Cool building and a nice old world feel to the space. I don’t think our waiter understood my vegan diet as I felt quite sick after dinner. I am quite sure my food was cross contaminated. Also it is VERY overpriced for what you get.

Our waitress Miriah L was perfect. It was our first time there so we asked her for recommendations on what to eat for appetizers all the way to dessert. She listened to what we were looking for in our meal and provided us with the perfect balance. She was very knowledgeable, entertaining and patient. We will return.

The menu was more limited than other times. We were very disappointed because we brought a gluten free guest, telling him that the gluten free options were great, especially the bread and pizza. The appetizer menu seemed more limited than our other four times there. We shared lots of appetizers the second and fourth group visits. We didn’t see some of them offered that we liked before. The drinks were good, and the service was good.

Overall, I loved it. I think they need to adjust their pricing slightly given the portion sizes and value. It's really good food but $35-$40 for a pasta dish that one (small) person can easily finish is rough.

Our table was in the basement which made for a cozier setting. The mushroom gnocchetti, elk bolognese, and pizzas were especially delicious! The sommelier helped us pick 2 incredible bottles of rosé and red. We’ll definitely be back!

The food was just ok, nothing extraordinary but not bad either. We started with the baguette and kale ceasar salad and then had the elk bolognese and Margherita pizza. The tables are very close together so it's not the most intimate.

Came for dinner around 530 on a Tuesday to celebrate my partners birthday. We were seated promptly downstairs (so dreamy, btw) and our service for the rest of the night was fantastic. We tried a few different cocktails which were all unique and delicious! We started with oysters that came with a dreamy mignonette. They were small, sweet and shucked well! We then had the bone marrow which was rich and full of flavor. The elk bolognese and amatriciana were both insanely delicious. I think I preferred the elk bolognese a little more because of the creamy richness it had, but overall everything was excellent!! We were served an olive oil cake with berries and sorbet for dessert, on the house for my honey’s birthday - which was such a nice treat. Very happy with our night and we’re already looking forward to going back.

We love this place, and it is the first time I give two stars on service. We were only 1 of 4 parties in the upper-level dining room, and we all sat together. Usually, we would not mind this, but the group beside us was very loud. Then, our server was not the best. We had to catch a show at 7 at DCPA and barely made it in time because he would take forever to come check on our table and get our orders. He also got one order wrong and then did not offer to bring us takeout boxes. None of this is going to stop us from coming back, as this has not been our typical experience.

My husband and I went here last night for our anniversary and it was such a great experience! I put in the reservation notes that we were there for our anniversary and the hostess was super sweet to say happy anniversary when we checked in and our very kind waiter not only did the same but also sent us a dessert which was honestly the best dessert I have had in Denver. And for perspective.. we go to a different restaurant every Saturday night for the past 2.5 years we have lived here . so we have had an opportunity to try MANY desserts. The elk bolognese was unreal. And we sat in the lower dining room which made it romantic and intimate. And we loved the biggie music they played! Overall great food and service. Highly recommended!!

Very underwhelming experience. Our server was annoyed to have to elaborate on anything we asked about. The volume level downstairs was too loud to hear each other in a group of 8. Main reason though that I would not recommend this restaurant is the prices. Mostly the pasta. Pastas were around $35 each. They were very mediocre at this price. I could’ve made most of the pastas at home no problem and so could you. The bill for our group of eight was $661. Most of us had a glass of wine and about half of us had dessert.

We have eaten at Jovanina's several times and each time we try to have different meals, so far every meal has been excellent and I look forward to our next time. Last night we had the fennel sausage pizza and every bite was wonderful. If you like excellently prepared Italian, Jovanina's is the place for you.
