I'm going to start with the positive, our food was good and our server Joey was GREAT! 1 star for service is because of the manager NOT awesome Joey.

I actually said to my husband "Nobu is booked. I can get us into Koi if you want to chance it but every single time we go there is a major issue and it's horrible" this is why we hadn't been in around a year or so. Well... they are consistant with their poor management. The details:

We very specifically asked to be seated at the quietest table possible, FAR AWAY from children under 12 and large parties. We also do not want to be seated near anyone using the flash on their camera, (aside from the fact that the flash takes crumby photos which is why everyone takes 400), using the flash in a dark restaurant is rude and can ruin someone else's evening. I have EXTREMELY light sensitive eyes, so using a flash in a restaurant like Koi gives me an instant migraine and completely ruins my evening. Anyway, the first thing the hostess did was attempt to usher us to a corner table right outside of the patio where there was a screaming child at 8:30p. Yes, as a reasonable person you too are wondering what a screaming child is doing 1. at Koi and 2. out past 7p on any given night. We say no to the table and then she lets us pick because it's fairly empty. We choose a quiet corner booth and are having a lovely evening until she seats a party of 4 with two screaming wild raccoon kids who are waving chopsticks around their heads directly next to us at 9:15p. SERIOUSLY? We call the manager over, express our anger and then the manager was incredibly RUDE to my husband, the PAYING customer. After much debate, we moved to a table in a closed section to finish our meal while the manager ran off to hide and never did anything to compensate us for their incompetence. He never even came back to check on us or apologize.

Needless to say, this was officially our last visit to Koi as they clearly do not want us to be their customer.

Had a really great time/ dinner at Koi. Made a reservation the day prior for my husband’s birthday and they definitely made his day special! We got there early so there still wasn’t that many people which was perfect. The food was amazing and enjoyed every single plate we ordered. The shared plates were just perfect for 2 people and just enough to satiate our palates. The salmon capriccio and the beef entree were my favorites! Will definitely recommend this place to everybody! Thanks Koi!

Koi is a staple in LA. Nick and the crew really take good care of you, whether you're Clooney or just plain 'ole you - he don't care! The sushi is A+ in LA - the scene is, well, a scene. You will love Koi, but don't tell too many people - we like our special places to stay... special. Otsukaresama deshita! चियर्स!

We love Koi. The team is wonderfully welcoming, the servers are real pros, the food is wonderful. The manager remembers us even though our visits are infrequent. Continues to be a stand out in LA dining.

In the beginning, after having made reservations, they tried to put my admittedly large party of black people in a corner near the kitchen. In an empty restaurant. However, they allowed us to relocate to a better seat. After that brief incident, the service was impeccable, staff attentive, our waiter was hilarious (I would watch Aaron on a paid comedy show or even in a movie) and the food was delicious. I would restore with a larger group for the private room, or with s smaller group to avoid the awkward booths. Great experience though.

Overpriced, pretentious, and just like a thousand other overpriced, pretentious restaurants in West Hollywood. Unoriginal in every way right down to the Buddha statue head in the front garden. The host was actually nice, and accommodating. Otherwise the staff seems terrified and stressed. What one actually gets for the money is impressively small and lacking flavor but with a nice presentation.

Great dineLA options. 4 delicious courses with a plethora of amazing options. The lamb chops are the best that I have ever had anywhere. Chilled ambiance, even when it got quite busy. And you just might catch a star or two dining at the West Hollywood location. I'll definitely be back.

Great ambiance but value could have been a lot better. Value could have been better for what I was paying. Only 2 mochi’s around $20....👎🏽🤷🏽‍♀️ My Leechi Martini 🍸 was too sour, needed more leechi, less lime...

Excellent food and unsurpassed service. If you go, ask to be seated at Zach’s table. He was easily one of the top three waiters that I’ve ever had... and I travel a lot. His recommendations were spot on and he was supper attentive without being intrusive. Zach turned a fine dinner into an experience. Seriously a fantastic experience.
