It’s was the best birthday dinner for my husband!
Great food, and great service. I would highly recommended going.
I come here regularly and love it. Today my server was trashed and spilt water all over the grill and our table. The server cleaned the floor and THEN proceeded to wipe the table with the same rag she wiped the floor with.... meanwhile she then comes back and sets the tongs and utensils on the table where she wiped with the dirty floor rag. She was completely trashed. Her name is HEATHER. I proceeded to tell the hostess and she laughed it off. We left after getting appetizers. This was a Monday night and heather was completely trashed and incapable of being a server.
Had a wonderful time eating ramen and gyoza and just chatting to get away from the everyday cooking. Reminded me of my time in Japan.
This was my first visit to Gyu-Kaku and I am already planning my next dinner here! Fun bbq experience, we ordered the Kansha "Appreciation" course for two and the food was phenomenal, awesome portions. Great place to catch up with friends or a date night spot!
Our experience at Gyu-Kaku was overall very nice. The food was delicious but we were disappointed about the limited menu. Some things were not offered. Our waitress seemed to be on drugs and appeared visibly high which was concerning because she was handling raw food and a very hot grill.
Great time as always
Gyu-Kaku is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. They provide high quality meat and customer service. Once I heard that they re-opened I immediately made a reservation. I felt safe and was happier than ever to be dining again at Gyu-Kaku.
Great experience. There were 4 of us and we ordered the meal for 4 and it was probably enough food for 6 or 8 people! Delicious we will definitely be going again.
Fun, reasonable alternative close to Union Station
Went to dinner for our wedding anniversary, the food was delicious with plenty of different choices. The pork dumplings are awesome. We tried the duck, garlic shrimp, short rib and steak, all above expectations. Will be returning very soon for our daughter's birthday.
Very nice waiters! Delicious food all the way around.
Had an awesome birthday dinner! Clean, fresh, and great service!
Great food at reasonable prices (happy hour), great service (Ben), great menu selections ( meats, noodles, veggies, etc.); make for a pleasant dining experience.
Great experience! Love the food
We love Gyu-Kaku and go often for either dinner or lunch. I thought it'd be a fun Valentine's Day dinner for the family, myself, my husband, and our 6 year old son. Our 6 year old son LOVES cooking and being the chef for dinner!
Unfortunately, our Valentine's Dinner did not live up to the usual quality we have come to expect. We had to ask for plates and utensils (after the salad was served), wait a very long time for a grill grate, and remind the waiter of putting oil on the grate. Our son's kid's meal didn't come until my husband and I were halfway done with our meal. The table had not been cleaned and the person who sat us removed trash from near the wall before we sat down while mumbling she thought it had been set up already.
I know that things were out of the waiter's control and I don't fault any one person, but I thought I should share here in hopes the owner or someone can take note for the future - it wasn't the first time y'all had been that busy and we've never had an issue before. It's just more of a bummer when it's a special dinner to celebrate with the family and it's more stressful than anything.
Excellent date night spot with a quiet ambiance, the service was prompt, friendly, and the food was delicious! Expect to spend about an hour and half here, so enjoy the experience!
It was my first time to a Gyu-Kaku in the US and it did not disappoint! The happy hour specials are awesome and I would highly recommend going a bit early to take advantage. The course meals are great and the same quality you get in Japan and the beef tongue is delicious.
This place was fantastic! From the food to the service to the overall experience, I would 10/10 recommend to anyone.
Good as always.
Though the food could come faster.
Absolutely delicious tasting menu and high quality decor
Best place to eat in Denver.
This has quickly become one of my wife’s favorite places to eat in Denver. The food and service is excellent. I would definitely recommend this place for small groups.
Very unique experience. Love it and would go back frequently.
Gyu-Kaku was a fun place to go for dinner and the prices were very reasonable. I was surprised that since they take reservations, they really have more of a fast-casual feel, but the food and service were great. The atmosphere definitely made you feel like you were at a chain restaurant (which it is). But for the experiential type of meal, I wished the atmosphere had been just a little bit more elevated.
Been here a number of times for lunch. Extensive menu for sure. Food is always good but can be extremely slow on occasion. My last visit on 1/3/19 was excellent. Our server(Alecia, I think) knows that menu all ways up and down. Totally impressed! Hoping to do dinner sometime soon. Lunch is great. Try everything! Seriously (maybe not on the same day).
Fast and friendly service! This is my second experience with this restaurant, my first being in the Atlanta location. Will be back for sure.
I loved grilling at your own table! You are your own chef.
Overall good selection on the menu, food was tasty, though service was a bit slow and inattentive, I suspect they were running short staffed due the holiday so I wouldn't ding them too heavily on this unless I went back and had a similar experience.
The menu had depth and variety. Our waitperson was attentive without being smothering. The entire "grill you own" experience is different and it is nice to have total control of the cooking process. It will take several visits to truly sample the menu and develop favorites.
Disappointed given the other reviews. WS not overly impressed with food, portions or service.
It was great. Food was delicious and host and server were kind
Made reservations for 11am. Got there early and they let us come in out of the cold. Service was excellent and they brought the food out timely which was great. But the best part was, it all tasted delicious! We ordered the 2 person and 3 person Kampai specials and an assortment of other side dishes. We were stuffed, but took home the leftover cooked food and ate that for dinner. Outstanding value and quality products! I highly recommend this restaurant for delicious tasting food.
Food was great as always. Service was a bit slow due to what seemed like a slight kitchen back up. The place was packed so it was understandable. Overall good experience. Manager came to ask how everything was and was very genuine. Will be back soon.
Great place; get the set. It gives yo a variety of enjoyable dishes.
We love this place and Yuka is an excellent server!
The best part about Gyu Kaku is the all you can eat. Unfortunately this location doesnt offer that.
We ordered meat lover combo, the seasoning of food is great. The service is attentive, the only one thing that bothers me is that we had a reservation and when we entered, only one table was occupied, yet we were assigned to a table right next to the doorway. The cold wind blow in every time a person comes in from outside. This just disturbed the entire great experience.
