Price: Very Expensive•Contemporary American•4.7(2,030)Mushrooms are the heart of what we do at the Joel Palmer House. We have always endeavored to obtain seasonal and local ingredients and we use many locally produced greens, herbs, and vegetables, some of which come from our own culinary garden. We are frequently inspired by ingredients found in the cuisines of France, China, Thailand, Poland and India, so we call our cooking "freestyle." Our dishes pair well the celebrated wines of Oregon, especially Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Our extensive, Oregon-focused wine list has been awarded the Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator. Of special note, The Joel Palmer House ranks as one of Oregon's finest historic homes and is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Oregon Historic Register. Built in 1857, the house is Dayton's oldest standing structure. When weather permits, guests can enjoy their dinner on our outdoor patio, soaking in the last rays of sunshine in the heart of Oregon Wine Country.

From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail, warmth of the staff, and ambiance set the tone for what turned out to be a truly unforgettable evening. Every course of the tasting menu was a masterpiece—thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The creativity and precision in each dish reflected a deep respect for seasonal ingredients and a passion for culinary artistry. The wine pairings were equally impressive and enhanced the experience even further. The service was impeccable—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. They made us feel like honored guests without ever being intrusive. Dining at The Painted Lady wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something truly special. I can’t wait to return.More infoThe Painted LadyPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Newberg•4.8
- AAllisonBaltimore / Maryland •1 review5.0Dined on Jun 27, 2025We enjoyed the Omakase tasting menu with Kilo as our host and somm. It was incredible! Each course is inherently small, but the courses really add up and overall it was a lot more food than we expected, so we had to pace ourselves towards the end to save room for the cheese cart (so fun!) and the unique dessert experience. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.More infoThe Joel Palmer HousePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Dayton•4.7
