The name Hapa is derived from the Hawaiian term that describes a harmonious blend of Asian and American cultures. Like our name, our food reflects this dynamic combination. The menu is based on traditional Japanese cooking fundamentals which are then amplified, muted, or mixed with influences from many different styles of cooking until they are something completely new: they’re Hapa.     Our wait staff - Tom, was outstanding and catered to the children in the group. We were seated in a private area which was much more relaxing with two busy toddlers. The food was as good as ever and we will continue to frequent Hapa for family meet ups.

    Excellent sushi for ~$20 per interesting roll, excellent miso soup and seaweed salad, drinks tasted watery and weak, especially considering the $15 price. The 8 top next to us was super loud, but once they left, it was much more pleasant for my girlfriend and me.

    Service at first was good. The other person I was dining with showed up and the waitress was nowhere to be seen so I believe it was the manager I tracked down who took the remainder of our drink and food order. Even by the time we got the food, we did not see the waitress at all. When we did, we asked for the check and it happened to be the wrong check. It took another 20 minutes to get sorted out. Food is great and the manager who helped us was great however, the table service was underwhelming.

    First time in Denver CO, Fantastic food Bao Wagu buns were amazing as were the Pork Ginger Gyoza. Our server Jessica was great very nice and tentative. If you’re visiting Denver 10/10 you should check this place out. Slightly pricey but understandably so. cool layout for a little tucked away restaurant. We would eat here again however we would make different choices for the Sushi Rolls.

    The sushi here is phenomenal. Ordered a mix between Nigiri and Maki rolls. One of the rolls contained fried shrimp which wasn't very good due to old grease. The service was spot on. For a sushi bar in Denver this place was no frills but just what I was looking for. The chefs behind the sushi bar were extremely nice and attentive. Thanks for a great service!

    Great Sushi resturant in Denver. We really enjoyed the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant. Our server was great and was very attentive. The sushi was delicious and drinks were unique - definitely recommend!

    The food and service at Hapa Lodo is consistently good. Aside from the sushi and sashimi they also make a great fuji apple salad and Katsu Curry Chicken over rice; Appetizers are always on point too. I don't drink a lot of saki but I do enjoy sharing a bottle of saki at Hapa with a friend every now and then.

    We were having a mom’s night out with a group of 4 women and our server was rude. We mentioned at the beginning that there was a shellfish allergy. One of the dishes ordered was cucumber salad but it also had shrimp on it. We mentioned that when it was ordered we thought it was just the cucumber salad with nothing else. They would not take it back or remake it and wanted us to pay for something not edible

    The food & service were very good. The table was too small for what we had ordered & things were falling off the table. We had to put our menus on the table next to us because no one picked them up.

    Food and service were amazing. Unfortunately we had a table upstairs near the kitchen which made it loud in an unpleasant way. Would definitely go back and ask for a better table.

    The service here was great. Waitress was attentive and made good recommendations. Drinks were brought out on time, appetizers, entries all done very well. Rolls were excellent. Roll sizes were just a bit large to eat the entire roll in one bite. Would recommend reducing roll size and adding two more rolls. Overall a great experience.

    The service was extraordinary, with the waitperson and the chef working to accommodate food allergies and sensitivities my friend and I have. The food was delicious! We were lucky to sit upstairs in a quiet atmosphere--which works for me as I am hearing disabled. It was a lovely experience! I can't wait to try Happy Hour!

    Hostess was especially terrible. Would not accommodate seats that were next to stairs and squeezed behind another customer. Server mixed up our bill with neighboring customer 4 TIMES when running our cards!! Sat and waited 30 minutes to even get drinks. This was during a concert night at Ball Arena. The restaurant did not appear to be very prepared for busy nights with concert goers. Food and drinks were great. Service left much do be desired. Waiter and hostess did a major disservice to the people making the food and drinks. I haven't frequented a Hapa for over 10 years in favor of the smaller joints. I will not return here again.

    The service, ambience and management were great. The only thing that fell short was the quality of the food. It was not very good sushi, it was very bland and flavorless. I tried 5 different rolls, and only 2 out of 5 were worth the money. I personally will not go back and find a better place. Lots of reviews say they love this place, I just had a totally different experience. This place didn’t even come close to the quality I enjoy.

    My husband and I love going to Hapa whenever we have a date night downtown. The food never disappoints, it is consistent and tastes good everytime. We love the laid back atmosphere, but still feels like a fun date night location. The ambience is just what we were looking for. Our server, I wish I remembered his name, because he was wonderful. We have never had a bad experience! Two thumbs up!
