We don't take ourselves too seriously at Jax Fish House. Two things we do take seriously? The freshness and sustainability of our seafood. You know fresh fish when you see, smell, and taste it-and thanks to modern delivery technology, we bring in that freshy-fresh seven days a week. Sustainability is a little more complicated. Not all commercial fisheries are created equal. That's why we work closely with our suppliers and science-based organizations to ensure that every single thing we serve is responsibly sourced. We consider the stocks of the species we source to prevent overfishing and we work with suppliers who harvest in ways that have minimal impacts on marine environments.

The Max Transit System comes right to Old Town! Jax is between two stops you can either hop off at the Mountain stop on The Max or at the LaPorte stop. Walk one block south to College Ave. and we are half way up the block on the West side of College Ave.

If you want oysters, this is the place to go! They are so fresh, you’d think you’re in New England. Tried the Thai curry mussels for the first time and they were a surprise, I’d order them again. The entree’s are less impressive. In fact, we ordered all apps this time around.

Jax is exceptional, we made our reservations online thru open table. When we arrived we were taken to our table, then greeted by our fabulous waitress! She knew the menu like the back of her hand! She gave us her recommendations, the oysters top notch, we will definitely be back!

Kind of let down with our latest visit to Jax. Usually it’s one of our “go-to’s” for a date night. But the food was not very good, they changed the recipes of multiple items, the service wasn’t ver good either. Gonna steer clear from there for a while.

Wow, the staff food and beverages are amazing. My expectations are fairly high when going to places of this caliber and cost to value. I’m kind of a Karen of sorts, LOL. Anyway everything is amazing at this place our waitress was incredibly helpful. Our food was spot on and amazingly delicious and an experience. Not just food but that experience that you tell your friends about.

The food is consistently delicious. We had the chowder, shrimp pasta and cornbread and everything was interesting and flavorful. It would be nice if Happy Hour lasted until 6.

Yay oyster month! The Oysters Rockefeller were very tasty and the ahi tuna app was good. The opening shucker (forgot his name) was so nice and personable! A very good match for the bar! And, he is shucking great!

70th birthday celebration. Food was great, service too until the end. When we declined the dessert menu the waitperson brought out a lot candle on an empty plate. Have never seen anything so cheap on a bill well over $300. It felt kind of insulting.

Amazing food as always! The tuna was cooked perfectly and was the perfect portion size! You can never go wrong with Jax. The service is always good and the fresh oysters are plentiful. We will be back soon!

We had a great time as usual. The food was wonderful as usual and our hostess was fantastic. Her name was Regan and ironically enough we share a Birthday which was yesterday. I don't know how old she was but I turned 75 and Jax is one of our go to places for special occasions. They never fail us. The oysters are fantastic, the food as always was great, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone who wants great fresh fish and seafood.

Parking is FREE! We are located in the Opera Galleria building which has an attached parking garage with access from LaPorte b/w College and Mason, and on Mason b/w Mountain and LaPorte. The first hour in the garage is free and we are HAPPY to validate your parking! Walk east from the structure thru the Galleria to access our door on College.

The Max Transit System comes right to Old Town! Jax is between two stops you can either hop off at the Mountain stop on The Max or at the LaPorte stop. Walk one block south to College Ave. and we are half way up the block on the West side of College Ave.
