La Rambla Restaurant & Bar
Enjoyed the food, service, and overall environment
Had ordered several tapas b4 the paella ..... the beans and the lamb nachos had blue cheese (thus similar favors). The pulpo spinach salad and the dates were excellent
We really enjoy the menu here and dine here whenever we're in town. Love the variety and the sister restaurant next door GEM. Try them out! We love the tapas. Very good fast to arrive. Wine list was nice with a full bar and beer. Good service
La Rambla is a favorite! The food is always predictably great. It's a little more expensive than your normal place but when you see and taste the quality ingredients you know why. Never had one bite of bad food. The service is always good and it has the vibe of a happening place. It's a bit loud when it's packed but that's what a busy restaurant should sound like. Make reservations on the weekend.
Wonderful experience, food is marvelous.
Great food and terrific, knowledgeable server. Would be a pleasant noise level, except for the screams of the little kid.
Great atmosphere, amazing food, great service, and great recommendations of food choices from server.
Outstanding tapas menu. Gluten free options available along with a strong drink menu. Highly recommend if you are in wine country to stop by for dinner.
Great service. Server was friendly and attentive. Very, very good wine selection and reasonably priced. We hit the jackpot with the 09 Tempranillo. Tasty croquettes, well prepped calamari, and the boquerones was proper. The paella was really good too. Lots of flavor and the rice was perfectly cooked. We've been to Spain and this place takes you there with their food. Well done guys!
We were one of the first groups in and over the course of the evening watched every table fill up. I think I saw only one or 2 stools available at the bar.. noise level was moderate but bearable... acutally a sign that the joint was hopping and very popular. Food was excellent. Thank God the waiter found the last bottle of Pinot from Soter Vineyards per my request. My clients enjoyed immensely.
A 'must' if you are visiting McMinnville. Wonderful and ample tapas and of course a wonderful Oregon wine selection. Loved it.
We were in McMinnville for a weekend of wine tasting and ate at LaRambla on Saturday. Shared tapas and paella. On Saturday, the food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We had such a great experience, we went back on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday the food was outstanding, but we had a different server and the service was not great. Maybe our server was having an off day. He was quite terse, didn’t come back to check in often, and just seemed distracted and unhappy. Had the grilled octopus as one of our tapas selections and it was phenomenal. Done perfectly- so tender and flavorful. Best octopus I’ve had since a trip to the Cinque Terre in Italy, where the fresh seafood is amazing. This was just as good. And the paella was excellent both days. Worth coming back for. I do hope that server is in better form most days.
Great experience! Our waiter was terrific and very accommodating with requests. We had a great night.
Delicious paella, loved the empanadas, and the octopus was done perfectly. A wonderful meal and excellent service.
We visit La Rambla several times when visiting McMinnville. The food is always great, the service very attentive. The atmosphere is lively and festive! If you're going for a quiet atmosphere where you can have a nice conversation with your friends, this is not the place but if you're looking for an exciting vibe then you're in luck!
True Spanish food that was so delish. Service impeccable - thank you Justin. Need to go if your in the area !
Great food, amazing service, and sumptuous food. You won’t need to do much research of wine as you can ask anyone working in this place and get insights into wine in Oregon. Lovely experience through and through.
We never actually got to try the food. We arrived for a special dinner and we had made reservations in advance. We had to wait at the door crowded in a small space with 6 other people. We were all trying to squeeze in a small space between the door and an empty 2 person table that was empty. The door was open and a cold breeze was blowing through. After about 5 minutes I saw an employee and explained that we had a reservation. She told us that we would be sitting at the table right in front of the door; the table we we were trying to avoid being pushed into. I explained that this would not be OK because we didn’t want to dine with others being pushed in to us, and a cold breeze b’owing through the door. She explained that the restaurant had experienced a reservation mix up and a large party had shown up at the wrong time. In order to accommodate them, the table we had reserved was no longer available. She promised us that if we would please give the table a try, the door would stay closed, the crowd would disburse, and a curtain would shield us from any door shaft. We agreed. I was there to try the Chili Relleno that had been raved about in the restaurant reviews. I did not see it on the menu so I asked the server. She explained that they no longer served that item. Meanwhile, the door continued to open and close and the crowd was constantly replenished. I was shoved closer to the woman at the table next to me, and yet I could not hear my daughter, sitting across our own table due to the noise. After 10 minutes we had no wine or beverages, we were cold and uncomfortable, and we just wanted out. We explained to the server that this would not be working out for us on that evening. She didn’t apologize, and simply said, “OK.” Nope... won’t be back.
