Opened in 2006 by 8 time James Beard Award Nominee, Chef James Campbell Caruso.
La Boca has the feel of a lively European wine bar, featuring an extensive selection of carefully chosen Spanish wines and Sherries. Chef Caruso's Modern Spanish Cuisine is inspired by the exuberance of Spanish cooking combined with fresh, local ingredients. La Boca has been  called "the most influential restaurant in Santa Fe" by the Pasatiempo Magazine and the New York Times describes the menu as "modern re-inventions of classic Spanish cuisine" Knowledgeable and animated staff graciously guide guests to the perfect wine to complement their meals. La Boca also prides itself on being an ambassador of Spanish sherry culture, transporting its guests to Jerez in the crisp cool flavors of Fino, or the deep fig-essence of a Pedro Ximenez.

Join us every Thursday and Friday night for live music on the Taberna main stage!

Tasty creative tapas on the sidewalk. Restaurant was very busy but we were seated promptly for our reservation - make one, for sure. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. We had 5 tapas for 2 people, a glass of wine each, and pot de creme for dessert. That was plenty but not too much. Grilled padron peppers with crisp garlic, sardines on excellent local bread, and shrimp in garlic were my favorites. Traffic on the sidewalk can be a little loud; there’s an interior courtyard that’s somewhat quieter.

The food experience at La Boca was terrific. We were guided to a number of favorites from our server and they were all excellent, including a wonderful Pinot Noir recommendation. I'd highly recommend the following: Manchego Frito, Roasted Coliflor, Gambas al Ajillo, and Lamb Albondigas. Add an order of Baguettes to soak up the white wine and garlic sauce from the sauteed shrimp. Delicious! Plan to spend 1.5 - 2 hours for the meal. The servers want you to enjoy the dining experience and must build this time into their reservation planning. The place was hopping and it was easy to understand why.

Food, wine and wait staff were wonderful. The noise level was out of control. You needed to shout for the person sitting next to you to hear you.
