I was very excited to try Jack's for the first time, but unfortunately our experience was not great. The first impression was our server brought the incorrect drinks to our table. Then every time we needed our server we had to flag him down when he was not standing in the kitchen or chatting with other tables. Our food came but we had to get up and ask our server for plates and silverware, who then just handed us a stack and said here you go.
Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere is great. I would just recommend only sitting at the bar.
Surprisingly good food for this neighborhood bar/ restaurant.
We started with the chorizo queso, served in a mini skillet with corn tortillas. This hit the spot for our post beer-bust hunger. There was actually quite a bit, so we asked to have more tortilla chips to finish it off.
There are a good variety of small plates and lunch options, but only three entrees. Ribs, salmon, for a whole chicken. We decided to order from the lunch offerings. I ordered the prime rib french dip. Amusingly, the waitress asked if I wanted it "rare or well-done". Nothing in between. I asked for rare, but it came out well-done. The bun was almost too large for a person to eat the sandwich without cutting it in half, which defeats the purpose of dipping the sandwich au jus. However, the traditional french fries were thin and crisp--very good!
It seemed funny to me how proud they were of their Fried Chicken Sandwich on the website. They challenge the customer to try it and see if they think it is better than Chick-fil-A or Popeye's. You would think for $12 and one of their few food choices that the answer should obviously be "yes". Steve tried this for his meal. He said it was very good, but seemed to be fried a little too long.
We didn't partake in any adult beverages that evening. However it seems their specialty cocktail is a cotton candy martini. There is a video on their website showing a sweet cranberry and vanilla vodka martini being poured over purple cotton candy in a martini glass. I'm not sure what this would pair well eith from their menu.
Our overall conclusion was that our experience was a little too "beige" for a return visit.
Great food at reasonable prices! I had Salmon and my friend had chicken. I would highly recommend!
Menu was rather small with only 3 entrees. Although there were sandwiches and salads one would think a place calling itself a grille would have a decent choice of grilled food.
This place is always great. We've gone 3 or 4 times now for brunch. The patio is perfect. The Disco brunch is a little more upbeat and "happening"but regular brunch is just as good. Our go-to brunch place. The food is good, service is always great and the fact you can make reservations for brunch is a major plus.
Awesome food and service.
Jacks is our favorite “go-to”! Perfect for happy hour/ dinner on a Friday night. Service is very friendly and the menu has great happy hour appetizers, delicious salad options for me as well as “hearty” options for my husband. The covered patio is great for all seasons. I also went for Sunday brunch for the first time recently. They offer bottomless mimosas & the brunch menu had a great variety to choose from. They had a DJ & it was 90s theme, which made for a fun, energetic vibe. But if you are looking for a quiet brunch where you can easily talk to the people you are with this is probably not the time/place. Not sure what Saturday brunch is like. Overall, I would definitely recommend!
Everything was great!
We love Jack’s, for the food, ambience and location! The Power Greens Bowl is my favorite, and their fries have the perfect crunch/flavor!
We decided to try Jack’s for our anniversary celebration! It was a wonderful choice. The food and service were outstanding!
We wanted to try out a new place when my parents came to town to visit and Jack’s was the perfect spot! The food was fabulous. My mom even said it was the best salmon she’s had, which is saying a lot in a landlocked state! The service was impeccable and we will definitely be back!
Went for Mother’s Day brunch. Disappointing. Food was bland and was supposed to have pork green chile on it but only came with a small container of sweet tomatillo sauce. Toast wasn’t served with anything on it. None of the drinks for the bottomless brunch were good (watery) which is hard to mess up! Patio was nice though.
Small, cozy place with great food and service. The patio is perfect on nice days
We live this place! Shhh, don’t tell anyone, we don’t want to lose our fav spot. 🤫
We had a wonderful meal at Jack's. It was not busy and the food was delicious.
Great locals spot!!
Amazing menu for restaurant week and our server Brittney was fantastic. We were thoroughly impressed by everything.
It was the last day of restaurant week and only a pre-fixed menu was offered with a range of great items on it.. I checked out the menus ahead of time and what I came for was the Mac & cheese & some apps but neither options were offered on the prefixed menu which was a bummer. I asked the waiter if chef was offering anything from the regular menu and he wasn’t, so we went with casual options — a burger and chicken sandwich. Both were pretty good and the best thing was the sides of fries. Seems like a good spot for a simple meal, cocktails and fun desserts.
The food was generally good though a little heavy on onions. Food, especially the last course could have been warmer. Service was excellent. There was a group in the restaurant standing and talking which was somewhat loud.
Our appetizers, artichoke dip and empanada, were excellent, as was the butternut squash soup. My wife's salad was disappointing, a bit of lettuce and some garnishment with minimal dressing. Both of our entrees, the pork chop and flank steak, were overcooked and tough. The pork chop was thin and not much to it, perhaps my expectations were too high, I expected a nice fat juicy chop. Didn't get it.
Dessert was good, the triple chocolate brownie, very rich and tasty.
I would mainly recommend for the appetizers and soup. Might try again, ordering apps and a sandwich. From our experience, the main course entrees were not worth the price we paid.
Birthday dinner celebration.
Chicken dish was extremely salty, patio sucks. Have been seated inside only once because it's usually just two of us.
Great food!! Service was outstanding!
The food was cold and not particularly good, just ok.
Had the fish and chips. Good fish with outstanding fries. Not steak fries but skinny, McDonalds-style with a delicious salty and spicy finish.
Wonderful food and fun drinks!
Poor service. Waiters and general staffed seemed put out anytime you had a question or asked for anything. Did not even get our food for over an hour after ordering. The food was very good and I liked the atmosphere but, service was very disappointing.
Found this restaurant driving by after an adult family outing. It was so good I returned with a friend the next weekend.
Cardiac hamburger will be repeated! Sweet potatoe fries are the best!
Jack's Uptown Grill had a great variety to choose from for lunch. The food was delicious and the price was great.
Great neighborhood find. Food is excellent. Super menu. Staff very friendly and attentive
Love the At
Great all American food. The price is right and the service is great.
Food was typical bar fare of reasonable quality.
Service was good but patio seating was much too loud for normal conversation. The music was way too loud, I would not return.
Great food and drink options. Cute spot. Was easy to get a table and server was very friendly.
Food here is simply very tasty. And the outdoor patio was very relaxing.
I put together a happy hour get together for three of us at Jack's and although we planned to dine on the patio we were pulled toward the bar seating. The whole space was opened up and there was a sense of the outdoors, even at the bar, which was chic and well lighted. The small bites and cocktails were delicious and the service friendly and fun.
I would recommend it for lots of things👌 Good atmosphere and good service and food 😃
