Great innovative menu for affordable prices! Great vibrant energy. Love the decor!
Delicious food. Great atmosphere. It can get busy so recommend making reservations.
Try the Navajo style tacos with traditional fry bread!
This restaurant was great for food and drinks with our small group. Tacos were amazing, margs were a little overpriced.
Great food, but they ran out of their special Valentines dessert...at 7:30.
Awesome spot and great service 💕
Good service, very good food. Love the energetic vibe and walking through the Milk Market and hotel lobby. Guac and margs were very good as was the Wagyu taco.
Good food, great margaritas, good overall vibe and awesome service
Thank you for the great feedback! Looking forward to seeing back in Kachina soon! Michael GM
Food was excellent. We went for brunch on Sunday morning since we were staying at the Maven. My benedict on Navajo Fry bread was very good. The fried potatoes were crispy and hot. My husband's blue corn waffle was great. Coffee and mimosas were awesome. Most of all, the staff was very friendly and efficient. There was only one waitress, but the manager and bartender were all helping her out which was great to see. Will definitely go back.
We went for brunch and loved it.
Food cooked fresh and tasted delicious!
Recommend the prickly pear mimosas.
Try the empanadas - you won't be disappointed!!
I was a little off put when we got there and was offered open bar seating... we were a lil early for our reservation so we were ok waiting, but then she suggested a seat off to the side of the bar because it would be another “15 to 20 mins” from our reservation time to get regular seating. High top seating and not the most comfy wish we would have waited. Food was good though. Service was ok, it was Friday night and busy so that’s to be expected.
I am sorry that we did not have your table ready at the exact time of your reservation. We do suggest guests to wait in the bar until their table is ready so you can gt an appetizer or drink prior to seating. I do hope that you will return. Michael GM
Savanna was a FANTASTIC server. And the food was fantastic!
Our server was extremely rude. My friend ordered a drink and she brought her an additional beer. My friend told her that she didn’t want the extra beer and our server rolled her eyes, and said that’s what I asked you! She was so rude! Our food came out with many issues. Missing tacos and added ingredients. There was one server which meant she took forever to ask us for food and drinks or even refresh our mimosas . My friend ordered nachos that never came. I would not go here again
Great vibe, service and locale. We ordered several apps and tacos with their “najavo” bread. Awesome experience. Would highly recommend.
Thanks for the great review! Looking forward to seeing you again soon! Michael GM
We visited on Christmas Eve, and although they were closing a little early due to the holiday, the servers and staff were gracious and patient - we didn’t feel rushed at all. We each had a delicious meal of either burgers or tacos and some great guacamole appetizers. This is the 2nd year running that our family has done this, and I think it’ll be our new tradition. Thanks Kachina Cantina!
We LOVED this restaurant! The atmosphere was very unique and comfortable. I really enjoyed the tacos with the special fry bread shells and the salsa selection was amazing. Very friendly staff and good prices. Would recommend.
Ou favorite "New" Mexican restaurant. Great appetizers and drinks. The chicken enchiladas are great but definitely enough to share
We went to serve Thanksgiving dinner at a shelter so did not wan to go home and cook, so tried something new. We were all (4 very different eaters) very pleased with our food, drinks and service. The table we sat in was outside the restaurant proper (in a hotel common area) so not as social as some folks might like, but it suited us and we had a GRET waiter, so wouldn't have switched anyway. Can't wait to go back to try other entrees!
Thanks for the review and feedback Judith. I'm glad we exceeded your expectations Michael GM
The food was good except for the dessert which my wife didn't care for, but management made it right.
Thanks for the feedback Howard! Michael GM
Went on Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. Food was so delicious and staff was very friendly. Loved the salsas and fry bread tacos. We had a pitcher of margarita skinny style with light agave and it was perfect! not too sweet. The staff event recommended places near by that might be open to grab another drink. Very accommodating. Only criticism is the restroom was a bit far from the restaurant.
We have had Thanksgiving Dinner at Kachina Cantina three years in a row and have been impressed each time. The traditional dinner with some updates to the recipes are fresh and exciting. The brined turkey melted in our mouths and needed no knife to cut. The arugula and brussel sprout salad had the right amount of bite, both texturally and in the dressing. The only problem we experienced was the noise level. The hard surfaces and open kitchen made conversation challenging.
Thanks for the feedback John. Glad you keep coming back each year. See you next year or hopefully before then. Michael GM
Great food and friendly service!!
This place was just ok. We were seated promptly for our reservation, but then it took at least 7 minutes for our waiter to arrive with water. The guacamole was very very small, which was disappointing. My simple greens salad was awesome, but the chicken and mahi mahi tacos lacked flavor. The jalapeño margs were decent, but not very strong at all. I don’t write reviews often, but I probably wouldn’t go back-too many other great Mexican places in Denver!
Thanks for the feedback Katie. I am sorry we did not exceed your expectations. Michael GM
I have been to Kachina several times and have never been disappointed with their service or food.
Thanks Richard! See you soon. Michael GM
It was just ok...would go back for happy hr thats about it...margs and service was good-need better tacos if you are going to compete with the area...the quality/selection of food is better in Westminster. If i wouldnt have been staying at the Maven i wouldnt have gone.
Thanks for your feedback Heather. Sorry we did exceed your expectations. Michael GM
We started with the queso fundido which was sitting in oil. The chicken enchiladas were dry and so gross. The server literally never came to our table. We had to physically find her twice. Very disappointed overall.
This place is amazing! Not only are the margs top notch, but the food is absolutely to die for. I had the taco place with every taco on the Navajo bread, and it was soooo good. I recommend the carnitas tacos!
