when they refilled it there were very few slices, as if the kitchen couldn't manage to cook enough (even though they were full, there isn't a lot of seating so there weren't that many people). The service was slow. It took a while before someone (manager?) acknowledged me and asked for my drink order ($4 for a soda?!?!??) and brought plates. I was very disappointed since the location is convenient for pre-show dining

Fire alarm went off for about 15-20 minutes. Food was not the best and the Brussel sprouts were burnt to a crisp. The wine pours were underwhelming too. For such a prime location the food needs to be better.

7 women who came for dinner. The short ribs were dry and tough, the salmon was delivered to me when the others were finished even though we all ordered at the same time with no explanation. We were excited about the new ownership but felt it wasn't an improvement over Limelight. Bartenders were awesome, I understand this is hard to staff since the 2 hours is super busy but it seemed like there were many hiccups.

The heat was not working and the food was just "meh." Greasy chicken, flavorless soup, food you'd get at a lower cost chain. Not worth the price. When asked about why it was 55 degrees I was told "we have complimentary hot beverages if you want one." So when I asked for that they told me to go get it myself...it was a shot glass amount at a self serve table. Not really the type of service I expect at a restaurant with those prices... It was only just 2 weeks after opening so I do hope they improve both their menu and their service.

We had the crispy Brussel sprouts which were mushy, and the baba ganoush which was tasteless. The salmon was very good but not too impressed overall. It's also hard to tell the size of the dishes and the wait staff was no help in describing. Décor is minimalist to the point of looking unfinished. Nothing on the walls. Will only go there because it is so convenient to the theater, especially in bad weather.

This long standing, newly named Kevin Taylor restaurant was outstanding. Food was wonderful, service great! The only issue was the freezing inside temperature. Yes, it was a very frigid night outside but the inside temp was not much better even with space heaters.

On this day we were seated at 5:15pm and it wasn't too busy yet. Other tables were busy but our section was very slow getting drinks out. when it got busier at 6pm, we waited a long time to get chack and pay. I will give it another try because it is a nice place and close to Buell Theatre.

Not at this time. We arrived at the time we had reserved and were seated right away. The waiter, who was very courteous, took our order very shortly thereafter. The wine and salad arrived in a timely fashion, but the entree did not. We waited almost an hour for it to be served and at that point had to leave to get to the theater. There was no time to eat it. We were not charged for the entree, but left hungry. My guess is it was a problem in the kitchen, but it is something that needs to be fixed.
We will eat our pre-theater dinners elsewhere.

We’ve eaten at the Limelight for years and always enjoyed good food at good prices served quickly. As Prelude and Post, they’ve revamped their menu to be served “family style.” Not only is the food quality lower, but the whole family style offering does not work here. The prices far exceed the value. For example, the chicken thighs cost $22.00, and were just six large deep fried chicken nuggets. The wedge salad was the worst I’ve had. The food took way to long to arrive, and we even had to send the final dish back because the show was about to begin. I’m sorry to say we won’t be back.

I have never had such a poor experience like this at a restaurant! I would have given 1 star if the people weren’t so nice so that’s why I elevated the rating to 2 stars. My friend and I met for dinner before a ballet performance. We arrived 15 minutes early for a 6:00 reservation. They would not seat us early despite many, many open tables. Not a terribly big deal, we sat at the bar and had drinks and read the menu while we waited for the 15 minutes to pass. We were seated at 6:00 at one of the tables that had been open when we arrived 15 minutes earlier, and were promptly greeted by our server. We ordered right away and told her we had ballet tickets and needed to be done by 7 so we could be on our way. We waited and waited for our food to come and asked our server several times about the status. She said it would only be a few minutes over and over. At 6:55 my food arrived but nothing for my friend. We complained. At 7:10 her food arrived, not as she ordered it (she’s vegan and it was covered with yogurt sauce). She never got to eat dinner. The assistant manager apologized profusely, took her meal off the bill and sent us off with drinks for the ballet. She was very nice and we appreciated the gesture but that did not change that my friend was still hungry. We left at 7:15.
The problem is the kitchen, not the servers. They cannot deliver to the table something that hasn’t been prepared!
I would highly recommend planning on at least 2 hours of dining time if you come here before a performance. Or bring back up food in case you aren’t served so you aren’t starving when you leave.
