Located in the Chambers Grant Salon in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House serves pre-theater cocktails and dinner on evenings with performances in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, Buell Theater and/or Boettcher Concert Hall.

Also, for private events, Kevin Taylor Catering serves all of the unique spaces within the Opera House. These include the new, sophisticated, exposed-brick 8,000 sq. ft. Studio Loft space, as well as the Chambers-Grant Salon, an extraordinary 11,600 sq. ft. space featuring twinkling fiber optic ceilings, exposed stone walls, full stage and luxurious finishes.

We are NEVER disappointed at the Opera House restaurant! (Any Kevin Taylor). We love Martha, Ben, Cameron, Juaquin (sp?) and absolutely everyone who works there. The food was amazing as always; the service is phenomenal for us every single time we go there. Thank you all! SO Much!

With reservations. The service was very slow. Soup came promptly, but our mains took about an hour to appear. And the server did not come over frequently to reassure or comment. Dessert came soon after we finished our entrees. Trouble in the kitchen?

It was gear, as usual. I always like the foi gras (sp?) and the meal was superb. A great place to dine - especially before the opera!

The space in the lower level of Ellie Caulkins is excellent, and quite intimate given the size of the space. It allows quiet conversation, which is lacking in most venues. The service is excellent to keep things moving given that each table has the deadline of the beginning of the show, without being obtrusive. The food is a good quality, but could be a little more inventive. All in all this is an excellent option before the opera or ballet.

Dinner before the opera. I love this restaurant and wish it was open more often. Although my daughters meal originally arrived cool, she sent it back and the new meal was delivered amazingly quickly. This time all was perfect.

This visit was by no means the first by my wife and me to a Kevin Taylor restaurant and not the first to this particular one--but it proved exceptionally disappointing. The food was, as always, very good. The service, which I think a combination of the kitchen and the waiter, was well below par. We waited a very long time for our main course and as it arrived at our table the waiter turned it back and said they had brought the wrong food. Then we waited another 20 minutes or so for the right food. Which was excellent. It was getting close to curtain time so I asked the waiter for the desert I had ordered and he said he had no desert order from me. I reminded him that when I ordered he has said that my choice was his favorite, and then he remembered but had apparently not made note of it. So no desert. We will go back as it's a wonderful place, and we only hope that somehow it gets back to it's prior service level.