Thank you so much Maddie! I hope we see you back in Kachina soon. Michael GM
great table service and food, table of 6 spent 200.00 on a great dinner, great service from table staff, on the way out i asked the bartender for 2.00 in change to feed the meter because we wanted to go for a walk after our dinner, he said he did not have any change in the register then after a bit of a fuss changed one dollar to 4 quarters and gave me back my other dollar, I mentioned to him that I was not just off the street but had just finished dinner inside the the restaurant, he said yes I know that. The bartender was very rude and acted like a jerk. With all the places to eat in downtown Denver I will not rerun to Kachina, had been there several times before but the bartender really turned my off with his rude behavior.
Very good food and cool atmosphere. Wish the menu was a little more diverse.
Thanks for the 4 stars1
Kachina definitely has a lot going for it but my wife and I were underwhelmed. It's a beautiful restaurant in a great location with great staff (except for the host who seemed inconvenienced by our early arrival for a 7pm reservation). We were seated on the patio and at first glance the menu seems cool and fresh. Our waitress was fun and friendly and steered us around the menu. We started out with charred tomato salsa and chips. Caveat emptor, things here are spicy. They do warn you on the menu what is spicy but it is always subjective. Cocktails are fun and vibrant and the best was the white sangria of the 3 we had. I have never had fry bread and the waitress suggested the Wagyu carne asada taco with fry bread. So we both opted for the flight of tacos. My wife had carne asada, fish, and shrimp. For the seafood tacos she opted for corn tortillas. I had the carnitas, carne asada and shrimp. What arrived (before we finished out apps which is a major faux pas in my book) were underwhelming plates of food. I don't know if anyone in the kitchen has been to a taqueria but I have never been served a taco on a single corn tortilla. Double them up because one tortilla just doesn't cut it. My wife's Wagyu carne asada was moist and flavorful, where mine was tough. Both of us agreed that it didn't need the cotija cheese. The shrimp taco was the star of the plate with the pineapple and salsa verde. My wife's fish taco was dry and overspiced And I am trying to remember my carnitas taco but I don't remember anything about it. We finished up with the beignets which came out hot and filled with chocolate with an amazing dipping sauce. As we were settling up, the waitress suggested we walk around the Dairy Block and through the Alley and that was a great suggestion. We really wanted to love Kachina based on the reviews but unfortunately we didn't see what all the hype was about.
Thanks for the detailed review of your experience. We will use it to better ourselves. Michael GM
First visit here. I had a coupon from the Denver Dining Book, so we decided to try it out. We hadn't been to the Dairy Block before. The entire scene was vibrant and energetic. It was also Friday night so everyone was in a festive mood.
The cocktails were refreshing and the food was different from the typical Mexican fare. We started with the Chipotle Guacamole. I thought it might be a little spicy, but a little warning to those who are sensitive to heat. Stay away from this one! We loved it but it may not be for everyone.
The street tacos had a twist to them. There was the option of having them served in fry bread. My husband tried his tacos on the fry bread. So good, but pretty greasy, which was expected.
I had the Chicken Enchilada, which was stacked and presented like a Mexican lasagna, Delicious!
We will definitely come here again!
Thanks for the feedback JaxL. I am glad you found us. I do hope that you will return, Michael GM
The food was so fresh and inventive! Street corn chowder, grilled cauliflower and brussels sprouts, the freshest, lightest tasting chili relleno and a completely new but so delicious tres leches cake.
Thanks for the 5 stars!
Meh. If it was not attached to a hotel, I don't think they would survive.
Thanks for the feedback Ivana! I am so sorry that we did not exceed your expectations.
It was great but restaurant was quite warm inside (maybe because they have outside opened up letting hot air in).
Hello sorry we did not exceed your expectations. yes we have an open bar and patio so on nice days we keep that open. I do hope that will return. Michael GM
Yum. And so cute inside. Plus the outside patio is nice. Lovely atmosphere but not too loud. My cocktail was delicious, and my favorite taco was the Texan. Sooo good.
Thanks for the great feedback Mel! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Michael GM
Delicious food although I wish the fish and chicken were not fried.
Thanks for the feedback Lisa!
Didn’t love the food at all
Thanks for the feedback! ! I do hope you brought your concerns to one of my managers while you were here. We do value our guests feedback and want hem to leave satisfied. Michael GM
Pretty good food but the worst experience ive ever received at a restaurant. As a server myself I was really understanding at first but i drew the line when it got to be 30 minutes without a greeting while other tables had been sat, greeted, and orders taken. Especially being an hour away from closing, by the time we got a servers attention it was too late to order food from this place as well as other places in the city. super disappointed with no apology.
Always a hit with my office team. Friendly, fun and efficient wait staff who never make you feel like they have to flip the table to new customers. Great food and a fun atmosphere. What more can you ask for? Okay, ask for Shadia N to be your server. She was GREAT!
Thanks for the great feedback Mary and highlighting Shadia! Looking forward to serving you again! Michael GM
Have been to Westminster location many times and had great food fish taco plate was served warm with good flavor. The issue was the 3 taco plate: 1 shrimp, 1 carnita, 1 beef, no rice, beans only; delivered to table with beans and rice, they took away and brought back with no beans, rice only. Came back 3rd time was so cold, others in party had to try because it was hard to believe they brought food at this point that was inedible. Waiter offered to take item off ticket, he missed the point, I simply wanted hot tacos. Then man came by table, never identified himself and said over his shoulder that he comped the meal, never asking for our input. Once again, he missed the point. We tipped our server and left. Won’t be back to downtown location.
