We don't take ourselves too seriously at Jax Fish House. Two things we do take seriously? The freshness and sustainability of our seafood. You know fresh fish when you see, smell, and taste it-and thanks to modern delivery technology, we bring in that freshy-fresh seven days a week. Sustainability is a little more complicated. Not all commercial fisheries are created equal. That's why we work closely with our suppliers and science-based organizations to ensure that every single thing we serve is responsibly sourced. We consider the stocks of the species we source to prevent overfishing and we work with suppliers who harvest in ways that have minimal impacts on marine environments.

    We are located in the Opera Galleria building which has an attached parking garage with access from LaPorte b/w College and Mason, and on Mason b/w Mountain and LaPorte. Walk east from the structure thru the Galleria to access our door on College. There is also ample street parking along College ave.

    The cioppino was excellent and the Crackerjax oysters were incredibly tasty this week! Your 'seasonal white wine' was less than stellar. Wonderful aroma, but the actual flavor was flat and not impressive at all. Super disappointed in the wine.

    The pistachio-encrusted mahi mahi was delicious! Our server was friendly and helpful. The prices were high, but they are everywhere these days. It was our anniversary, so ahead of our arrival one of the team wrote “Happy Anniversary” in red crayon on our paper tablecloth, which was nice. In the past, they’d toss in a complementary dessert, but that wasn’t offered this time.

    Unfortunately it was horrible and I was in few different locations and there was no problem there. I do not recommend Fort Collins: 1. Ordered NY and Hook Tower We asked for steak medium rare we got overdone They replace it with new one which was better but still not medium rare. So we gave up on asking for medium rare Let me tell you about seafood tower : Shrimp was not cleaned 🤷‍♀️ Both snow crab and Dungeness crab over salted and when I said over salted it was so salty like you eating straight salt. Only oyster was good but what you can do wrong with oyster 😂. After good meals in Colorado Springs and Boulder I can say Fort Collins is the worse seafood choice.

    The staff at jax Fort Collins always make us feel special. They will go out of their way to make sure your experience is wonderful. And the food! I have to admit I can’t decide what I like more…the calamari? The oysters? Or the blackened catfish!

    The best seafood by far in Fort Collins! Highly recommend this place! Try the crab cake appetizer, yum! The Halibut is soo good! My favorite is the catfish and cornbread!

    I'm from Boston and know good seafood. I've had trouble finding any good seafood restaurants in Northern Colorado. Jax is my favorite seafood restaurant in NOCO and one of the only restaurants that serves raw oysters. Kudos to Jax. I'll be coming back often.

    My wife and I come here every year. Always great fresh food and a ton of fun, if you want a little bit more romantic setting try for a later time. We went to dinner at 3:30 this time and it was right next to the door, we felt hurried and was loud. Still a good dinner

    Shawnie (? spelling)our server was awesome the fried calamari and the seafood salad was delicious and the raw oysters never disappoint. I had the key lime dessert and my husband had the blueberry buckle the portion was just enough to end the meal.

    Note about the noise level: was disturbing so e we moved outside, perfect! Lovely evening dining outside. The fried calamari is outstanding! We compare it to our favorite in Sarasota Fl….. stacks up against anything there. Drinks delicious, food made to perfection! It’s pricey but its is a wonderful gastronomic experience for fresh fish in NoCo .

    Everything was great today! I like the new happy hour menu- but thank you for keeping the great fish sandwich! Love that the fries are put into the metal cup. The bottom ones were as hot as the top ones!

    Good solid seafood. No big surprises. Got seated at a small table despite a reservation and the place 3/4 empty. Not the biggest deal in the world. We're learning to sit at the bar.

    Nice waiter, but the timing of the food was all off. One steak came out on the cold side, the sides ( lobster Mac) came out well after the entrees. In fact and the end of our meal, in spite of multiple promises of only 2 more minutes. The tuna was not impressive. One dinner liked their catfish. We were all a little disappointed

    Halibut was very good though ran out early @ 6:00 so the other two people in our party of three were not able to enjoy. Desserts were delayed so manager comped without being asked. Our waitress Paige, was very pleasant, attentive and helpful.

    Enjoyed the experience but $31 for a lobster sandwich and fries is getting out of control. The scallops were very good, as was the salad, but the whole experience including drinks and desert (1) for two people came to $149; just too much. Won't be back.

    If your are playing very loud music, at least play good music. It was irritating enough to keep me from returning; it spoiled the experience. The crab cake was good. I trust other food is good as well. We could not carry a conversation.

    Selection of items was limited but food was good, especially the oysters. The main issue was that we had a 6 pm reservation and were not seated until 6:30 pm. The person at the check-in desk had told me that she would be calling her manager to come up with a solution for our delayed seating. The manager came up and told us that “no one is getting up right now”. We had young kids with us so asked her to try and make something work. There was a table in the back that had paid their bill and had leftover containers. The manager asked them to leave and gave one of them a hug, so clearly these are people she knows. I understand that it’s nice to have your friends, but making a person with a reservation wait and let your family or friends occupy a table is not professional. I think she realized that we had noticed, and gave us some free starters, but I left with a bad feeling about the team.

    I took 8 family members out and they all loved it. The food was wonderful. The service was great and the ambiance for a group of 8 with 2 small children was great.     Service was exceptional! From the time we arrived, we had requested a booth and were pleased to say Jax accommodated us,as they have in the past. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Fort Collins. Our waiter, Jason, was very knowledgeable and did everything to make our dinner pleasurable. He was polite and courteous and very attentive. The noise level was a bit too overbearing, but other than that, we will definitely return for our "date nights" and as always, we recommend Jax to our friends and families.

    Great service and fantastic food. A good selection of starters, soups and entrees. Tasty cocktails and a nice wine list too. Don't miss the wonderful seafood chowder! Highly recommend Jax in Fort Collins.

    Another great meal at Jax, our favorite seafood restaurant in Northern Colorado. Food was terrific, our waiter was great and recommended several menu specialties. Never disappointed.

    We probably had the best meal we have had at Jax this time. Part of it is that we have learned what things don't suit our palettes and what to avoid: the gumbo uses a very dark roux that is not to our liking the the cold shrimp uses a BBQ spice that we don't like either. This time my wife ordered the scallops which she liked a lot, and I ordered the salmon. The salmon was very well prepared with a crispy skin sitting on a salad of chopped asparagus spears and pea pods, dressed with a creamy dill dressing. It also came with three onion tots that were amazing. We also had the happy hour oysters. They have switched to a new kind; I don't remember their name, but they were very flavorful.
