I had a reservation and then still waited for 30 minutes. Little annoyed, but I still enjoyed it
I went here for restaurant week on a Friday and we had a pretty good experience. We arrived about 5 minutes early for our 8:30 reservation and were told it was take about 20 minutes to seat us, which it did. Once seated It took a while for the waiter/helper to get to us so we could get some water and order drinks, but after that initial contact we received good service the rest of the evening. I don't know if it was because it was a Friday, or because it was restaurant week, but it was very loud inside which made conversation difficult at first. Around 9:30 the restaurant started to empty out so it got a lot quieter. The menu is extensive so we ordered off both the restaurant week menu and the regular menu. The portions on the restaurant week menu were small so its a good thing we ordered another appetizer. Overall the food was very good. The lump crab meat appetizer had some of the largest chunks of meat I've gotten at any restaurant previously. We both ordered fish and it was very fresh and cooked very well.
We were disappointed in the service and the attentiveness of the dining room staff. Compared to the bar service which was excellent (thank you Ashley!) we had to wait in the bar for our table for over 40 minutes past the time of our reservation - and the rest of the evening was lackluster. The high points: the clam chowder was excellent as was the tempura cauliflower and mushrooms. The low points: the absence of salt, pepper and candles as we sat down at the table (none of which were replaced or explained) to the so-so entrees topped off by the VERY slow wait staff responses for water, Tabasco sauce, etc., , we felt like second class citizens. The south-side of the restaurant, where we were seated, was also very cold. We also had to wait almost 30 minutes for the standard desserts. No offer of a coffee refill.... In the end, not a great night for a high price point. We spent over $250 for 3 people. Had a manager even approached out table, we would have appreciated the opportunity to share our concern over our evening's experience. We did not see a manager --- as a result, Oceanaire was oblivious to their patrons. Denver has much better dining to offer.
Food was good. Unique flavors accompanied the sailfish plate. The asparagus was delicious.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were very appreciative of our servers' concientious timing of the meal to ensure enjoyment and completion in time for theater. But do reserve for a time 2 hours before the curtain!
Enjoyed every aspect of our evening.
Great dinner! Food was amazing.
Sat next to the kitchen. Made for awful atmosphere
What a wonderful experience. My friend and I celebrated her birthday. The food was wonderful and our server, Joe, guided us through the menu, based on our tastes. We would have bought everything on the menu but Joe kept us on course. We were provided with the most wonderful Birthday dessert and Joe got us out of there right on time for out theater time.
I had been to your place before and I will definitely come again.
Excellent choice all around but perfect for before a show as they cater to this crowd and get you out with plenty of time and valet park instead of having to use the larger and more expensive Denver Center parking. The food and service were outstanding. We had the brazino "angry fish" which was amazing and the brussel sprout salad which was a great pairing.
I made a Valentine's reservation for my wife and I just because we consider the Oceanaire a special dining event. And, as usual, we weren't disappointed. My wife specifically wanted to sample the Whites of Winter and we were extremely happy we did. No visit to your restaurant would be complete without the exceptional service we've come to expect and our server Christine provide the right amount of attentiveness to us...not to formal, not too frequent and always seeming to provide a friendly, helpful insight to the menu and wine selections. Christine's manner is very casual and comfortable so we felt assured with our selections. Christine was also highly attentive to details and proactive with providing us water, bread or anything else needed. As an example she carefully placed the tall wine glasses (part of the default table settings) to the middle of the table away from the ends as she thought they were tenuously placed. And her instincts were correct as another table nearby had an empty wine glass fall from the table when bumped. When Christine first introduced herself we both realized that she had served up during previous dinners so that made this dinner even more special. We've never been disappointed with the Oceanaire, the food, the service, the feeling of satisfaction. I've recommended the restaurant to my friends and co-workers of which many have now gone for meals and joined Landry's rewards program. I only ask you maintain the fundamentals on which all your quality is built. We'll always be loyal customers.
Delicious food, great service before attending a show at the performing arts center. Perfect!!!
Once again a very special meal on our way to the theater and both were wonderful. Even if you want a light meal, the servers and kitchen make sure that everything is exactly right. And if you are also a Landry's club member the extra rewards are just a bonus.
Always a lovely dining experience. The oysters are fresh and delicious, not to be missed!