The flavors are spectacular--the servers do a great, no FANTASTIC, job of recommending foods to try, portions for the table and more...and, everyone is ALL in...food comes out from various workers which shows such acute attention to detail!
Birthday and a wonderful dessert from the staff!
A short trip to McMinnville. We liked La Rambla so well that we dined there 2 evenings!
Our server was attentive and made appropriate suggestions as to what was good and how many orders we would need to share among our group.
The cocktails were unique and our friends said the margaritas were some of the best they’ve ever had. The potatoes brava were creamy and spicy, perfect combination. The beet arugula salad was lightly dressed to enhance the flavors. We had a big variety of tapas all of which were perfect.
La Rambla is a great place for yummy tapas. The Paella is a must. Share a small Paella with a few other tapas.
Brilliant meal, everything was exceptional. Service was attentive and provided great advice on menu. A very memorable meal.
This is our favorite restaurant in McMinnville! We love the interesting variety of tapas (small plates) and always seem to order several different varieties of tapas offered to share with our dining companions. They also have an awesome and very extensive wine list. It is a popular place so if you are looking to have a super quiet meal, this restaurant may not be as quiet during peak dining hours as you might like, but it sure is lots of fun and the wait staff are pretty terrific, too!
OK, but nothing great.
A treasure in McMinnville, unique tapas style, great wines, cocktails and service. Barcelona without the living statues.
Food and service made for a great birthday celebration for my wife’s 40th. Thank you!
Great food and wine selection!! We like having the small plates so we can have several items to eat and share!!
Great spot for tapas in downtown McMinnville. We had a variety of dishes. The shrimp and beef were outstanding as were most of the veggie dishes. I recommend skipping the fried food (i.e. calamari) as it's run of the mill. Drinks were delicious, albeit on the spendy side. My sangria was top notch.
Our first time here, and we ordered the spicy margarita, which was not at all spicy & too sweet. We then ordered the calamari, which was a little tough & needed seasoning. We also had the shrimp & empanadas, both of which were excellent! The shrimp were cooked perfectly with garlic & had plenty of chili powder to drag them through. We ordered another of these. The empanadas were not at all greasy, and the crust was flaky and delicious. The filling was well spiced. Our server was friendly & efficient.
With so many choices in McMinnville, this is one of my two or three go to places. Good food, good service, good value.
It was my husband’s birthday dinner and we were both pleased. The ambiance, food and service were all excellent. The menu had a great variety of items to choose from. From start to finish, it was a great experience.
Food was good. Lamb nachos maybe a bit greasy but very tasty. Paella good. Excellent wine list. Nice to see some Spanish wines on the list!
This was a shot in the dark. A dead center hit. A real gold nugget. We traveled the wine route from Portland to Mcminnville and made open table reservations with very little information. The Spanish fare here was absolutely delicious. Not ostentatious, just very authentic tapas served simply. We will do it again.
Highly recommend this tapas restaurant. Every dish was amazing. Perfect to taste many different dishes while sipping local wines. We went two nights in a row!
We lover everything about La Rambla!. Always great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere and knowledgable staff! Also a terrific wine list at very reasonable prices!🤗😘
The service was okay, nothing special but we got what we needed. I liked the atmosphere and the cocktails were very good. The food however was only so so. If you are expecting authentic Spanish tapas, like me, you’ll be disappointed. The octopus was very good. Everything else was edible but not what I was expecting. The empanadas were too doughy and the lamb nachos, yeah I know should’ve avoided this, were a heavy gut bomb that I immediately regretted. Unfortunately, I would go back for drinks, but not dinner.
Very pleasant place to spend the evening- good food, good service and a nice atmosphere
The octopus was off the hook! Flavors popped and danced in your palate! Enjoyed the calamari with dipping sauce and potato bravas so authentic. Great experienced waiter to guide us. Will return on next visit.
