   I very rarely write a review, but I felt something needed to be said. We have frequented Meat Market since their opening. We have noticed of late, the restaurant has been in a decline. What was thought of as a fluke seems to be a new norm. First the managers need to teach the hostesses to great the guest and not just look down at the iPad and mumble something about “stand over there”. Yesterday’s experience didn’t bode well from the start from being seated at a table where the table had to be moved to allow my wife to sit as tables were one on top of another to the lukewarm food and general lack of seasoning. The server was very nice and we could tell she was trying to make the best of it. The table had crumbs from the bread and the server’s helper didn’t even attempt to remove the crumbs and tidy the table, he asked if we wanted to see the desert menu and then just dropped 1 menu for two people (who does that?). As an add-on to the less than stellar experience, throughout the appetizer and main courses we were swatting bugs. Finally near the end of the main course, our service asked if we wanted a bug fan which we gladly accepted only to have another server come by not even 5 minutes later and ask if we were “using” it. We told him yes that it was appreciated and that we can sit without constant swatting and he smiled and took the bug fan to another table. We were considering the desert options but now we were back to swatting the bugs. Well that sealed it and we decided to skip desert and coffee. So the restaurant lost out of about $50 of additional revenue. I blame the floor managers as they should be watching their staff and guests. Sitting at a dirty table does not bode well for a supposedly quality restaurant. Again the server was trying her best but her helper clearly was not a fan of working. I get it that Mother’s Day is busy but Tampa is no longer lacking in quality restaurants, unfortunately the management of Meat Market didn’t get the memo.

   French onion soup very meh, but artichoke and tuna tartare excelled. Rib-eye Wagyu tomahawk steak was well-seasoned, well-prepared, & delicious. Goat cheese potatoes were very rich, but also delicious. Service was very attentive. A great celebratory meal! Disappointed that my reservation for covered patio seating was not honored, and we were seated in the outdoor "garden" area instead. Fortunately cloudy, so not too oppressive. However, outdoor wicker lounge seating is too slanted back with insufficient cushioning to be comfortable for dining. Our 2 gents sat on exposed woven wicker -- not comfortable. Dress up so you can sit inside for a more comfortable experience, without bugs and flies. My son wore dressy shorts, NOT cargo shorts as expressly forbidden, and was not even allowed to sit in the bar to wait. Not all outdoor tables have umbrellas, either.

   We were there on Mother's Day and it was very busy but the food and service were outstanding. This restaurant has been one of our favorite places to go for an incredible food.

   Nice restaurant but I was disappointed with the service. We made a reservation but still had to wait 45 mins to be seated, and it took even longer for our food to arrive. The ambiance is nice and the menu has good selections.

   Had a wonderful brunch at Meat Market with my mother on Mother’s Day! Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was delicious! Acoustics were loud but it was still an enjoyable afternoon.

   Was not aware there was no shorts policy after 4. It worked out as we sat outside but that should be noted when making a reservation. The food was excellent and our server Chris made our experience amazing. He steered us in the right direction for food choices and one of the best servers we have encountered in Tampa. We will be back and will definitely ask for Chris!
