Opened in 2006 by 8 time James Beard Award Nominee, Chef James Campbell Caruso.
La Boca has the feel of a lively European wine bar, featuring an extensive selection of carefully chosen Mediterranean and South American wines. Knowledgeable and animated staff graciously guide customers to the perfect wine to complement their meals. La Boca also prides itself on being an ambassador of Spanish sherry culture, transporting its guests to Cadiz in the crisp cool flavors of Fino, or the deep fig-essence of a Pedro Ximenez.
Full to capacity almost every night since its opening, La Boca has been a hit with both locals and the world travelers that visit Santa Fe. La Boca has earned numerous awards both local and national, including the Santa Fe Reporter’s “Restaurant of the Year,” and the International Wine and Food Society’s “Award of Excellence.”
Good, food, Jesus music was great. I wish he did more Spanish music. But all the trendy folks request were of the nudneh variation. too bad. He was great.
Delicious food, excellent musician playing, excellent service. New area in back is much bigger, same great food.
Always a great experience, can never go wrong with the Bruschetta and the Gambas al ajillo!
Excellent tapas and very good prices at happy hour. Artichoke salad and mushroom bruschetta is the best
Delicious and great service. Not rushed... the European way! I can't stand restaurants that interrupt every other minute like they were part of your table. A little taste of Spain. Highly recommend.
The quality of the food and service are great. We love coming here. I was sorry to miss Nacha Mendez, who is a delightful addition to the dining experience.
Had a great experience as usual. The staff was awesome and the food is always amazing. Best place for tapas hands down.
La Boca is better than ever! We enjoyed several tapas that were fresh, creative, and delicious. You can’t go wrong with the house specialty, an array of dreamy cheeses accompanied by mild olives and spicy marcona almonds. Many delightful dishes await you. My husband is still talking about his dessert, the goat cheese cake, with love in his eyes. My wedding cookies were perfect, as well. Service was friendly and professional, and the food flights were well-paced. The space is pleasant and attractive, and we enjoyed our window-side table.
We had a very lovely dinner at La Boca. We eat here every time we come to Santa Fe and it is always fabulous.
There twice in one week and if time had permitted, would have gone again...food is some of the most interesting and delicious I have ever had...can't recommend it more highly...superb!
Excellent from start to finish!! Superb service, exquisite food and wine!! Highly recommended!!
It was one of the most wonderful dining experiences I have had. The food was superb, staff lovely to us and feeling of the room was gay and high spirited. Could not have had a more wonderful night
What a wonderful surprise in Santa Fe. Excellent tapas with perfect service to coordinate the small plates and wine. Each dish was distinctive and perfectly prepared.
Our waiter was incredibly helpful in navigating the menu. The food came out in what was clearly a logical, pre-planned order. The food, particularly the various sauces, was excellent. The desserts were phenomenal. The meal took quite some time, as everything came out in increments, but it's intended to be an experience, not simply something to be eaten during a quick lunch break. This was the best meal I've had in Santa Fe!
Very fun restaurant. We were celebrating my hubby’s 60th and they started us off with a little cava and “cheers” which is very traditional in Spanish restaurants. Nice touch. The tapas were interesting and yummy. The mussels and ahi special had interesting “sauces” that were very fresh-tasting and vibrant. We also loved the Manchego with a quince paste. Sweet and savory. It was a fun end to our dinner. We enjoyed a good bottle of Spanish wine, had great service from Pablo and it was a perfect end to our fantastic trip to Santa Fe.
What a great place for a Sunday lunch in Santa Fe. Beautiful weather, a leisurely lunch with friends and great food.
Amazing...on vacation and our most memorable meal!
Each dish was fabulous, thank you!
Surely outstanding. The food is excellent; small plates mostly with foods in unique combinations and interesting flavored. Excellent wine list. Service is impeccable from every perspective including timing of dishes perfectly (you don't get all at once for example). Small space so noise is high but design of ceiling and wall baffles helps.
Had a great time, great food, and our waiter, Dillon, made it an awesome experience!
Food was fantastic! Great service, the waiter was awesome! the only issue was that it was slightly expensive
Had the Paella and both types of Sangria, red and white. Absolutely fantastic Sunday morning. Not very busy but we made a reservation anyway!
I have written about La Boca several times so I won't go into detail except to say that this most recent experience was the best yet. Food, service, and wine all were excellent. This restaurant should be a must for all visitors and residents.
Food was ok and service was ok- nothing really stood out except the chocolate dessert which was superb!!
Delicious Spanish food in a fun atmosphere. The service was great!
We got their weakest waitress
We have beern going to La Boca for years. Always have a great meal.
Great tapas plates and wonderful music. It was a perfect night. Our favorites were the bacon wrapped dates, shrimp, and the charcuterie cheese plate. Yum!
Prices were very high for the portions served. Have eaten here before and it seems that they have cut back. Will not return
Great meal. Service was good as well.
Ate here during our few days visiting Santa Fe, had read mixed reviews, but mostly good things, so decided to book. Was really, really impressed. For a Thursday night, atmosphere was pretty lively, and everything tasted fantastic. Our takeaway was that they did very simple dishes incredibly well. Highly recommend whatever seasonal vegetables they have on the menu, as well as the classic gambas a la plancha (yum!). Waiter was very friendly and attentive, and wine was great. May not be the BEST tapas in the entire world, but it’s really quite good.
I have regularly visited La Boca and have always enjoyed the quality of their food and service. I look forward to the next time!
Wonderful service and food. Our waiter was exceptional.
What a find! We've been intrigued by Basque cuisine and were pleasantly surprised to find the opportunity to enjoy it in Santa Fe. We had a lovely evening with a patient and knowledgable server. We may head back to Santa Fe just for dinner!
We have been to La Boca a number of times. On this occasion, we felt rushed. Wait staff hovering, ready to snap up dishes before we finished. Food was very good as usual. Staff was polite and professional, just eager to turn over the table for next guests. Our reservation was for 6:15 and we were out by 7:30.
Family get together
Delicious food. Wonderful coffee. Incredible dessert. Excellent service. !Sabroso!
A little hard to find because there are two locations but the back location has music, on our visit an amazing flamenco guitarist. The food which you can get a either location were amazing tapas with a little twist. Something as simple as cured olives were enhanced with grapes and roasted garlic. So good you will want to over eat.
My husband and I went to LaBoca for our annual trip to Santa Fe. Dylan was our waiter and he was a wonderful! The food was fantastic as usual!
One of our favorite dining spots in Santa Fe. Don’t miss it!
Hostess set the tone - snarky and annoyed. I’d say she was having a bad day and seemed intent on sharing her mood with guests. We almost abandoned our reservation and walked away. Lucky for La Boca, the food was fine (maybe even great) but we started with such as bad taste. Highlight was a piñon tart with whipped cream. Paella was average and a cup of almonds and olives is hard to mess up. The grilled artichokes were a pleasant flavorful surprise.
Glad we went but unlikely to return unless hostess gets a wake-up-call about first impressions. Sorry La Boca!
