   Great restaurant. Came here to celebrate a graduation. Old-school steakhouse ambience. Live piano bar which was great. Service was fantastic with attentive server. Who made excellent suggestions. Excellent bottle of wine to go with our steaks. Serving sizes are large. Greek salad great. The rack of lamb can’t be beat. The filet mignon was tender and could be cut with a butter knife. The Wagyu steak was also fantastic.

   The Famous provides great steak with a level of consistency unmatched by other restaurants in the Colorado Springs area. We went there for an anniversary and they did not disappoint.

   We have been dining here since they first opened. Ownership has changes a few times over the years and has stayed true to it’s origins. This weeks’ visit was a bit different in that my favorite Surf and Turf is no longer available. I like the steak and lobster Oscar style but no more. The Pomegranate Bling is my go to cocktail but it now tastes sour rather than the old sweet deliciousness (I had two that were the same). Creme Brûlée didn’t have the usual berries on top. Lastly, the wines by the glass are outrageously priced and there don’t seem to be any reasonably priced “house” wines by the glass. The service is spectacular! The dining just isn’t what it used to be. The food is still delicious but the shrimp cocktail and lobster are now over sprinkled with something red and too salty for my taste. We’ll be back but it’s no longer our top choice when dining for steak and lobster.

    It was our 50th anniversary and we were treated to a complimentary dessert with candles. Our server was wonderful. We don’t care for the live music but luckily we were far away from it. Everything was delicious.

    I have been trying Ribeyes at all the steakhouses in CS and the one that was served to me was the best one I have had yet. The salad was very good and the creamed spinach was tasty. Don't normally eat spinach but I had a feeling this would be worth it.

    Absolute perfect place for my wife’s birthday. Portions may honestly be a bit too big but if you’re a champ you can get it down and dessert. The cocktails were very well done as well.

    Great place. My only beef is the piano is too loud. Not because the music is necessarily loud but that the acoustics in the restaurant are terrible for live music. They need to install sound baffles on all of the columns. I found myself really irritated at the piano while trying to converse with my date because I kept having this bad reverberation or harmonic issue with where I was sitting. Not good. It really detracted from the meal. Jeff was a great waiter. FIX IT. Low hanging fruit.

    Just terrible!. Everything about the meal was terrible. Hop on over to Yelp to see my extensive review! We never plan to return. There’s just too many other great steakhouses in Colorado Springs to go to instead or a short drive to Denver for true quality food at those prices, and with excellent service. On top of that, my boyfriend had an upset stomach and spent a couple hours in the bathroom.

    My husband and I had a wonderful evening at The Famous. We were celebrating his birthday and it was perfect. The space is open, comfortable and a bit of a step back in time. Our waiter, Brian, was awesome - a professional. His timing, knowledge and anticipation of our needs was spot on. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented, and our celebratory dessert was also a treat. We would definitely recommend The Famous.

    Absolutely outstanding dining experience. Warm attentive service for the entire meal by “Taylor” in the bar area. Great live music and cool vibe. Started with a wedge salad and then the ribeye, cooked and ordered rare with green bean and bacon. Had a few old fashions along the way and finished off with cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. Enjoyed every bite…wonderful 😊

    Steak and lobster were both delicious. Shrimp cocktail was good but had a little too much red stuff sprinkled on for our taste. Creme Brûlée was smooth, creamy, and a good amount of crispy topping. Service was great!

    Staff is so friendly and knowledgeable! We got wines and had 2 NY strip steaks with asparagus and mushrooms. Delicious !! beverage manager Sean came checked up on us and he’s super great! Also they offered us a free dessert which was so goood! We love this place and we will come back

    This was probably the best steakhouse I've ever eaten at! The steak quality and flavor was outstanding. The sides are very large portions, even though they are a la carte. The service was also exceptional! 10/10 recommend!

    The food was great but the experience as a whole was not worth it. I don’t understand what the point in asking us what we are celebrating when taking the reservation if we didn’t get the slightest acknowledgment of it at dinner. I took my husband out for his 45th birthday celebration, it would had been nice if the waiter had simply said happy birthday, but he did not. We made a reservation days in advance, & we were sat at a tiny table next to a big family with kids which really messed with the vibe/mood for us. There were plenty of other tables when we got there, and still so when we were leaving so I don’t believe it had anything to do with other reservations. The waiter took a long time to come back with drinks, though we watched him stand by the bar and chat with other staff for 5+ minutes at a time. We made the best of the situation, but after spending over $300 for just us two, it was not worth it.

    The food, service and ambience of the Famous Steakhouse were all excellent. Jeff, our server, was prompt, helpful, attentive and had a wonderful demeanor. My wife and I had a truly enjoyable dinner.
