We host a celebration of contemporary Argentine cuisine and the tradition, values, and culture of the Gaucho lifestyle. We take pride in providing our guests with an authentic experience in a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for social and business lunches, entertaining dinners, and fun celebrations.

Established in 2016.

Gaucho Grill USA began its operation in Hollywood, CA in the early 1990's. The earliest restaurants practiced traditional Argentine cuisine and have been quite successful as a result. The newest location in Downey, CA unveils a new, contemporary approach to fine Argentine steaks, cuisine, and libations. Gaucho Grill Argentine Steakhouse in Downey has a fully-operating bar and nightlife which perfectly complements the already fervent environment within its walls.

Good food but both our meats were overcooked a bit. It was Father's Day. We really wanted a new ribeye steak but thought it'd take too long to make a new one. Both meats , the other was shirt ribs were good in spite of it being cooked over whether wanted. Side dishes were all good but portions not that generous. For the price , almost $300 for 4, we hoped for better. Service and ambiance was good.

Unfortunately it didn’t go as well as we hoped for. It was hot in the restaurant, all of us were uncomfortable and sweating, we asked numerous times about the AC. We were told it was on. Felt warm throughout with a few sections being cooler. We were seated close to the sunroom which seemed to be brining in a lot of that heat. Food was not very good the feast 2 of us got most of the meat was dry and over cooked. Mine and my husband’s food was just Luke warm. The empanadas were great but again just warm! The only thing that was served hot was the sides and the one pasta dish my daughter ordered. We had a very hard time getting refills had to keep asking. Numerous times we had to ask multiple times, same for the ice we asked for because the water on the table did not stay cold. Very disappointing since the 20% tip was added into automatically… I would not have tipped that percentage for sure. We have visited the Downey location multiple times and never had any issues there, it’s a shame this was not the same. Not sure I’d return since nobody bothered to come speak to us about the cold food and the air conditioning situation. On top of all our bill was over $400! Definitely not worth it. Bread and chimichurri sauce was the best. Side note I asked for chimichirri with my skirt steak never got it!

Our overall dining experience was lovely! The food came out hot and delicious. The chimichurri sauces were a delight! Gaston and the service team were professional, attentive, and friendly.

I've been here before, (downey) and I felt like the food was a little bit more flavorful then. I'm not sure what happened this time , but it definitely salt. The steak and everything else tasted like it was just cooked and thats it. I really appreciate the accommodations for my vegetarian daughter in law. The server was nice, and I enjoyed the ambiance.

Fun place to celebrate a birthday, friendly service. The hostess forgot it was a birthday celebration but all good the server took care it when I mentioned to her. Will comeback!

We were excited to eat there because of the reviews and the pictures we saw on the Internet. You were able to accommodate us showing up a bit early, but unfortunately, you were a little too busy to give us the service we expected. We sat down and looked at the menu and ordered appetizers which took over 20 minutes to arrive. We also weren’t told that some items on the menu were not available and we didn’t find out until we ordered the main meal. This was a problem because we had to rethink what we wanted and changed our overall attitude. One of the appetizers came out 10 minutes after the first appetizer with not enough bread and it took for me to ask two different servers to bring me bread. This intern made the appetizer cold by the time we got our bread. once we receive our main meal, it was cold, and we had to ask our server to reheat the food. The problem with reheating meat is that it tends to dry it out and overcook it, although we did receive an apology from the server for the food being late and cold, I believe there could’ve been more done from management. We spent almost $300 for a family of four which I am more than willing to do if the experience is great. This was not

We were seated promptly by Lulu who was not only very friendly and beautiful but also was very accommodating. Brenda, our server approached us right away to give us our menu’s and ask what drinks we would like and despite their being a lot of customers because of Mother’s Day, she patiently explained and gave us suggestions on what was good. We placed our orders but it arrived a good 80 minutes later. We had a heavy breakfast so waiting thay long was enough to make us hungry enough to appreciate the food. Our family was impressed by the food presentation when it arrived and there was enough for everyone. We had short ribs empanada for appetizers then the Tomahawk and their ultimate meat platter and a plate of a chicken entree. Food was tasty snd we had enough to go around and eventually take home the leftovers. Great food and great service!

Food was good but not great but it was cooked perfectly. Service was lacking or I should say on the overwhelmed side. Our waitress was nice and friendly but not sure if she was new or just overwhelmed. Upon taking g our orders she did t even ask how I wanted the steak done and I had to tell her. Then we never got one of our dish but was charged. Took a while to get our drinks and when we asked for refills it never came and had to tell a second waitress who may have been a supervisor and it still took forever. I also overheard the table next to us get upset at the wait that they never got their drinks. We’ve been here several times and love the food but noticed that the service part and long wait for your food or service is general is always on the meh side of things. We tried to be very patient specifying a holiday but I feel like they need more help or staff.
